edison: food+drink lab Ratings and Reviews
There was no option in the recommended list for Edison's strength, which is cuisine. If you've ever watched Iron Chef and Wagner a comparable experience, this is it.
The good was impeccable, service excellent. The only downside is that it's expensive, but the quality of the dishes is worth it ... for special occasions.
Dinner for two: 1 drink, 1 beer, 2 appetizers, 2 mains, 1 desert, 2 coffees. With tip, $170.
We dined in at this unique restaurant for lunch this past week, and had an absolutely spectacular experience. Despite us showing up at 2:30pm when they close between services, the server greeted us warmly and provided attentive, friendly service. He was well versed in the menu, and patiently answered all our question without rush. Not only was the service phenomenal, but the food. My soup and salad had beautiful presentation, and and each dish was composed interestingly. Our cocktails were both from their specials, and absolutely wonderful. We will definitely be returning in the future (before right at close!), and commend the fantastic team!!
I thought my overall experience was excellent! The service, specialty cocktails and food were great! However, I feel the prices don't line up with this restaurant. It's more of a casual little gem in a tight space experience versus a fine dining with high end decor experience. I believe if the prices were slightly adjusted you would have a full house every night of the week. Wishing you much success!
Innovative menu with combinations of ingredients never expected but worked deliciously well together. Friendly knowledgeable waitstaff. Very good timing of dish delivery to table. Best dessert I’ve ever eaten! Wish I lived in Tampa so I could eat here often!
My friend and I enjoyed wonderful food, including the barrata and salmon burgers. Great mixture of flavors and textures in the dishes. Services was very good, nice selection of beers, wines and cocktails. It's on the higher end price wise, but worth the splurge.
We arrived right on time for our reservation. We were seated. We watched all the servers pass Us by for 15 minutes and never once were we greeted or acknowledged. Until the water girl came and filled our water glasses and told us our server would be right with us. We waited and still no one came by. We left. I would definitely not recommend this restaurant.
This was a client / business dinner for a party of 8. Great menu and restaurant - not a great location for a business dinner. No private rooms and table is more of a "high top" bar style - not comfortable. I would recommend for personal or casual dining - but not a business meeting with large party
Food was very creative. Appetizers were the best, flavorful and creative. Atmosphere had a very good vibe to it. Local and lively...knowledgeable servers they could explain the menu and ingredients. Host was great....We had about every appetizer. The entrees not as creative had the fish good but little over cooked
They got busy as the meal progressed and seemed to get overwhelmed for a while. Bar service was very slow.
I will definitely go back....
I was in Tampa for a special occasion, and I ended picking the restaurant. I am pretty capricious about restaurants in general, but this one was very good. I tried multiple appetizers, and had barrel fish for the main course. It was superb! The wine list featured a lot of good "food" wines. We had a bottle of Priorat and Pinot Noir from Oregon. I would go there again!!!
We started with the potato crusted oysters which are often mentioned in reviews. The five oysters in the order were interesting and excellent. But vastly over priced at $18 for the five.
We also ordered a main course of steak to be served rare, and the sweet and sour soup.
Even though the room was only about 30% full, the food just didn’t seem to arrive. Other tables got served. When the food finally arrived the steak was medium plus, not rare. At a $35 price point that’s not acceptable.
The soup was strong on the sour but apparently had forgotten the sweet. It was a bitter, vinegary swill with a few pieces of fish in it.
We paid for the oysters and left.
The service was OK and it’s too bad that the food is way too expensive for mediocre minus food.
PS. If you sit in one of the booths pray that you have brought along an extra cushion or two because they’re hard as rocks
