OLD. NEW. GOOD.
At El Nido we present exceptional ingredients from farmers we know and trust. This is the point of departure for all our food. Carrying that tradition forward, our menus follow classic Italian cooking with intelligent innovation.
Best-of-season vegetables, wood-fired meats and homemade pastas are the basis of our food and is our reasoned approach to what is succulent and modern.
When you think El Nido, think: elegant, rustic yet refined, honest, delicious food, set in a fine-dining atmosphere without pretense.

My wife and I are regulars at El Nido. Enjoy the atmosphere and ambiance. Food is always good and service is tops. Really like having Ed and/or Nate as our server. Always makes for a good night.
Their choice of music is not at all what a sit-down restaurant should be playing. The trout had so many bones, I was afraid of choking. Removing them made the meal quite unpleasant. We didn't receive the check until we stood to leave. Not at all what I expected.
Enjoyed the dinner with a great wait staff. The entrees were well prepared and tasty. The sommelier was approachable and conversing. The ambiance was perfect with enough energy to know that the restaurant was busy, but quiet enough to have a conversation at normal tones. After dinner Amaro flights were fun and educational. The tiramisu was to die for!
We have enjoyed our multiple experiences at El Nido tremendously. The service is always stellar and the food is always delicious and well presented. Although, we are not regulars we are always treated as if we were. Great place!!!
Did not realize when we booked El Nido that this was a 1/2 price bottle of wine night. So we ordered a really special one and it was superb!
Only our 2nd visit and we enjoyed the evening very much.
Service was terrific... enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Food was excellent. We each ordered the same thing - a wonderful fig salad and then a Bolognaise which was light and utterly delicious. Always say the mark of an e cells to restaurant is a really good bolognaise and this didn’t disappoint.
Will return next time we are in Santa Fe/ Tesuque.
Food was excellent, service was great. The noise level was high with hard walls. This made for hearing difficulty. That was offset by the two fireplaces in the main dining room.
Wine down Wednesdays are great. Good food and great value.
One of the things we love about this place is that you can go for a full-on, multicourse dinner, or you can go have a drink and a pizza. The latter was our most recent approach, and it was thoroughly satisfying. Now, we all realize that the best pizza in America is in New York City. And many think the best pizza in NYC is actually across the river in New Jersey. And we recently relocated from New Jersey to Santa Fe. And we think El Nido's pizza is up to New Jersey standards, so we highly recommend both El Nido and its pizza.
We have been here several times now, and will continue to go back. The wait staff is very friendly and accommodating, and the food is delicious. There is a cozy bar with great craft cocktails. I would suggest trying this great find in historic Tesuque!
Our party of four was celebrating a birthday. We were seated at a corner table in the front room. Edward, our waiter, was prompt in welcoming us and getting our drink order. He enticed us with the specials for the evening and was patient as we decided what food and wine to order. There was music playing on a speaker above us, but it was just loud enough to enjoy without drowning out the conversation. We started with a prosciutto board that included arugala and chunks of parmiggiano. It was delicious. Each couple shared a dinner salad and plates were provided for us. It was a generous portion with a lovely vinaigrette. The men both had the bison Bolognese, made from bison grown locally. I ordered the pizza special, a white pizza with figs, prosciutto and gorgonzola, that came with a thin, fire-charred crust. Our 4th person ordered the bison burger that came with enough french fries to feed the whole table and the were crisp on the outside with great potato flavor. The entries arrived after the plates from the salad were cleared and silverware was replaced at each course. Edward continued to give us great service through out the evening and upon learning we were celebrating a birthday, surprised us with a tasting of Amaro, a little known Italian digestivo, explaining how it was made and different varieties and flavors that can make up this lovely drink. The whole evening was a treat and Edward and the attentive staff made it special. The prices are moderately high, but we'll worth paying for great food, service and atmosphere. Highly recommended.
Service here is hit and miss. Our most recent visit it was a total miss. Chris is always great at wine and spirits service. Wish he could do something about the wait staff. Menu needs an refresh.
Enjoy the restaurant and staff, especially our favorites Jonny and Chris. But was a bit taken aback that one of the specials we had was $60. And it wasn’t lobster. But we’ll be back!
The General Manager and the wait staff were wonderful. Very attentive without being intrusive. Our meal was excellent from start to finish. We were a bit disappointed that our dessert of choice was not available but apparently it was everyone’s choice as well. Look forward to returning another time to try it.
As expected, our dinner at El Nido, even during Restaurant Week, was excellent, the service professional and the 30% off the wine was an unexpected treat.
great service both in the bar and with our server!! Food is excellent, one of our favorite places to go for a great meal, Also they have an excellent wine list for the area.
Great wine suggested by sommelier, restaurant week menu was amazing.
Max was great with his attentive service! However the young hostess who seated us was too hurried and simply needs further training on being calm and listening to the customer. Food was good , salads just par for the money. We will give another try
Wonderful as usual! Edward was awesome as usual! It was restaurant week and we were seated promptly! Unusual! Two other places we went overbooked and we had to wait for over an hour to eat! Bravo El Nido!
We went to El Nido during Santa Fe restaurant week, and we were not disappointed. Three course, prix fix dinner — mushroom soup was outstanding, the rotisserie chicken and salmon were cooked perfectly, and the desserts were wonderful. They don’t reduce the portions like some restaurants do during restaurant week. I was really pleased to see the crowd during a cold February evening. One of our favorite “go to” places in Santa Fe.
Thanks to Edward for helping make it a terrific evening! And of course, to Christian. Love them both.
Love the staff and Chef Cristian’s food as well, a regular stop!!
Fabulous best food ever totally wonderful place wait staff professionals and unique place and chef incredible
Great place to eat ! We will be back in the summer to try eating out on your patio .
Sean (waiter) was a doll. His input on our order was spot on. Dinner was amazing. Love the ambiance. A wonderful evening.
El Nido was our second stop during Santa Fe’s Restaurant Week and it didn’t disappoint. We especially enjoyed the truffle-scented cream of mushroom soup, the sweet/savory walnut fig salad, and the flavorful rotisserie chicken, all of which paired nicely with the light French rose wine our server recommended. Our fireside table in the front room was a welcome respite from a wintry night.
The Cacio e Pepe with sausage was outstanding. Same for the Bolognese. Nice fire in the Kiva near our table.
Love, love El Nido! A must go to place . We go every chance we can. Went for restaurant week. Great value amazing food. Even on “regular “ days it is a great place. Highly recommended
Great atmosphere and unusual menu...will be back soon!
The food and service was outstanding.
Amazing food, great bar and service. I would highly recommend.
After writing a previous review regarding overcooked salmon the owner took time out of his busy schedule to call and offer to make our dining experience better than our first.
We are impressed that the owner reached out to us after having to spend time researching our phone number.
Shows great attentiveness to diners in creating a great dining experience.
Everything was great except the check. It was double charged on one item and wrong on another item. You should double check it.
Wonderful, fresh and local food - exquisite atmosphere and top notch service.
Cristin Pontiggia is the best Italian chef in Santa Fe. Period. Creative dishes with wonderful Presentations. He has a charming personality and is always a delight to speak with on the evening. El nido should be on your radar
Always great service. Menu has some standard entrees I can count on, and if I’m looking for something new/different they have fun things to try. Love this place.
Great waiter. Wonderful restaurant. I gave this review a 4 on food because we tried a dessert with a chocolate dome, onto which, hot cream was poured at tableside, to purposely cause the chocolate to melt, revealing the berries inside. While the idea was creative and fun, my husband and I thought that it was a bit disappointing, since there weren't very many berries inside. Not nearly what you'd expect from seeing the approx. 6" diameter chocolate dome--before it began to melt.
Love to sit in the Booths in the Bar...staff very sweet.
Good Happy hr.
El Nido was outstanding. Service was excellent. Our waiter Sean was wonderful. The pizzas are the best in the southwest.
Every aspect of El Nino is of first quality. The food was excellent, the service fully professional, and the ambience fine
Food and atmosphere were wonderful. The location is very close to downtown. Excellent service as well. Highly recommend it.
