                                                                            Service is weird. Our servers - we had two? kept swapping on and off who was helping us. Ditto for people with watering our glasses clearing our plates. Then a manager checked on us ( we were celebrating ) but she then cleared our food bc our servers were MI A. Maybe just a bad night? Food was okay nothing spectacular

My tween son finished his meal and walked across the street to get a scoop of his favorite sorbet from a different restaurant. They told him they would not serve him a dessert without him ordering dinner. Upon returning to Campiellos and telling me the story, our waiter overheard. He offered my son one of the two sorbet flavors they had. (Which was not the specific flavor he went for). He picked one and was content. A few minutes later, the waiter reappeared with a scoop of the original flavor my son wanted. He had found it in the kitchen even though it wasn’t currently on the menu. I am so disappointed that I don’t our server’s name. I would love to recognize him for that incredibly thoughtful act. Kuddos to going above and beyond on something small that made our experience great. The service was great before that, but that act definitely put it over the top for us.

                                                                            In the offseason, Campiello is one of my top 3 choices for lunch. Wonderful ambiance, multiple seating areas, attentive service, many discounted specials and wines, diverse choices, something for everyone. My pappardelle w braised veal was perfect, as was the orzo salad. My friend’s shredded pork shoulder sandwich was tender but oversalted and the roll was bland. Our Italian white wine bottle was 30% discounted, and delicious.
