Outstanding food and service, I would highly recommend!
Awesome restaurant...ask Amy for recommendations, she is awesome.
the service was outstanding from the moment we walked in till we sat down. We were delighted that everyone in the restaurant served us even though there was one particular server that made it his role to always ask us how things were going. the food was a total experience. Everything we tasted had a unique amazing taste. the wine selection was perfect. Overall we could not have asked for a better eating experience. thank you
Overall we had a great experience. The server was attentive and friendly. Our only criticism was that they explain their dining philosophy as family style with all plates to share. We couldn’t understand why some plates came with three pieces. Not convenient to split when using chopsticks. Everything was delicious though!
Great service and even better food!!! Soup Dumplings were UNREAL.
Some of the best service we've had at a restaurant in a while. Waiter knew the menu well, helped us make choices and kept us on schedule to make the 8:00 pm show.
Food was excellent.
As always, the food did not disappoint and the soup dumplings are always on point!
Loved the onion soup dumplings, pork belly buns and calamari. Wonderful flavors. Interesting wine list. Waiter recommended a Greek white that went great with the food. Very enjoyable evening.
I put a review on Yelp the day we went--and I never put reviews on Yelp. It was THAT good. Food flavors were extraordinary. Presentation was beautiful. We enjoyed multiple orders of soup dumplings. They were unlike anything I've ever had. FANTASTIC. I could make a meal of just these. Just go. You'll drop some cash, but it's 100% worth it!!!
After hearing so many great reviews, I was really disappointed. The food was mediocre at best. Perhaps they’ve become complacent. Time to refresh the menu and step up their game.
The dumplings were super delicious, as well as the first bite of steak that melts in your mouth! A little pricey but worth it, food and service were great
Wonderful atmosphere and a creative menu along with great service - we will be back!
Always a memorable experience!
Service was substandard. Three different servers tried to remove our plates while we were eating. I will not go back.
I was in Denver for business. The service was welcoming even though I was a party of 1. The food was intriguing and tasty. Though the menu is set up to share there was a side menu for smaller portions that allowed me to still sample several dishes. The server was knowledgeable and helpful. Loved it.
Relatively small menu with all dished designed to be shared. We had 3 dishes plus dessert between us. The low point was dessert, as we didn't care for the highly recommended feta cheese cake and coffee was so-so. But the 3 dishes we had for dinner would definitely bring us back.
This is a FANTASTIC restaurant. I am a complete FOOD SNOB. I lived in the city of Chicago for over 25 years and thus have tasted some of the finest chefs in the world. This rates up with the best in Chicago as well as restaurants I have eaten in New York, New Orleans, San Fran and Paris. From start to finish this was AMAZING. Our server, Daniel so helpful. Kyle and Jacob, two chefs, so entertaining and informative as we sat at the Chef's table . I can't wait to go again. Several days later still remembering with pleasure EVERY SINGLE BITE OF FOOD.
First review here, but based on all the positive feedback we had heard ahead of our visit to ChoLon, I did feel that it was important for the restaurant to hear this feedback. We arrived for our reservation a couple minutes early, and proceeded to wait 10 minutes to be seated. Very friendly server did stop by and explained the various plates that were available. To my right, a couple was just finishing their main dishes and we overheard them talking to the server, and then the manager, that the Wagyu beef simply had no flavor and were surprised that it was even being offered. Shortly after, a gentleman and his mother were seated on my left, and it was clear based on the various greeting and engagements that he was well known within the restaurant. We proceeded to order 2 plates, a medium plate and large plate. The diners on our left ordered a number of plates after us. Our first plate (lobster crepes) arrived 15-20 minutes later. After taking my first bite, I knew immediately that my wife would not enjoy it due to the fact that it contained fresh jalapeno peppers. Needless to say, this was not included in the description. After our first plate arrived, the diners on my left, who ordered after us, proceeded to receive all of their plates. We however, had to wait another 30 minutes for our second plate, scallops, to arrive. While the scallops were fine, the dish as a whole was nothing memorable. Our server did recognize that the time to our second plate was excessive and as such, I requested a manager. Unknown to us, the manger ended up delivering our second plate, but did not identify himself nor discuss the delay. In leaving I mentioned professionally to the server how disappointed we were especially since we requested to discuss with a manger. He clarified that the manager delivered our 2nd plate. I explained that my only recourse was to represent our displeasure in his tip of which he replied "I guess you have to do what you have to do".
We had very disappointing service at this past visit.
Fantastic. Sat at counter and it Was a great experience. Service excellent, a great vibe, and the food outstanding and creative
We are never disappointed by our experiences at Cholon, but our most recent trip was exceptional. We were running late and when we called to ask if our reservation could be extended they quickly accommodated us despite it being a very busy night. We brought our 8 month old daughter with us in hopes of having a nice night out of the house and the staff were so very gracious and hospitable. Food was outstanding, as per norm, and the courses were brought out with perfect timing. The wait staff did a great job of explaining a dish we had never tried (the salmon crudo, which we could have eaten 2 more!). We realize Cholon is not necessarily a child-focused restaurant, so we were so thrilled that A. we were able to get out as a family and enjoy a fantastic meal, and B. no staff person rolled an eye or were (outwardly) irritated with us bringing our little with us. Thank you for a great night!
We had a wonderful time. Our waiter was awesome, with great suggestions on food and wine. The noise level was very nice... we could actually have a conversation!
Love, Love, Love Cholon. Such unique and delicious food. And the service is always fabulous.
ChoLan never disappoints. The service is impeccable and the food is wonderful. It is so much fun to pick a few things from each course and share them. This was a it becomes a feast of different flavors and experiences. The new scallops item on the menu was to die for.
Unique menu which captures the Asian inspiration with the added flair of contemporary American cuisine.
Service is always a very slow starting drinks but improves into the evening.
Very innovative cuisine and some tastes never assembled together before. The one restaurant I would go back to if and when I am back in Denver
Mind-blowingly delicious and a great atmosphere. At first it seemed slightly loud, but the quality and presentation of the food made me forget about the noise. I’m definitely going back.
Excellent food!!! Truly unique and delicious dishes, served by a kind and attentive waiter named David. This was our first dinner out after having a baby and our two year wedding anniversary. Thank you to ChoLon for showing us a great time!
It was absolutely amazing. It was out anniversary, which I marked on our open table reservation. They also treated us to a free, new menu item (dessert) and it was sublime! On the plate was inscribed in chocolate “ Happy Anniversary”
Really excellent, really creative Asian fusion dishes. Very inventive, great presentations!
Delicious food with lots of variety. Sharing small dishes was great. Very busy with moderate noise. Service was very good and thoughtful especially as very busy. Wonderful evening!
We celebrated our 18th wedding anniversary last Saturday. We hadn't been to ChoLon in a long time, and it was better this time than our first. From the telephone service, to gracious, warm welcome we received entering the restaurant, the experience continued to build on the positive vibes. A vibrant scene, with a mixture of patrons, we had table close to the outdoor/16 Street Mall side, so great views. Service was attentive, but not overbearing, wait staff was exceptional, even those whom were not assigned to our table came over to compliment my wife and I on being the best dressed, classiest guest. Nice gesture! Great job ChoLon!
Food was amazing. Good wine list. My only complaint was that the food didn’t come out together. We were a group of 7 and the foods came out sporadically vs all together.
Scallops were raw. Spoke to management. They replaced meal with something else. Wagyu steak was flavorless and chewy. Sauce was great but when we complained, we were told “it’s skirt steak”. It’s not described as skirt steak on menu. They describe their dinner plates as “shared” but portions are very much for one. I.e. 5 scallops. Atmosphere was just a normal open table atmosphere with not much uniqueness. Overall, it was a $200 ripoff. Save your $. Very disappointed. It was my birthday too and I was looking forward to it. Live and learn.
Innovative flavors and combinations with excellent presentation. Knowledgeable staff. Cognizant of birthday. Cheers
This was a fun spot to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday. We shared 4 different items. The Soup Dumplings are a MUST! And the Lobster Crepes were an amazing combo of flavors. The service was was good too. My only complaint is that it was extremely loud—and not even because it was packed. Just too many hard surfaces.
Love the food! This is one of my favorite restaurants!
Cho Lon has been our favorite since moving to Denver 6 years ago. We lived in Asia 7 years! Love the food, service etc! It’s never disappointing!!!
We had been there before and chose to return for our anniversary. Our table by the window was private and comfortable, yet the food and the waiter were the stars of the evening! The food was truly delicious along with amazing presentations and our waiter, Louis, was the best as he thoughtfully guided our selections and treated us to a memorable dessert! We'll be back!!
