Charming little French bistro with wide menu options
Went for brunch, sat in the bar which was truly a beautiful experience. Coffee was fantastic and rich. Food was delicious, fresh and buttery perfection. Felt like I was truly in a French bistro in Paris. Service was kind and professional. They serve you fresh bread w butter and marmalade...what an experience
We are so lucky to have Bon Ami in our neighborhood. My husband and friends try to support our local businesses. Bon Ami is one of our favorites. We love their brunch (outdoors) and though we haven't had dinner there in a while we hope to do so soon. Covid has kept us from indoor dining. I recommend the French pancakes, any of there crepe dishes and the pate is delicious!!!
So so food - if we didn’t know anything about French food it would have been fine. My gruyere and ham crepe with mornay sauce had had the cheese waved over it at best. My husband had eggs Benedict with corned beef hash and the hash (not a French thing by the way) was straight out of a can
Great food & ambience
We felt very safe dining at Bon Ami. Tables were socially distanced and the seating arrangements were well thought out. All staff members were wearing masks and we were encouraged to do so as well when not at our table. We discovered this restaurant a short while before the pandemic and were eager to come back after several months. We love the ambience; it's very much like small neighborhood restaurants in French cities. The service was outstanding. Very attentive but without chit chat; again, very French in that respect. The food was great, as we had come to expect: well-prepared and nicely presented. My pate de maison was an excellent first course; my wife ordered the brocolini side dish as her appetizer and was very happy with its crispiness and garlicky flavor. She had the salmon grenobloise and loved it. Salmon is her go-to dish; it was done to perfection and accompanied with spinach and mashed potatoes. I ordered the pork medallions in a mushroom cream sauce and they were wonderful. If I had my career choice to make over again, I would love to be a saucier; I could learn from the chef. It was accompanied by the potato gratin, which was marvelous. We shared a 2013 Pauillac which, at its price, was astounding. We skipped dessert this time but the coffee we ordered was excellent.
Always a good experience. We are never disappointed.
Delicious crepes and love the patio! I've only had breakfast crepes there but all my guests have enjoyed their meals as well.
We had a lovely evening at Bon Ami. Hoped to eat outside, but the weather didn't cooperate. We were seated at a very nice table inside with plenty of distance from other diners. Everyone was very accommodating. Our server seemed a little inexperienced and tentative, but she was very nice and helped with everything we needed. The soup du jour (cream of potato with leeks) was a huge disappointment; just no flavor there; very watery. We should have probably sent it back. The rest of the meal made up for it, though. Delicious and classic preparation of escargots, fantastic seafood crepe and wonderful crepe Merise. Outstanding Caesar salad, too. For classic French food that is unpretentious and affordable, Bon Ami gets my vote everytime! BTW - the house Rhone red just wasn't very good; go for the house sparkling wine, instead.
Ate outside windy, but ok. Food was great, service ok, very few other people,
Birthday dinner. It was lovely!
Good food. Could do better with covid precautions. They seat people inside at tables that are closer than 6 feet. And they’re the only restaurant I’ve been to that hasn’t set up touchless ordering and paying from your phone. You have to order and pay the old fashioned way.
After I was blown away by my amazing experience here for dinner three nights ago, I was completely disappointed by this brunch experience. The grumpy host stuck us at objectively the worst table they had outside - the completely slanted one nearest to the street (a very busy and loud Alameda Ave), and not below the patio roof or an umbrella (which caused falling leaves to continuously fall into our food and drinks. That table shouldn’t even be set up for customers - all it can do is insult the patrons who get stuck there. When you look around and everyone else has a decent table, you wonder why you were singled out as the second class customer who has to sit at this terrible table. On top of this, the egg on my croque madame was completely overdone - yolk was completely solid and not runny at all. It must be a different chef for brunch than dinner, because eggs are just about the easiest thing to make correctly. Compared to how great their dinner service was, brunch was a complete disaster. Mediocre food at a terrible table, barely on the edge of the restaurant’s ambiance, and more so within the ambiance of Alameda Ave. Not an enjoyable experience overall.
Brunch was great. Sit outside on the patio if you can.
Quelle soirée incroyable. Service génial, personnel sympathique, belle ambiance, nourriture délicieuse!
So good! Chicken croquettes was to die for ! Banana fosters was okay. Highly recommend
Amazing restaurant. Will 100% be returning soon!
On a mid-October night, the patio dining was phenomenal. The large patio felt very safe for pandemic dining. We arrived in time to have the happy hour mussels and a half priced bottle of wine before moving to entrees. This is by far our favorite place to go in the neighborhood.
Really nice patio to sit and eat in. Neighborhood gem.
The food was absolutely amazing. I had the shrimp and crab crepe and a blackberry crepe for desert and I would recommend both. The waitstaff were available but not hovering and very pleasant. The only problem was that we sat on the patio where the table was nicely shaded at the beginning of the meal but in almost full sun when we finished - that table needs an umbrella. This, however did NOT take away from the wonderful food and service. I plan to go back and have already recommended Bon Ami to friends.
My partner and I decided to try something new and local and boy were we THRILLED! Bon Ami was amazing. The food was to die for the wine list was great and the ambiance was quiet and cozy like a small Parisian café. We loved it and will be coming back again!
Great to fine a first rate French Bistro in Denver. Long overdue!!!!!! I have been now a half dozen times and tried various dishes and all have been great. The wine list is good and priced fairly. Enjoy!!!
there were 6 of us for dinner. 2 had chicken crepes with prosciutto and 2 had chicken crepes with cranberries and there was one person that had crepes with corned beef, One person had chicken with herb butter and french fries. Everyone enjoyed their meals and felt the food was flavorful. We also ordered brussel sprouts as an appetizer to share and this was almost the best part of the meal. We all had room for dessert. 2 crepes and one banana foster were shared by and enjoyed by all. We will be back
Great place, food, and service.
We love this place. The food is great and the staff is friendly. Drinks are pricy though.
Great ambience, great food, great service. Highly recommended!
Brunch on the patio! Beautiful day and beautiful food. Wonderful service!
This was our first time dining at Bon Ami and will certainly be returning. Thoroughly enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere and was sorry we did not have a chance to sit out on the patio. Our server, Trissa, was most delightful and helpful with any questions we had on the menu. This is some of the best food we have had in a restaurant in a long, long time. From the fresh bread, to the appetizer, to the main course and dessert. All the food was exactly as described on the menu and cooked to perfection. Would highly recommend this place.
Lovely high-walled patio, perfect for these pandemic times. Interesting, varied menu. Our appetizer, entrees, and dessert were excellent. Also available for takeout. Support this neighborhood gem!
Bon Ami....the perfect place for a birthday brunch...excellent coffee,
too many wonderful choices on the menu, surrounded by beauty and
open air, attentive service...all in all a delightful, relaxing visit. Thank you
so much for having such a wonderful, shady patio!
Bon Ami is one of our favorite restaurants. the menu is extensive enough to appeal to most, if not all, diners, and the wine list is good, as well. my favorite is the by the glass cab sauv.
indoor or outdoor, we have always been well taken care of, and have felt 'safe', in the new lingo.
we both enjoyed the veg offering, portabello ravioli. salmon gravlax appetizer is wonderful....
M-F happy hour 4-6.
Delicious! I just moved to the neighborhood and this was my first dining experience in the area. Everything was really good. The pancakes are other-wordly. I nearly passed out.
Great food and comfortable Covid seating
Outstanding service and nice ambiance on the outdoor patio. Besides this the food was mediocre at best and overpriced. Cocktails were decent but nothing to rave about. 3-stars overall. Unfortunately I won’t be rushing to return.
Fabulous. The crepes are thin and can cut easily with a fork. Very mellow. Great flavors. One of the best French restaurants that I’ve been to.
A quick last minute dinner in Denver. This is a lovely little restaurant, very charming, with a side out door patio that looks nice - we had to sit indoors. Good Happy Specials. Very accommodating waitress who was able to get a special dish prepared. Enjoyed!
We’ll prepared menu with lots of variety. Everything from the great French baguettes to the creme brûlée with real vanilla bean speaks to quality. Love the patio!
Sadly disappointed by the service and food after high hopes for a dining experience that would have us coming back because the patio is lovely for COVID times. The hostess didn’t answer when I asked her how she was, first clue and the waitress seemed to have no knowledge of the menu, was running about almost frantically and did not seem to enjoy what she was doing at all. Timing was off for appetizers and entrees and small requests impossible, like water without ice. Both myself and my partner had GI distress that night from something in the mussels, which was the only dish we shared. I had Parisian chicken and she had the fisherman stew with dismay that the taste was underwhelming for both of us.
We had an excellent dining experience and meal at Bon Ami. We haven't been eating out during the pandemic so we made reservations for the patio to feel a little safer dining out. The patio is a great atmosphere with hanging bistro lights and tables are distanced. Our meal was fantastic. We shared the Saint Louis crepe and my husband has the fisherman's stew and I had the salmon. For dessert, I enjoyed the creme brulee and my husband had the chocolate banana crepe. I've been to Paris a few times and this bistro reminded me so much of a typical meal in France. The creme brulee was on par with things I've eaten in Paris. We look forward to dining at Bon Ami again soon!
I love this restaurant in every way! The owners have every detail covered with the ambiance, food quality and drink menu. They are also very generous with drink pours. It is my go-to for a fabulous dinner and dining experience.
