Love Love Love the Soup Dumplings. It would be nice to see some new starter options though.
My husband and I went because we had a gift certificate. We loved everything about Cholon except the price. I would be willing to give Happy Hour a try. As for dinner, we would only be back if we got another gift certificate.
ChoLon always is terrific. It is a super fun and delicious experience. Some dishes are better than others, but generally speaking everything is terrific. The pot stickers and pork belly buns are wonderful. And the soup dumplings are to die for.
The food was phenomenal and our waiter was even more so! This was one of our favorite stops during our trip. Thanks a ton!
What a delightful restaurant for young and old! We had a birthday dinner with our grandchildren and they thought it was wonderful.
Our food was great but our server really made the night for our party (11 people) by going above and beyond with our vegetarian and gluten free guests. Really outstanding service, food and atmosphere.
This is my go to when I am in Denver. The staff is spot on and the food is fantastic and innovative
Terrible service this visit
My boyfriend and I decided to treat ourselves to ChoLon for NYE this year and we were not disappointed! Our server was phenomenally kind and attentive, the food was yummy, and the price was relatively fair for the upscale nature of the place. I highly recommend the Pork buns and their citrus blossom cocktail! Another sweet thing to note, because we were still there at midnight, they gave us a complimentary glass of champagne to ring in the New Year. Overall, it was a great experience and we would go again.
As a final note, my main detractor from this experience was that my boyfriend did get ill that night. We're assuming it was because he drank a bit too much for his system, but I wanted to disclose this for the sake of transparency in this review.
4 of us went to dinner here for New Years Eve. It was very busy needless to say and we were seated an hour after our reservation time but we were in no hurry. The service was very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. The food is amazing. We will be back soon.
Excellent food and service! We went for NYE, and they made it special, but they always do!
The food and service was amazing. This was a really great spot for our NYE group dinner.
As usual outstanding. We had a very good server wo knew the dishes and wines. Overall, outstanding dinner.
Our waiter had great food and wine recommendations and did not rush us out even though we were there late!
Excellent food and perfect for sharing! Great cocktails too.
We love the dumplings with the onion soup inside - Yum!
The small plates are all good and are fun to share. We dine there every time we eat in Denver.
This place is such a wonderful experience. The different flavor combinations are simply magical, the wait staff is very professional and knowledgeable. Worth the indulgence!
Without a doubt, some of the best food I have ever had. How they get french onion soup inside a dumpling I cannot fathom, but it is stunningly delicious. As was everything else. This restaurant is a must-visit for everyone in Denver.
David E is one of the best servers we have ever had - very personable and professional. His knowledge of the menu was outstanding.
The food is outstanding across the range of the menu. Can’t wait to return.
First time diner - if you know the MUST-HAVES on the menu, you will be happy. We got the French onion soup dumplings, the Pork bao buns, Kaya Toast, Lobster Saigon Crepes, and the Stir-Fried Malaysian Noodles. The cocktail I got was also outstanding - The Merchant’s Wife with elderflower foam.
The service and food is always incredible.
Alway a great dinner spot. Sad the Sea Bass is no longer on the menu, but there are excellent options. Good GF options as well.
This was my first time at this restaurant. We were seated immediately at the Chef’s Counter per my reservation request. It was a lot of fun to watch the kitchen prepare all the food with great care and rapid precision. Our waiter Gus took his time with us to explain the menu. Gus was friendly, professional, and efficient. Everything we ordered was delicious. An absolute must have is the Sweet Onion and Gruyère Soup Dumplings. I will be back soon!
Food was spot on yet our evening was disappointing due to our server (Louis) who was very jumpy and seemed to be on some type of stimulant or “speed”. He was very distracted and difficult to ask questions of causing our dinner to be quite off.
I would certainly not recommend him as a server as our evening was very disconnected - him taking partial drink orders, asking questions then walking away before we could respond and finally not seeing him again after ordering.
A real disappointment.
Excellent food and service. One of our favorites in Colorado
Food was amazing especially pork buns. Service was amazing.
Great food with great service!
It did not seem like everything was working. My pork noodles were terrible.
My wife and I consider this to be one of our favorite restaurants in the Denver metro area. We like they're over all play on Asian food. Everything is well prepared and the service has always met our standards. I would highly recommend.
My family has been celebrating the holidays here for seven years - never disappointed - always special! We look forward to this dining experience every year and hopefully for years to come.
We (I) had an allergy and after telling the server (when they asked) and we still had food come out with the allergen. The server was VERY apologetic. We ha drinks come out wrong....over all the food was great (after a couple tries), the service was amazing. Will go back!
Fantastic service - wonder food! Definitely will return!
Fantastic Service plus Amazing Food makes for the perfect evening.
Dinner with a friend I had not seen in over a year. We just wanted to talk, catch up, laugh, and enjoy.
With so many enticing options on the menu we asked Duncan to choose for us. Dave worked with Duncan to pair the wines with the food. The end result was an extraordinary evening with wonderful memories.
In Denver for a conference. We came here for dinner after our Taste of Denver food tour brought us here for a tasting. Everything was delicious. The soup dumplings and the wagyu beef skewers are pretty much a religious experience. Super nice staff too.
Service was good. Table was in convenient place for party of 9. My main meal was not good, but ginger soda was. The waiter forgot it, but comped me. Prices are high, but it is downtown. Everyone in my party complained about party. Ambiance is lovely, very bright and contemporary. Table setting was nice. Bread choice is strange - one papadum with sauce was strange.
We had a group of 8, so we tried one of each appetizer, then had the ahi, the lobster crepes, the Korean BBQ chicken and Waygu beef. The apps were my favorite—soup dumplings, short rib sliders and whatever the bread was that you dip in the egg wash—probably my top 3, but all were great. Apps were small portions (as they should be) so we needed two of most of them. Cocktail list was only so-so, wine list was adequate. I will be back.
Overall disappointing. We had reservations and waited 15 minutes for an available table. The restaurant was incredibly loud and we had to yell at each other to converse. The waiter was good. We went with his recommendations and got 3 plates. We sat for an hour without food even thought the restaurant was only about 3/4 full. The soup dumplings were excellent. We got two large plates, the wagyu which was not exceptional compared to other wagyu we have enjoyed, and the lamb shank since they were out of the snapper. Again, the lamb was good, but not memorable. Overall we paid well over $100 for the meal, were underwhelmed, and went to another restaurant afterwards because we were still hungry.
Our dining experience was great! We were a party of 8 and the server did a great job pacing our meal! The soup dumplings, kaya toast and fish were delightful! We’ll be back again!
All parts of our meal were delicious. The Ahi tuna seemed very fresh. Wagyu melt in your mouth. The Soup dumplings were a fun, unique bite.
This is a top 5 restaurant for me. It is so delicious! Pricey, but so good.
