Edison never fails to exceed my expectations
This was our first time at Edison. We chose it because they advertised mixology as one of their menu items. Cocktails were incredible!
We were gladly surprised by the menu. Seafood was delicious! I would definitely go back!
Edison food and drink lab continues to set the standard for outstanding food in the Tampa Bay area. We have followed the chef/owner from Boca to Berns and now to Edison. The menu changes constantly only matched by Mise en Place.
The standout dish for me was escargot on toast that almost made me forget their foie gras. The beef marrow was wonderful and the tea smoked duck breast wonderful. My wife enjoyed the beet and chevre salad and the incredibly flavored black bean soup.
We have always enjoyed a great experience at Edison!
Fantastic food and outstanding service. Will go to again very soon.
First time having lunch at Edison. It was so nice because it was remarkably less noisy than dinner time, and the space seemed airy and comfortable. Server was very friendly and professional. Food was fabulous and creative, the most important reason to go to Edison.
Food lived up to the talk. Service was spot on. Loud. A little on the pricey side but the portions were bigger than expected. 2 tapas and a split main are enough for 2 people.
A very superior dining experience. Not a very easy place to get to but very well worth the effort.
Excellent and wide variety of food with very unique flavor combinations. The cocktails are superb and as unique as the food. Good wine list, we found a stellar South African wine at a reasonable price. The service is flawless and very helpful. Great place to sample many dishes. Noise level is high if that factors in to your dining choice.
Enjoyed our visit, a light dinner comprised of small plates and a very reasonably priced Austrian white wine. Beets and goat cheese and pate plates were delicious. Desserts on the creative, highly composed spectrum are fun. Have visited chef Pierola's many stops on her career, Cool Beans, Boca...and Edison may be the fullest expression of her art. A casual yet serious place to eat.
Great food and service in a fun spot. The small plates are amazing - especially the octopus and tuna. Entrees are solid. Interesting ingredients including a sorbet for the tuna that worked!
This was our second time at Edison. We had an early reservation (6pm) and the restaurant didn't seem very busy. Ordered cocktails (I needed major explanations on the cocktails because I wasn't getting the vibe from the written description) and burrata appetizer. I had "the floor is guava" cocktail which was delicious and my husband had a glass of bourbon which he enjoyed. Ordered the burrata appetizer which was phenomenal. Super-Delicious heirloom tomatoes with shishito peppers, pepita pesto and weirdly delicious chipotle lime sorbet for some added heat. The cheese on its own was outstanding, but kicked up 10 levels with all those other flavors. Entrees came out a little too quickly. My husband had the the steak - he loved his meal. Steak was perfectly cooked and all the flavors worked (even the anchovy chimichurri!). My entree was a disappointment. I probably should have sent it back, but I thought maybe my drink was throwing off my flavors. Turns out by the end of the meal, I knew it was a bad choice. I had the "Caramelized Wild Maine Sea Scallops". There was nothing caramelized about them. I wish they had a nice dark sear. There were about five of them (maybe 6?), but they had no flavor. On top of that, in the second bite of scallop I got a little bleach taste. Again, thinking it was the drink, I kept eating. The third and fourth scallops were fine. But by the fifth one, the bleach taste was back. I didn't eat the last one. The scallops came with butternut squash nudi which were described to me as something similar to gnocchi. No flavor and the texture was strange. The cranberry orange brown butter did not add much flavor. Tasted mostly greasy. But again, my bad for not sending it back. We had the "Dark Chocolate Crunch Dome" for dessert. Very tasty, but nothing spectacular. We would still recommend Edison, but for the prices and the drive time (30 minutes each way for us), it needs to be spot on and it just wasn't this time.
Amazing all around!
Staff celebration dinner
New menu everyday. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly . Food is amazing!
Had an old friend in town and we all thought Edison had amazing service. We started with 4 appetizers for 3 of us and a round of drinks. For the next course we had 2 more appetizers and the Striped Bass entree. and a second round of drinks. Finished up sharing desert.
All amazing especially the POTATO-CRUSTED OYSTERS, CHARRED OCTOPUS HORIATIKI SALAD, ESPELETTE-SEARED STRIPED BASS, and BURRATA . Table service was great but have to say the bar service was a little slow. Glad we got a booth because it was loud. Total food and beverage price was under $300
We'll be back.
I decided to try this restaurant for my birthday. Best decision ever :) Everyone that joined me absolutely loved it there. Our waiter Matthew was the best too. Exceeded all expectations.
Food is great! My advice: don’t expect they will give you all your leftovers. I was a bit disappointed to bring home a taste of my mealI purposely saved to eat home.
Delicious food and wine. Matt our waiter is a delight, we will be back.
Food exceptional!: innovative without being outré, well presented and delicious. Attentive service. Decor is dark—fortunately we were seated at a booth on the window; unfortunately, booth benches have a rise at forward edge which makes them uncomfortable.
It’s rare to be genuinely surprised by a meal, but my three courses at Edison delighted with the chef’s creative layering of flavors and textures. Some bites were confusing until suddenly it would all come together. Hard to explain but it was terrific.
My server was very attentive and knowledgeable. The room itself is a little low key but a very welcoming space to enjoy this wonderful food. I’m looking forward to dining here again next I am in town.
Good food, great service and an enjoyable evening.
Mastermind cocktails and mixologists sat at the bar great entertainment . Service was great! The food was spot on the Tuna app was amazing, fresh roasted oysters the finest. Octopus salad fresh and delicious! Top it off with one amazing dessert of pineapple cake. Tampa has a winning Hockey Team with the Lightning and another winning restaurant with Edison! Enjoy and experience fresh food and ingredients.
Excellent, innovative food and wonderful service. The bench seats get very hard after sitting for an hour and the room is very loud. It was difficult to hear our friends who were sitting across the table from us.
Everything was outstanding! All of the food was excellent and the servers found the perfect balance between being attentive but not intrusive. A fantastic experience from start to finish!
Bartender makes a great cocktail. Potato crusted oysters were excellent - and filling. Red snapper with lobster risotto was perfectly cooked. Pork chops also perfectly cooked a come with a wickedly hot sorbet. Service was good if not a bit stand offish. However the manager cane by several times to check on us and was very pleasant and friendly.
Loved the food and service
All six dishes ordered by the three of us were delicious. Unique. Well prepared. Deeply flavorful and satisfying. My inventive bourbon drink terrific too
Fantastic as always. I really appreciate flexibility from the kitchen. Oh, and getting the butter cake for dessert is always required. Get your own!
It’s a tradition to visit Edison when in town to visit my son, and the place never disappoints. From creative cocktails to to-die-for plates to share, it’s perfect. You go in hungry and leave full and happy. Our server Jillian is amazing, fun, knowledgeable and helpful. Can’t wait to go back!
Wonderful food and the service was great. We enjoyed good wine and great food.
Amazing food - our four ate bean soup, Maine scallops, striped sea bass in bernaise sauce, kale salad and seared tuna appetizer. We learned about yuzo sauce - exotic japanese orange. What fun, and most satifying food. Thanks.
Always a fabulous meal!
It is birthday week for me and I’m visiting a friend in Florida. The menu at Edison is superb and the wine list creative and affordable.
Great food, eclectic ingredients, wonderful drinks. What’s not to like?
Our second visit for a special occasion and once again we had an excellent meal.
There is attention paid to flavor, texture and visual appeal to each dish served. It is obvious the chef is interested in providing a unique experience to the diner.
We had a great meal at edison.
Atmosphere was relaxed and inviting.
Wait staff was superb. Friendly and knowledgeable.
Meals were superb. Pork chops perfectly done. Black grouper was delicious, with a harissa sauce that was spicy as it should be, but not too spicy. I was not a particular fan of the smashed garbanzo beans. I think that they could have supported a bit of fat and some salt.
The watermelon in the octopus salad was an amazing flavor.
But a great meal, no doubt.
Dessert was butter cake, which was delicious.
Would definitely go again.
Second time at this place. One of those rare restaurants where EVERYTHING from drinks to dessert is well presented, original, well made and more important, delicious. Grilled oysters, bean soup, coconut shrimp, bass and pork chops for dinner for two plus drinks. Great experience. A new favorite of us
While the food and ambiance were wonderful, the large party who dominated the back room where we sat were completely obnoxious and ruined the evening. They were extremely loud and overbearing (there were about 30 of them) and the staff at Edison should have never sat us in the same room with them. They made it intolerable to enjoy ourselves as we couldn't hear each other across the table. I had a headache but the end of the night.
$140 with tip for a lunch for 2 (1 app, 2 entrees, 2 drinks each)
If you are a "foodie," then go here. The atmosphere is casual. Wine list is creative and the food is even more so. The raw oysters with a horseradish sorbet were phenomenal. And the tuna appetizer was great. No complaints here - a great find.
