Carmine's McGregor Square
Artichoke hearts, portobello mushrooms, and spinach in a pomodoro sauce
Boston and arugula, toasted pistachios, fresh sliced pears, gorgonzola cheese, and a pear cider vinaigrette
Medallions lightly breaded and fried, baked with marinara and melted mozzarella
Food was amazing and service was wonderful. Lighting was a bit too bright for some reason.
The food was good. Tyson our waiter was excellent. Ambience was mediocre. We did not like the menu which did not allow individual dinners.
Poor service and very loud! Good food though.
Wonderful food and service! Really enjoyed our time there. I agree they need to invest in a dimmer switch the lighting is way too bright for dinner. Recommend giving it a go.
Our server was great!
Far less noisy than carmines on penn, which is nice!!
Please make a dish with spaghetti, sautéed garlic slivers and vodka sauce.
Kitchen prepared it for us upon request and it was the best dish we had out of three. Simple but amazing!
The only part of the meal that was a tad bit more than I expected was the tiramisu, although it was just soaked in the topping versus being a square piece, which is much more appetizing
The lights are too bright we all noticed right when we walked in but after asking 4 or 5 staff members a lovely water boy clarified that they could not be dimmed ! Boo.! The space felt like it needed some warmth or coziness added . Felt stark like a museum. Our waiter was great and seemed to be passionate about his job . Food was just ok not great .
Won’t be back to that location .
Love this location- great food, not too expensive. The vodka sauce is amazing! A fun night out!
We met another couple at Carmine's for dinner. Our first time there and food was decent. The hostess was friendly however, the server and food delivery staff were not friendly at all. We had a reservation and were on time. The four of us felt they were little abrupt and we were a inconvenience to them from the beginning?? In fact at the end they had a delay in getting us our desert, I think they forgot about it and then we overheard one of the servers say fill up their water and get them their ticket! We all thought that was a little rude since they were the ones holding us up and then wanting to rush us out. I'm all about experiences when I go out to eat and this was not one of the best ones!
We’ve been to Carmines on Penn many times and will continue to go to that location. We thought we would try Carmines at McGregor square because it’s new, but wish we didn’t switch it up. The food was almost as good as the Penn Street location, but the service was far behind. The atmosphere at Carmines on Penn is also much better. We were rushed through the entire dinner process in under an hour. We were not offered dessert or another drink, which we wanted, and we would have stayed longer, but felt like they wanted our table. Carmines at McGregor Square needs some work, it seems like the staff is still learning and does not quite grasp the entire concept of the original restaurant. I would recommend Carmines on Penn, but not this location.
Food is served ‘family or 2 person style’ when really the portions are for one person. I’m a tiny person and the 2 person servings were embarrassing. Veal was extra chewy and overdone- the few pieces we got. I didn’t expect a ton of veal $27, but I thought it would come with a side of pasta or something so my fault for not asking. Not worth going to again and I’m not picky, but pricing and quality do not match at all. Even the salad was an iceberg mix for the salad- right out of a bag. I’ve seen dive bars with higher quality lettuce lol
My husband and I received excellent waitstaff service. We had the short beef ribs and risotto, both of which are wonderful and would recommend. There is enough for 2 so that is the only thing we ordered - the risotto is family so we had enough for our lunch the following day. Wine service was great - it was rather loud and hard to have a conversation but who can blame groups of people enjoying their time together along with a great meal. My only disappointment was the chocolate cake. It was clearly kept in the frig because it had dried out and was cold. We will come back
Everything was well prepared in a workman like manner. Didn’t taste the love I used to get 20 years ago at the original location. Had the classic chicken parm. Could have used a little more sauce underneath. Also had linguine with vodka sauce and meatballs. Meatballs were excellent, moist and flavorful. Pasta was perfectly cooked. Wine service was excellent. Cheesecake was a miss. Lacked creaminess and has a slightly stale taste.
Loud, food wasn’t great, service was good, probably not a place I’d go back to.
Not a ton of value for the money. Clam sauce wasn’t good and I’ve never been served clams that are closed.
movie playing in the square it was great to be outside
Very disappointed. Had reservations for 7. Put us in room near patio. VERY NOISY. And only 1 other table in our room & 1 other table in the main room filled. Sat near a group of 3 ladies. So loud. Then a waitress came up & they got even louder! We couldn't carry on a conversation. Why put us in the room with a high ceiling?
Our server a talker. Couldn't give just a brief description. Way too much.
Chicken Montana a huge disappointment. So much gorgonzola. Not good. Ravioli special not very good either.
This was our first trip to Carmine's in MacGregor Square. Fantastic ziti bolognese and the pear salad was to die for! We had some mirto (look it up!) and the most generous portion of tiramisu you'll ever see. Amazing and fun!
Great food as always. Love the new location.
Our server was great-very attentive & gave us good suggestions. Beautiful night in CO to sit out on patio
Great place for family style dining. Food is exceptional…try The Tour appetizer. Lots of food and don’t forget the brussel sprouts! Parties 8 and under get to be served by the staff so everyone gets a fair portion. Don’t forget the tiramisu to end a fun meal.
Great place for dinner in MacGregor Square! Servers were friendly and timely, food great and lots for the value.
Carmine's is a great place with outstanding food but the service was slow. I know every business is having trouble finding staff.
All food selections are served “family style” so be sure to keep that in mind ahead of dining at Carmine’s.
Their eggplant parmigiana was delicious and prepared to perfection.
Our server was odd. Very cold in the restaurant. Busy night in Macgregor Square with the Rockies playing at home + MNF. We should have asked to be moved away from the patio doors and blowing AC.
Always a great place to eat. Love the new location!
Service was excellent.
The food was delicious, our entire group, including all 5 kids loved every part of our meal! The service was also outstanding.
I had eggplant parmigiana sandwich and it was delicious !
Really enjoyed the experience. Service, food, and atmosphere is perfect especially after Happy Hour at the Square!
Have been here several times and it is always amazing!
We totally enjoyed our meal at the new Carmine's location. The food was delicious, the wine was fabulous, the service was amazing and I can't wait to go back and try more menu items!
Table side service was very good but the food was cold by the time we received our plates. To do table side service, family style, with a group, the food had to be horror when it came out and there has to be a way to keep the food warm at table side.
I have been to the Carmine’s on Penn but was excited to try to the new location in McGregor Square and it did not disappoint!! The food was as amazing as I remember and our server, Brittany was awesome! She gave spectacular recommendations for wine and food. Highly recommend!!
Really great food and great service! It was a great place to bring our friends from out of state.
Very over priced for decent pasta and salad. Served family style and placed on individual plates be server. I would rather control my own portion size. Told our beer would be complimentary due to slow service but charge appeared on our bill. Very loud inside and probably would have been better to sit outside with views of McGregor Square. Excited to try something new in the neighborhood but will get our Italian fix at better places nearby.
We ate on the back patio which opens up to a large outdoor common area for other restaurants. Our waitress was very helpful with what to order. All the plates are for 2-4 people, meant for dining in groups. The pesto pasta primavera is the best pesto I have ever had! Sooo good! I would definitely eat here again.
Very warm welcome from the hostesses. Overall great service and food. Large portions, we have leftovers for days!
The staff was excellent, the environment pleasant, unfortunately the food was very average in presentation and taste.
