Great experience. Love the food
Great experience, just like last time. We were there for my wife’s birthday and they took great care of us. Server’s recommendations were spot on.
Best brunch in town. Great food with excellent service. I can see why Michelin acknowledged the restaurant. Brad Cutting took the time to chat with us at our table.
One of the best restaurants in the city.
We’ll be back and if you haven’t, you need to try this place.
It was a beautiful atmosphere with fun indoor and outdoor seating. Our waiter was friendly, attentive and helpful. The food was amazing! There was four of us and our waiter recommended sharing 2 of the large platters and 4-6 of the small plates. It was a perfect amount. We especially loved the brussel sprouts and bintje potatoes for our small plates and Ribeye steak was incredible for our large platter. Definitely planning on coming back
The food always blows my mind and the cocktails are delicious! Great wine list and bartender is really personable
Unique offerings and food pairings. Of the highest quality and attention to detail. A culinary adventure that will leave you quite satisfied and planning your next visit before you have even finished your meal. Service was top notch and the restaurant was clean as a whistle inside. Highly recommend you start your meal with the “Pickles” and the Focaccia Bread with Pizza Oil
The food is always top notch with an ever changing menu. It’s the only restaurant in Sacramento where I have many food options without asking for a crazy alteration of the menu. Most of their menu is gluten free and many vegetarian options, that are blow your mind delicious.
New Year’s Day brunch/lunch: absolutely delicious food
Reminiscent of SF’s the Progress and State Bird. Innovative dishes that offer a fusion of flavors where they are offered as sharing, although portion size is for one, and they offer a dim sum cart. Decor and design is tasteful. Service was kind, knowledgeable and prompt.
01/01/20 we enjoyed brunch at Canon. Everything was great, but they changed it up a bit and offered all their side dishes on a cart that came around every so often. It was chef’s choice as to what went on the cart. This was a bit disappointing as my hubby wanted bacon (I don’t eat meat) and it was not offered during the time we were dining.
Really enjoyed the prix fixe menu on New Years Eve. Our waiter was excellent, the ambiance was lively but not too loud, and the food was delicious. It was the perfect way to start the New Year!
We had one of the best meals of the year at Canon. The service was excellent and the food was exquisite.
Had a great meal New Year’s Eve 2018. This experience not so good. Fatty pork shoulder and fatty steak. Chicken was excellent. Small plates not interesting at all. Mixed drinks are all weird concoctions. Tasted like medicine. Last time servers were enthusiastic to bring dishes. This they seemed as if they realized not so good.
Canon is a gem in Sacramento. They accommodate all dietary needs and have ample dedicated vegan and gluten free options, so you can get exactly what the chef has envisioned. And that vision is spectacular. The coconut curry consomme was incredible, and the squash burst with flavors that I could not have expected. As an appetizer, we got the focaccia, which is brilliantly paired with one of the best pizza oils I have ever had. I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough, and the best thing is that the quality and creativity of the menu far surpasses the cost.
Great place. Food consistently good. Service excellent.
Late brunch....attentive service, great menu full of interesting fusions of flavors, textures and tastes.
Loved both "Franks Special" & "Loco Moco".
Will bc e back to try Dinner menu.
Great Happy Hour food options. Great fried cauliflower, large and exceedingly fresh oysters and great HH burger. HH cocktails are interesting, though no great bargain. We’ll be returning
Christmas celebration with family
Would definitely go back
Delicious and surprising dish after dish. Delicious food, lovely ambiance and delightful service. Thanks for impressing!
I absolutely loved the food here. Very creative and fresh ... Service was good, a bit slow, but we were on a rare date night so didn't really bother us.
This was our third time dining at Canon, and though the previous two times were exceptional, this experience fell quite a bit short. Service was friendly and knowledgeable, but not as efficient and consistent as our service in the past. Food lacked the execution and flavor complexity of past visits. Disappointing in comparison and hoping it was just an off night.
I just don't love the food and the need to combine dishes often leads to a meal that seems and tastes disjointed.
Unfortunately, we had to wait for a VERY long time for our bottle of wine to be opened. We brought three. Our server was very busy so maybe that's why but still way too long and still charged us the corkage fee on all three bottles. The food was very good and interesting things that I don't typically eat. But the price of a chicken and steak with no sides is just crazy. Don't to feel like it was worth it. I would go again maybe for a small plate or two and a drink but never again for dinner as the prices just are worth it.
Outstanding food and service. Very creative menu - items that sound weird always end up being delicious! Smallish portions and pricey, but worth it. Our waiter Andrew knew the wine list and menu cold - he was able to give us useful info on some very obscure wines and menu items without missing a beat.
I appreciate creativity, but, the food at Canon is too inventive and there is really not an option for people who want more of a mainstream meal. Believe it or not, we are foodies. We collect and enjoy wine and because that is a major part of our experience the food pairing is important. Our meal was too spicy and flavors just collided with both the white and red wine. We had the oysters, the pear salad, foccacia, binje potatoes, and the grilled whole chicken with calabrain chile butter. It was not impressive. We frequent all of the major eateries in Midtown and many of the Michelin star restaurants internationally. We rarely have this experience. Please tone it down or at least offer some less adventurous meals.
Wonderful food and very cool vibe! Loved the experience!
Amazing meal! So many nice touches that made this a truly unique and special dining experience. Staff was attentive and friendly. Warm, comfortable atmosphere. The meal itself was one surprise after another with exciting flavors and textures. The candle on our anniversary dessert was very sweet and finished off a perfectly memorable evening!
Great food and amazing service. Staff was friendly and attentive and I keep thinking about that pork shoulder. We are definitely coming back.
Great choice for our night out in Sacramento. Recommend it, and the chicken drumsticks. Also the cheesy cauliflower, but it's rich so save room!
Creative, delicious food. Were there for my husband’s birthday. Go, you will enjoy it!
great innovative meals. great service.. all of the service stafff knew what they were doing and were well trained
Delicious! Kind, warm staff and plenty of menu options for diners with dietary preferences.
I’ve had brunch here several times and each time has been delicious! The wait staff is excellent and the decor is beautiful. Highly recommend
Great vegan options and presented elegantly. A lot of great complex flavors!
Love Canon! Visit family here 3-5 times a year and always try to dine at Canon. Great inventive delicious food, excellent service, happy ambiance. Our family loves it!
Great food. Our waiter seemed to have an attitude. He forgot to come back several times. He forgot part of our order and when we reminded him - he brought it after we were completely done with our meal. And then was shocked we didn’t want it anymore. The other wait staff seemed very nice and attentive. But ours definitely was not. He even made a comment about we “may need to turn the table over” after we first got there. I was like - I made reservations- if we want to eat slowly and enjoy our meal - we will!!
Food is lovely- service is not fast - definitely didn't feel pressure to leave - very noisy on the outdoor patio but nice and warm
How have I never been here before? Will definitely be back and tell others to come in as well. Service and food were fantastic.
