Citizen Rail
Citizen Rail features regional American classics and contemporary riffs. The concept of grilling over a wood-fire resonates deep within the American culture, and our guests have a firsthand view of the show. An impressive wood-fired grill that incorporates the use of native hard and fruitwoods is the anchor of the restaurant space, kitchen, and menu. At its core, Citizen Rail is a restaurant that connects with the soul and fulfills Denver’s desire for restaurants & bars that are genuine, authentic and reflect the true passion of the artisans behind the stoves.

Good brunch!
This food was INCREDIBLE!!! I have nothing but good things to say about our experience last weekend. The smoked muscles were probably some of the best muscles we have ever had. I would go back again in a heartbeat!!
This place has great food! The mussels were delicious with a Dijon broth that was different for a mussel broth but on point! A good portion of mussels too! They tasted very fresh. The chicken was so good! It had crunchy skin with a juicy meat. It can with a black garlic bbq sauce that was to die for! Overall the food was amazing, ambience nice, and great service! Highly recommend checking this place out! They even age their own meat and have a meat locker you can tour! Next time I will try the ribeye which they are famous for. Happy eating!
Mussels, wine and service were excellent. I would return to try other items off the menu. Cocktails also looked delicious. The bar has a youthful upbeat vibe.
The food and service was very good. The restaurant itself was very cold though. It was -4 outside so some extra heat would have been nice but overall very good experience.
We had dinner here on Valentine’s Day. The food was incredible and the service was fantastic. The staff and managers were extremely friendly and attentive and made the dining experience very enjoyable. The wagyu beef tartare was melt in your mouth and the pancakes with caviar were fantastic. We split the scallops and the steak with lobster. Both were perfectly seasoned and extremely flavorful. The flourless chocolate cake and the cheesecake were the perfect ending to a wonderful meal.
Very good but too expensive
Great food and service. unique and tasty drinks. Was told it was last call as soon as we sat down since we were last table to be seated at 2pm. I guess they close from 2-4.
Great location and great food!
Food was great.. I think it could have been a little bit cheaper for the amount of food you get.
Went for valentine's day and had a very nice time. We sat in the outdoor tent during very cold weather and it the temperature was pleasant. The food and service were fantastic.
Great brunch!
It was good just not great. Expected a lot more.
We made the last minute decision to dine at citizen rail.
What a phenomenal dinner it was. From apps to entree everything was amazing! Will visit again soon!
The food was prepared with the highest level of mastery - from unique plating to excellent ingredients.
Great experience and food. They have done a wonderful job with their outdoor seating.
Awesome server.
It was a great environment!
Don’t order the tomakawk- super tough. The table was wobbly, tiny, and the restaurant was so loud.

Much too loud. Could not carry on a normal volume conversation at the table even with a small crowd and the music was not desirable at all (understanding that you can't please everyone's taste). Food was expensive, mediocre and not worth the cost. The check came rolled up on the table, like McDonald's, not even in a check wallet. Poor form for a supposedly upscale restaurant. I won't be back!

Service was very good and attentive for the most part. Server was friendly and personable. Food fell way short of expectations though. For a place that specializes in beef, they sure didn’t do a good job at cooking it properly. My wife’s burger was over cooked, completely dry and not enjoyable. We would have sent it back except that nobody checked on us until she was basically finished with the meal. My steak was over cooked as well (I asked for medium) but I didn’t say anything since it wasn’t as offensive as my wife’s.
Not sure if we will be coming back due to food quality. If I’m paying top dollar, I expect to get my money’s worth. This was not a meal that was worth the price paid.
Wow, the ribeye is unreal! Favorite hotel/restaurant for a nice weekend downtown
Delicious breakfast on a Sunday. Staff was friendly and accommodating. I will go back for another Sunday breakfast. I will probably try a weeknight dinner too.
We love it here!! Incredible food, great cocktails and wonderful service! Always our go-to date night spot!
The food was solid - nothing totally amazing but not completely disappointing either. I'd say it's probably a bit pricey for what you get, especially the $22 snack board that had one single piece of cheese.
Booked a table here to celebrate a birthday with some friends. I have always been impressed with the service and quality of Denver restaurants, so I was excited to try a new spot. Unfortunately this experience was a mess from the moment we walked in the door. We had a reservation for 8 and the restaurant called to confirm our table several hours before the reservation time, which was considerate and appreciated. We arrived at the restaurant on time and we were told that they were waiting for the group at our table to leave and then we would be seated. We understood and waited in the lobby. 40 minutes after our reservation time we were still standing in the lobby waiting on this table to leave and the restaurant was unwilling to ask them to leave. At this point, it’s 9:10 p.m. and the restaurant is closing at 10. We were finally seated and provided a few charcuterie boards to hold us over until we had a chance to order (which was very appreciated, I will say the restaurant made an effort to improve our experience). The service was slow and by the time our first round of drinks arrived at the table, we had to immediately order our next (and last) drink since the bar was about to close.
The group ordered a variety of items from the menu and none of the dishes were impressive. Several of the items were overcooked. The burger was undercooked. I honestly think the kitchen was just ready to close and didn’t put that much effort into making sure our orders were well executed.
I like to think I’ll give Citizen Rail another try in the future, but I would not recommend planning any sort of special occasion here. The experience really ruined the excitement of celebrating our friend’s birthday.
Citizen Rail is always an amazing experience. Great service, nice outdoor seating, and amazing food!
Customer service was exceptionally poor. Felt unwelcome, thus questioned why I chose this
Three of the four dishes we had did not meet the expectations we had for the price we paid. My partner did love the steak!
Amazing experience and nice touch with anniversary champagne. Will return ASAP.
The food is definitely not worth the price. The $18 cheeseburger I got wasn’t half as good as the $8 one from Tag burger bar. Go there instead and skip downtown!
Overall a good experience, it was our first time visiting and I had the porkchop which was great and my husband purchased the aged steak and it was slightly over cooked. We would go back
Was staying at the Kimpton Born over NYE and came here to eat for dinner. My husband and I ordered the baked potato as an appetizer which was really good, and then shared two entrees: ribeye and burger. The ribeye was awesome, a perfect medium rare with tasty potatoes and roasted broccolini. The burger however was underwhelming...almost tasteless and expected more since it was a mix of brisket. Service was just okay but adequate. Would dine here again when indoor dining is allowed again as restaurant is very modern and chic. Overall decent, just wish I would have ordered another steak instead of the burger.
Lovely outdoor seating. Good food, service and atmosphere. Food took a little long, but everything else was good so wasn’t a huge deal.
We ate here for NYE and had a wonderful experience. They were able to easily accommodate our last minute reservation. The food + drinks were 5 star. We all had the steak + lobster and ate every single bite. If we are ever back in the Denver area we will be back!
The cuisine was delicious and our server was polite and attentive.
Incredible experience all around
The Mrs and I went there for Christmas dinner. The service was good, everyone was polite. We ate outside in the tents and the food was great. We will definitely be back.
Christmas Dinner
They’ve dressed up the outdoor tent for the holidays and have a great heating system. The seating was comfy and the service was so sweet. Food was also incredible - grillmaster killed it!! Great char, incredible flavor, cooked perfectly.
