Learn the meaning of "Asian fusion." Or just have a really good lunch.
We celebrated our 18th wedding anniversary last Saturday. We hadn't been to ChoLon in a long time, and it was better this time than our first. From the telephone service, to gracious, warm welcome we received entering the restaurant, the experience continued to build on the positive vibes. A vibrant scene, with a mixture of patrons, we had table close to the outdoor/16 Street Mall side, so great views. Service was attentive, but not overbearing, wait staff was exceptional, even those whom were not assigned to our table came over to compliment my wife and I on being the best dressed, classiest guest. Nice gesture! Great job ChoLon!
Food was amazing. Good wine list. My only complaint was that the food didn’t come out together. We were a group of 7 and the foods came out sporadically vs all together.
Scallops were raw. Spoke to management. They replaced meal with something else. Wagyu steak was flavorless and chewy. Sauce was great but when we complained, we were told “it’s skirt steak”. It’s not described as skirt steak on menu. They describe their dinner plates as “shared” but portions are very much for one. I.e. 5 scallops. Atmosphere was just a normal open table atmosphere with not much uniqueness. Overall, it was a $200 ripoff. Save your $. Very disappointed. It was my birthday too and I was looking forward to it. Live and learn.
Innovative flavors and combinations with excellent presentation. Knowledgeable staff. Cognizant of birthday. Cheers
This was a fun spot to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday. We shared 4 different items. The Soup Dumplings are a MUST! And the Lobster Crepes were an amazing combo of flavors. The service was was good too. My only complaint is that it was extremely loud—and not even because it was packed. Just too many hard surfaces.
Love the food! This is one of my favorite restaurants!
Cho Lon has been our favorite since moving to Denver 6 years ago. We lived in Asia 7 years! Love the food, service etc! It’s never disappointing!!!
We had been there before and chose to return for our anniversary. Our table by the window was private and comfortable, yet the food and the waiter were the stars of the evening! The food was truly delicious along with amazing presentations and our waiter, Louis, was the best as he thoughtfully guided our selections and treated us to a memorable dessert! We'll be back!!
The food was very creative and mostly delicious. The pot stickers and the pork belly buns were excellent. The lobster Saigon crepes were not as successful. For the price, I was expecting a rich lobster flavor but it didn't come through. The green curry mussels were delicious but they didn't really need the bao (rolls). The rack of lamb was tender and cooked perfectly but the promised peas were a bit hard to find. Unfortunately, our server was not as good as the food. After we ordered the lamb, she asked over her shoulder if "medium to medium well" was OK as she walked away. I shouted after her that medium rare was preferred. She buzzed by once in a while but never stopped long enough to ask how the food was. She grabbed my empty cocktail glass, barely breaking stride while asking if I wanted another one. I said no but had no opportunity to order a glass of wine as she was long gone. The server that brought our food out was excellent as he explained each dish as he served it. The dining room is the open style with concrete ceilings and open ductwork so it was pretty noisy but not so loud that we couldn't converse. Overall, I will definitely be back for the food.
First, let me say the service was top notch! I wish I could remember the server’s name as he was attentive without being bothersome and very accommodating!!!
We ordered the pork belly buns (best part of our meal), wagyu beef (which was good but the mushrooms were sadly underwhelming and we love shrooms), and the stir fried noodles (which the sauce was delish but noodles seemed slightly over cooked). We also had the sweet corn ice cream alone for dessert as we were too full for anything more but didn’t want to leave without trying it and it was so interesting!
First time there and visited based on a recommendation from friends. Loved the Soup Dumplings and potstickers. Order a shared plate of salmon and it was yummy also. Service was great although the room was very busy. We were very pleased with our experience there.
A favorite. Can't pass up the soup dumplings and potstickers with honey mustard dipping sauce.
Great food, professional staff and creative menu. All 5* from a well-traveled foodie.
I see what all the hype is about! The service was great & the food was even better. Get the soup dumplings & egg rolls. Both excellent!!
Have returned to ChoLon many times. The food is always very good and any new items are unique and complimentary to the menu. One of the best in Denver.....
Sat in empty bar yet still got terrible service. Food was good but rude waitress ruined the meal.
Top to bottom, this place is fantastic!
Always love going to Cholon. Fantastic food and great service!
The Pork Belly Buns were to die for, as were the Soup Dumplings! Also we really enjoyed the Kaya Toast as a dessert. Fabulous place to sit on the street and people watch.
Great Food - WAY TO LOUD for a meeting or discussions...Went outside later after the rain and we were able to hear each other. Not sure why cacophony is so desirable for a mix of clientele that seems to want to have conversation aside from just party. Would do well to drop some sound clouds on the ceiling. No one would notice except we could hear better...
Best meal I've had in a while. Each course ordered was unique and equally as enjoyable as the next. Service was spot on as well. Soup dumplings are a must.
Noisy which makes it hard to talk but know that is the “norm” these days. But a truly great restaurant.
All of the food was delicious, but the soup dumplings specifically were incredible! Highly recommend starting with an order of them.
Delicious, but a bit pricey. Great food presentation, service with a smile.
So, we had a dining room reservation but ended up opting to sit at the bar because the dining room was super packed and loud. To be expected on a Friday night but we were really looking forward to having conversation. The bar was fairly full as well but noise level was way more conversational friendly so this was a better fit for us. The staff over there was also AMAZING. It was my husband's birthday and the complimentary sorbet was excellent. They even wrote happy birthday on the plate, so sweet! We were there at easily the highest peak point and even with a ton going on, both in dining and the bar, we were still made to feel like we were priority. They did a great job with us!
We had the soup dumplings, buns, a wok, egg rolls, ribs and it was all great - we ate A LOT (no regrets). The overall experience was great :) We'll be back!
Good food, loved the soup dumplings, but wouldn't bother ordering the diced scallops again, nice as an app but not as a main course.
Really amazing! I would highly recommend to a friend. Sam our server was a lot of fun. Going back for sure.
Hosted a client luncheon at ChoLon, and the food quality was very good, however it is very loud in the main restaurant which made it difficult to hear my client during the luncheon. The service was also strong at the start, but then it took forever to have your water glass refilled, so they were either short handed, or have slower service. Either way, the food and location are great!
Food was very, very good. Service was amazing. Some of the best attention to detail. We sat outside so the ambiance was great. Inside was a little loud. Although the waiter said they were remodeling soon to make the inside quieter.
Overall a very nice experience. Servers were friendly. Food very good. Pork buns a stand out.
We had lunch one day and dinner the next evening. Absolutely terrific. Fantastic Asian fusion menu. The Kaya toast was to die for. Our server, Steven, was attentive and enormously helpful. We will be back for certain.
Service was far too slow
Fantastic food served as several courses! Can't wait to go back
Love, the food the people and the service!
We received a gift certificate to ChoLon as a wedding gift and chose to use it on our 1 year anniversary. This was my husbands first time and my second time eating at ChoLon. The food, atmosphere and service were perfect and we couldn't have asked for a better evening!
Incredible! We came twice during our long weekend in Denver. It was THAT good. Fantastic food and a special shout out to our waiter Matt. Top notch service!
Our server, David, was fantastic! He guided us through the menu and choices. The food was totally awesome! We had the lamb chops for the main dish, the best! Highly recommend. We sat outside because the inside was very noisy.
