Learn the meaning of "Asian fusion." Or just have a really good lunch.
One of the best meals I’ve had in a while. We started with the kaya toast, which is one do the most intriguing yet delicious appetizers I’ve ever had. It reminded me of an elevated French toast with a twist. We also had the potstickers which were really good and the soup dumplings which were out of this world. It was like a perfect bite of French onion soup in your mouth. We shared the beef wagyu which was quite good, but the favorite at the table was the stir-fried Malaysian noodles with shrimp and scallops. Was it a bit pricey? Yes. But worth every penny.
Everything we tried was so delicious and special. In particular, the French onion dumplings were really outstanding. Also the braised short ribs were absolutely decadent.
Great staff and food!
This was by far the best food and service combination I have ever gotten. We ordered 9 or more things to split including dessert and there was not a single thing that one of us didn’t say “that was amazing” to. Just perfect. I would go more often if I was local- but from being out of town I would say it is a must go to.
Great gem in Denver
We all enjoyed the food and atmosphere. The service was great too. They had several vegetarian options that were a hidden gem.
Three of us shared 5 choices and 4 would have worked. Definitely going back.
It was another top notch experience. This place never disappoints. This is a must try for everyone. The Wagyu beef skewers are out of this world!
This was our second visit to ChoLon and it did not disappoint. The food is served tapas style and is meant for sharing. We started with the the crunchy thai shrimp rolls which were served with a tangy sauce, followed by the lobster Saigon crepes which were served with bib lettuce and a dipping sauce. Our final dish was the Colorado Wagyu steak with mushrooms and asparagus. Everything was beautifully prepared and each dish had it's unique taste. The restaurant surprised us with a plate of their homemade sorbets with "Happy Anniversary" written across the the serving bowl. If I had one complaint, it was that there were so many more dishes I wanted to try. So, next time we will go with friends.
Food was phenomenal. Family style share plates allowed us all to try most of the menu, it was nice that there are not an overwhelming amount of options. Everyone was raving about the food days after dinner.
Friendly staff made the experienced very enjoyable. Great food and ambiance
This place far exceeded our expectations. Food was absolutely different and delicious and we loved the 'sharing dish' concept so we got to try a bunch of different dishes. Onion soup dumplings, salmon crudo, pork belly were out of this world.
This is only my second time to ChoLon and I was not disappointed. This is probably my husband's and my favorite restaurant in Denver. The food is exquisite and the service/staff could not be more fantastic. They are friendly, fun and on top of every need. I highly recommend ChoLon for any meal!!!
Amazing meal from beginning to end. The donuts are out of this world.
Great food in a hip energetic setting. We did not appreciate the push from the wait staff to order all courses at once. Despite our request that we were interested in spacing out the courses for a more relaxed dining experience, the courses showed up like clockwork one right after the other - a real churn and burn experience. In fact, one of our four courses showed up half way through our current course.
Great food, but uneven timing of when items came out. Very expensive.
We had a large group and spent some time there. We opted for outside table to avoid the inside noise level.
Good, but food was samll plates, and very rushed, had to tell wait staff to slow down. Plates all came at once, barely had time to enjoy...
Excellent food. Excellent service!!!! A wonderful dining experience
we have gone to Cholon many times but this last time, the food was not that good. Everything was just fair including the dumplings which is why we go. We will go back but not for a while.
We had a great time at this restaurant. Very creative menu. They were very accommodating to a few shellfish food allergy. We had a larger group and everything was built around that.
We'll be back. Parking is easy right next door in Blake Street.
I have been to Cholon a number of times and they never cease to disappoint. The food is always incredible (top faves are the Onion Soup Dumplings and the Pork Belly Buns) and the service is impeccable. The wait staff are well versed in their cuisine and attentive without being over bearing. Nice atmosphere and a great happy hour, if you're looking for a lower cost option.
Best calamari ever. And I've had plenty from other nice restaurants. For that I'll remember ChoLon.
The restaurant wasn't bad, but it wasn't as good as I was expecting given the reviews. Overall, it's very corporate, the service is adequate - a little over-attentive. It was overpriced, and most of our dishes were swimming in sauce. it would make a great dining experience for someone who had a lot of money and not a lot of experience with Asian food.
This is a must in Denver! Atmosphere not pretentious but sophisticated. Extremely attentive and knowledgeable staff and that was just the beginning ... the food was outstanding, courses were paced well and portioned perfectly. Definitely try the green curry mussels.
Service and food was great but very noisy. No sound barriers we had to shout to hear each other. For the price not worth it.
Always awesome food! A bit load, but worth it for the food. Never a disappointment.
Very good, portions are large and great for sharing. 3 of us ordered 4 dishes and couldn’t finish all of it. Highlight was the pork spare ribs, and the soup dumplings are heavenly.
Barbie our server was great! Food delicious and unique!
ChoLon is delicious, and has great service in a lovely setting. My only real complaint is that the portions are quite small, particularly given the very high prices charged. It's nice not to feel stuffed after lunch, but it's a bummer to spend $30+ for lunch and walk out hungry. Again, everything we had was delicious, but it costs far too much for far too little food.
Love eating at Cholon. Great food. Great service. Shout out to Dave, barman extraordinaire.
Amazing food and the server was very knowledgeable. Would highly recommend.
Loved the pork buns and soup dumplings. Amazing! The entré’s were not worth what we paid. We got the scallops and calamari and were disappointed. It was a very expensive meal and slightly disappointing. However, the small plates we got were soooo good.
Best meal we've had there yet!
Cholon is so good that one tends to forget how good it is. We had a flawless meal.....3 desserts, all winners. World class dining, and sitting at the counter gave us a chance to watch and be educated. Rebecca, expediting, always had time to explain things to us. And every bite....soup dumplings to start, and the pork belly sliders. The soup dumpling is an experience. The sliders were just flavor with every bite. A salmon crudo.....never a bad choice. And we did the wagyu beef, that you could cut with a dull spork, but would lick the plate afterwards. Darn, almost forgot the perfectly fried calamari, with a dill sauce, that made my Italian taste buds happy. Three desserts: Triple chocolate, panna cotta and the spiced doughnuts.
They do not miss a trick here. Everything is first rate, even the timing of the service is well thought out. The food made me glad I had cataract surgery to get the full beauty of it. And the people are friendly.
Cholon deserves every accolade. Bring a date, you'll love it.
Amazing small bites, good cocktails and great main plates. The soup dumplings in particular are spectacular.
Great food. Knowledgeable server.
Believe them when they warn you the Soup Dumplings are hot. Need to cool down before eating in one bite.
ChoLon was marked in my calendar as a place to go when visiting Denver and it did not disappoint. Kudos to the chef!
The Asian-French fusion family style dishes were perfect for our group. Each dish was distinctive, flavorful and delicious. By business party was a mix of people from around the US, Canada, Europe and the Middle East, including a self proclaimed 'food snob' from Paris, and all were extremely complimentary of the food and overall experience.
I loved the French Onion Soup dumplings, salmon, shrimp rolls, Malaysian noodles and wagyu beef!
From the chef behind Spice Market and Buddakhan, it’s as good as you’d imagine.
Delicious!! Wonderful experience all-around.
The food was delicious. The service was excellent and the waiter was very informative.
The service was impeccable, the food was well cooked and served with delightful intention which made appreciating it easier. The drinks were poured and mixed well ...we were also moved to a more desirable spot making our romantic evening date memorable. Definitely worth paying a visit to every time I visit my love one in Denver .
