This was our first visit to El Nido and could not have had a more pleasant dining experience from the very first moment we arrived. The hostess was very welcoming and sat us immediately; luckily next to some regulars that we later had a great conversation with. When I asked the hostess about how to make reservations at their sister restaurant, Su, she took care of me right away and booked us.
Our waiter was extremely attentive and helpful. When I told him that I thought they had a Mezcal flight but didn’t see it on the cocktail list, he offered that the bartender would be happy to work something up for me. Then when I told him that I was thinking of having oysters as my appetizer, he asked me to hang on so that he could go to the kitchen to hold the last six for me. Terrific.
My wife had the Caesar Salad (delicious croutons and real anchovy fillets) and the Carbonara pasta as her main. I had the salmon over gnocchis. Everything was delicious. Our only criticism was that my salmon was late coming out but the staff was so apologetic that we didn’t even notice. That, and I shared with our waiter that the poached eggs on the carbonara dish could have been runnier.
But without a doubt, one of the top meals we’ve had in Santa Fe. We plan on being regulars.
The food was very average for the price. the service was good, but actually a little overly attentive and a bit intrusive. the outdoor patio where we dined was a good space, but the décor out there was bland. The hostess came by at least twice to see how everything was going. We all felt that was a little over the top as well. Too much concern, however well intended, and not a enough "let the diners dine and visit".
The appetizers and desserts were incredible. Our entrees were uniformly very good. I will definitely dine there again, especially to try their new suchi wing of the restaurant.
Good selection of food, spirits and wine at good prices too! Will visit again.
Wonderful food, excellent meal beautiful ambience. This is my third visit and I’ve never been disappointed. Will be returning on our next trip to Santa Fe.
Wonderful! We absolutely loved it and certainly want to return!
The service is great and the ambiance is nice but the food was nothing special.
Once again, Jeanine and her team knocked it out of the ball park! From our super tasty appetizers (chick peas) to our varied main dishes was a great experience. The food, the drinks and the staff are like a well oiled machine and allow you to enjoy a great experience!
It is fast moving to the top of our list of go to’s in Santa Fe!
Do yourself a favor, make a reservation and enjoy!
Just wonderful - we were never rushed. Food as always, exceptional. Perfect for pre-opera. But make a reservation!!
The best steak I have ever eaten! It was prepared perfectly.
Wonderful grilled artichokes and fig and prosciutto pizza,
charming staff, happy place and time.
Menu needs more pasta and less steak.
How about encaladas? Is NM.
Lovely server. I felt bad because neither me nor my dining companion were very hungry so we didn’t have a big bill. But the server was so polite and accommodating.
We had never been to El Nido and decided to give it a try. Dear friends weere visiting us and they had never been to Tesuque. It was an adventure. All of us loved the food, cocktails, and atmosphere. Everything was brilliant and also relaxing in the cordial atmosphere.
Wonderful meal. Jed was a personable an attentive waiter. Nice relaxed atmosphere on the patio.
Nice staff and ambience but under staffed. No follow up after bring served. Trout was small, over cooked and dry served with 2 asparagus spears for $29 was a disappointment. Desert was good but also a very small portion.
I've dined at this restaurant several times over the past two months. I like the location and unique atmosphere with a friendly staff. The food is tasty and an enjoyable experience.
Perfect meals. Staff standing at kitchen door gabbing not appreciated.
Best food in Santa Fe! Atmosphere is warm and friendly, service is impeccable, drinks are top notch, our most favorite place!! Thank you El Nido!
Service was excellent, food was sublime, particularly the appetizers and dessert! So don’t skip them, just say yes!
Truly what dining out should be.
As always, wait staff are always good. Wish they had a wider array of less expensive wines. The linguine and clams was more on the appetizer size than entree size for $25. Tasty but overpriced in my opinion. I hope that they work on their menu. And wine list. I still love the place.
The trout was fresh and delicious. It was my first time, but I will go back.
Before opera—fabulous dinner & service.
We were so excited to return to this restaurant after a 2 year hiatus. The dinner, service & ambiance was
as good as we remembered.
How have I missed this place? I had Limoncello Chicken, my husband had trout snd my daughter had a pizza!
Don’t forget to order the fried chickpea appetizer.
All were excellent. Waitstaff good too… Jed had a great sense of humor.
The baked oysters with green chile are a must try!!
Out of towner
El Nido is one of the most unique settings for a restaurant in a city with many great choices.
We love the lovely, quaint atmosphere going back to the '20s but updated with a bright open interior.
The menu is sophisticated without being pretentious.
-can't wait to try the new sushi bar as Santa Fe lacks quality sushi!
The artichoke appetizer was the best bite of the night. The pizza was good but not great. Pretty sure they were short staffed. Service was slow but attentive.
Lovely evening and very good food and service.
Interesting wine list, too.
It was very noisy... hard to hear each other and our waiter.
Food was delicious but quantities were skimpy.
We enjoyed our dinner before the Opera. We sat on the back patio and it was comfortable and quiet.
Always a great experience at El Nido. Food and service are excellent. The only comment I would make is they need more reasonably priced wines, like Chardonnay. It’s hard to justify spending over $60 for a Chardonnay. But everything else is awesome
Excellent Food and very pleasant atmosphere. All around … a delightful meal and I will definitely go back!
Opera. Meal was great!!
The food good. The trout and salmon were basic but tasty. The dessert was the stand out for us. We had chocolate cheesecake and lemon tart.
It was perfect. From the wait staff to the last morsel of food. We were on the outside patio, had the perfect level of noise and temperature. The food itself was the usual impeccably great meal that we know El Nido for
Excellent staff, service and culinary WOW factor!
