Pre father day
The food was incredible but the staggering of food was horribly timed. The waiter was unapologetic as they forgot to bring us a dish. We ordered two deserts for 6 people and it was 15 minutes in between deserts with no explanation. Just not great service both from the server and the timing from the kitchen.
We have been coming here for years and love the food. This time the service was atrocious though. We could not find our server when we had finished our dinner and had to beg for a dessert menu. She thought we were still awaiting a course but had not checked in on us for nearly 30 minutes. We waited so long for dessert that we had to pay for parking as we had exceeded the validation time. The staff knew we been had waiting an inordinate period of time, yet did nothing to make it right. No part of the meal was comped and we were told that they only validate parking for 2 hours, although it was their fault we were there for nearly 3. I know ChoLon is better than this. We will return and hope for better service in the future.
Amazing as always!! Soup dumpling, Wagyu beef skewers, pork belly buns, oh my!!!!!!!
Food is truly outstanding! Maybe a bit pricy for the portion size’s. Service is excellent and attentive. Bar is lively with great signature drinks.
ChoLon is one of the very best restaurants in Denver and probably the whole state. This was my second time here. it is my partner's favorite restaurant in Denver. The place is gorgeous. The decor is tasteful, tables and chairs comfortable, and service impeccable. This was the second time that Jay waited on us in 3 months. A charming, talented, well-trained server.
I ordered the Brussels sprouts which are melt in your mouth fabulous. I also had the Wagyu beef skewers which were incredibly tender and flavorful. My partner and his daughter both had the noodles with shrimp and scallops. I highly recommend ChoLon.
Cholon is one of our favorites, and, again, it did not disappoint . We gravitate to this restaurant every time we make strip to Denver. The food was excellent. We will come again.
Yummy! First time here and was not disappointed. Sat at the chefs counter. Got to see other yummy dishes go by. Noise level was finally bearable for a Denver restaurant. I'll be back for sure!
Hands down the best place in the state!
Fantastic food and service. Loved the thai shrimp rolls and the Malaysian noodles were so good I only wish there were were more!
Overall: terrific- Noise level a bit loud yet tolerable. Service: top notch. Food: 4 categories of ‘plates’, the suggestion was to chose 1 in each category which was a reasonable amount for 2- 3 of 4 courses were incredible: pork belly buns, calamari & lobster Saigon pancakes (which was just as good for breakfast the next morning) The diver scallops were a bit off- too many conflicting flavors. Scallops are a delicate flavor adding rich pork, sweet carrots etc seemed conflicted - scallops cooked to perfection though. As noted overall excellent just one dish less than 5 stars.
Every aspect was excellent
Great food, slow bar service and rude host who would only seat us in the bar area claiming no room in the dinning room that was 70% empty. 90 minutes later when we were finished, dining room still 35% empty.
Regular neighborhood Thai food disguised as a high end restaurant. You are better served going to Thai restaurant down the block then spending a lot of money for mediocre food.
Onion soup dumplings are to die for! Delicious and different. Wonderful staff.
Been wanting to go here for a while. Didn’t live up to the hype. Dishes were not flavorful and overpriced.
The food is very pricey and decent but nothing special.
Always good. Every time I visit Denver I always go. Spoke to Chef 👨🍳 and very friendly. Will go back soon
The food and service were excellent. The staff have so much pride in the food they serve and was so helpful .
Service was very attentive. Presentation of the food was impeccable. The food itself was outstanding. A great experience.
We loved everything about it! We’ll be back! The food was unique and clean and delicious. We’re working our way through Denver finding fabulous places to eat!
We got there for happy hour with reservations for 5:00 which is when dinner started. Everyone was very attentive and helpful and it was a wonderful experience. Looking forward to trying other things.
Great food service started off strong but after apps faded. Luckily another server close noticed and picked up the slack and rounded out our experience amazing ! Great food will definitely go back !
I was treated to some phenomenal food that reminded me of my time in Asia. Very professional, yet approachable, style and courtesy throughout. The only issue is that now I'll be wishing I lived nearby. The lighting may be considered "dark" to some, but I found it very cozy and relaxing. I also enjoyed the family style shared plating and how the meal was brought out course by course, which was necessary for the limited table space.
The Jade Dragon cocktail was unique and nothing like I'd ever had before. In a good way.
The complimentary papadum and tomato jam were paired perfectly. The kaya toast was absolutely amazing and reminded me of breakfast at the Kopitiams in Singapore.
The tamarind fizz was refreshing and paired well with a good amount of the courses and their take on Thai iced tea throw me for a loop, but was an exciting take on the drink.
By far, the most exhilarating part of the meal was the Colorado wagyu steak. All of the components were delectable on their own, but together, they elevated each other to the highest degree. The soy butter left us at a loss for words to describe it. Thank you to David for recommending it.
The calamari was a pleasant paradox as well. It was unlike any calamari I've had. The lime aioli brought out more of a rind flavor for me, that served as an excellent complimentary component to the very Asian style dish.
Of course, dessert did not disappoint either. Another familiar and noataglic flavor presented itself in the form of Ovaltine in the triple chocolate dessert, which was the right amount of chocolate and sweetness. The spiced donuts are coffee and donuts taken to an elegant level and ended the meal on a divine note.
Team Cholon, keep doing what you are doing because it is inspiring.
Cholon remains one of my favorite restaurants!! Creative and innovative, always super delicious. Attentive servers, nice alcohol/non-alcoholic cocktails and tasty bites which always leave me looking forward to the next Cholon meal!
Excellent. Soup dumplings were amazing. Better value at lunch.
A wonderful experience!!! Highly recommended. Food, service, ambiance....a great time!
One of the best meals I’ve had in a while. We started with the kaya toast, which is one do the most intriguing yet delicious appetizers I’ve ever had. It reminded me of an elevated French toast with a twist. We also had the potstickers which were really good and the soup dumplings which were out of this world. It was like a perfect bite of French onion soup in your mouth. We shared the beef wagyu which was quite good, but the favorite at the table was the stir-fried Malaysian noodles with shrimp and scallops. Was it a bit pricey? Yes. But worth every penny.
Everything we tried was so delicious and special. In particular, the French onion dumplings were really outstanding. Also the braised short ribs were absolutely decadent.
Great staff and food!
This was by far the best food and service combination I have ever gotten. We ordered 9 or more things to split including dessert and there was not a single thing that one of us didn’t say “that was amazing” to. Just perfect. I would go more often if I was local- but from being out of town I would say it is a must go to.
Great gem in Denver
We all enjoyed the food and atmosphere. The service was great too. They had several vegetarian options that were a hidden gem.
Three of us shared 5 choices and 4 would have worked. Definitely going back.
It was another top notch experience. This place never disappoints. This is a must try for everyone. The Wagyu beef skewers are out of this world!
This was our second visit to ChoLon and it did not disappoint. The food is served tapas style and is meant for sharing. We started with the the crunchy thai shrimp rolls which were served with a tangy sauce, followed by the lobster Saigon crepes which were served with bib lettuce and a dipping sauce. Our final dish was the Colorado Wagyu steak with mushrooms and asparagus. Everything was beautifully prepared and each dish had it's unique taste. The restaurant surprised us with a plate of their homemade sorbets with "Happy Anniversary" written across the the serving bowl. If I had one complaint, it was that there were so many more dishes I wanted to try. So, next time we will go with friends.
Food was phenomenal. Family style share plates allowed us all to try most of the menu, it was nice that there are not an overwhelming amount of options. Everyone was raving about the food days after dinner.
Friendly staff made the experienced very enjoyable. Great food and ambiance
This place far exceeded our expectations. Food was absolutely different and delicious and we loved the 'sharing dish' concept so we got to try a bunch of different dishes. Onion soup dumplings, salmon crudo, pork belly were out of this world.
This is only my second time to ChoLon and I was not disappointed. This is probably my husband's and my favorite restaurant in Denver. The food is exquisite and the service/staff could not be more fantastic. They are friendly, fun and on top of every need. I highly recommend ChoLon for any meal!!!
