It was our first time there and we loved the ambiance! Especially the little sign that said welcome to our table; a nice touch. Service was a bit slow, we had to wait quite a while for refills on water and coffee. Which is not too big of a deal for a leisurely brunch, but it seemed odd to have several servers walking past us, not acknowledging us. Hopefully it was just an off day, we’ll be back.
Our server was great and very attentive. However, our food took almost an hour to come out and when it did, our eggs were over cooked and luke warm. The food quality was mediocre at best.
The restaurant did not appear to be very busy but the service was very slow. The food was fine but nothing to write home about.
What a fun place! We were met by name at the door and a personal greeting at our table. The food and service were one of a kind. So special and delicious!
We love Wash Park, and hoped that this would be a new find. Creative menu, high quality food (grilled oysters were the best I've had), but it took over 10 min. to get our drinks after ordering, and another 30 min for the entrees, which were served with the salads and appetizer at the same time. Their signature drink, the Blackbird (rye and 2 liqueurs) only filled half the martini glass--probably not 2 oz total for $9. The waiter didn't seem enthused--very 'take it or leave it,' and the place wasn't busy.
I have been here a couple of times now for brunch. Fun menu choices and a nice ambiance. Both times the service was friendly but on the slow side. Would definitely return and recommend.
It is a nice place with decent food and lots of tvs. The atmosphere could be a bit better like having the music play a bit louder.
The food and drinks were good it just took a really long time to get our food .
Great experience and made us feel special
first time here....was very happy with the menu and also the service. will come
back again for a very diversified happy hour menu!
We enjoyed a great brunch! Definitely a great environment for brunch and good service. It was obviously busy. We waited nearly an hour for our food to arrive and when it did, our vegan friend’s food had to be remade, which took another 15 minutes for a breakfast burrito. Luckily, we were enjoying drinks and catching up, so the delay wasn’t a big deal. Also, my friend got her first “man-mosa” in a pint glass with regular beer, but her second came in a smaller glass and tasted totally different. Besides the long wait for food, everything else was good.
Though the food was exceptional, the service and the drinks definitely took away from the overall experience. It appeared that they were understaffed and as it took forever (30 min for oysters?) for food or drink to be delivered or offered. Cocktails were “meh” at best. Come for the food though! Crab cakes were wonderful!
Loved the server. He was awesome. Good delivery was poor since my daughter's Mac and cheese balls weren't ready when other entrees were ready and they came when we were done eating. No charge was taken off bill. My daughter didn't enjoy eating alone.
Oysters were the special but they came like warm and without the sauce we ordered. When we got the servers attention she was apologetic and said she would put in for another order. We didn't get them until we were almost done with our dinner and they were ordered as an appetizer. Reservations were at 4:45 but once the restaurant got busier, the server forgot us. Loved the atmosphere though! Unfortunately, not sure I would recommend or go back.
Great food and service. Would definitely recommend.
Amazing bottomless mimosas and brunch food!
Oysters were great. Drinks were great. Food was average at best.
Amazing food and service!
Nice experience overall. Table was near the door and drafty but still enjoyed experience overall. Server was attentive, drinks were good.
Been there two times this week and about to go there again for dinner tonight. We’ve lived three blocks away for years and just went there for the first time this week. Very happy we found we found this gem!
Service was attentive and friendly, brunch food itself was just okay. Not great, not terrible. Drinks were good and great price.
We had a pleasant, tasty meal here. Restaurant has formerly been under a number of previous names & formats but this is the best so far. Restaurant has a number of tasty, creative pizzas & cocktails are very good for the price. Menu prices are a good value.
We had a great time at Blackbird for my daughter's birthday! We were seated immediately and our server was excelletn - personal but professional. The food was delicious and we enjoyed the atmosphere.
My husband and I went to Blackbird with another couple. The happy hour menu was great! They also had $10 bottomless wings that evening. The service was pretty good. Our waitress was nice but she didn't visit our table often so re-ordering wings and drink orders took some time. The pizza was good with thin crust. We would go back for happy hour.
Great experience- it was our first time at Blackbird, and we'll definitely be back. Great deal on raw oysters ($1 each), and the rest of the food was wonderful, too. We were there during the middle of the afternoon, which is likely why the restaurant was so quiet, but the staff was friendly, the service was prompt, and the place had a great vibe.
Has nice ambience and a very comfortable place to go. Pizza that they offer is great -- crust is delicious. Have a nice selection of wines and beers. Nice casual menu . The wait staff is very welcoming and efficient.
First time here since it was The Handlebar. Server was awesome and friendly. Food was very good. Incredibly helpful to be able to make reservations for Sunday Brunch as we were joined by my mother for whom waiting (i.e. perhaps standing) for a table is really hard. Teenage daughter (hard to impress), asked if we could go "every Sunday": and, we live an hour away. Noise was no problem until just before we left when an enthusiastic group were seated next to us. No problem though, they seemed to be having a good time. We really enjoyed ourselves and would definitely recommend.
We went to Blackbird prior to heading up to a concert at the Ogden. It was our second time at the restaurant. Seating was prompt with very attentive service. I enjoyed the beet salad. The Brussels Sprouts are excellent. One of our group had the Portabello Sandwich which was good, but not great. Another had the the mussels and gave them high marks. The Blackbird will be on our list of "we'll go back for sure" kind of places.
My food their burger was way over medium and my cheese was not melted. My sons pizza was not cooked and was doughy. Waiter Rubin tried his best but with all of the kitchen mistakes I will not go back. Mac and cheese bites literally had no salt.
Food was fantastic. Service was slow.
Excellent service, drinks & entrée selection.
The food was decent and the drinks were good. Service was a little lacking but overall the place is nice and I would go back
Blackbird contains an extensive menu, containing excellent pizza and appetizers. Their wrap-around bar is great to sit at to enjoy a beer and some food. They also have tvs for those looking to catch a sports game.
Food and drinks took forever cappuccinos were cold, burger over cooked , eggs Benedict cold. Server really tried but had no support from kitchen or management . P
Oysters are delicious! Forest pizza was very good as well as the burger. We will definitely be going back!
Fantastic service - food was delish! New favorite brunch spot!
While I read some good reviews about the seafood, I definitely advise people not to order the shrimp scampi. It tasted like butter noodles with shrimp on top.
Service was great. Love the food!
I have eaten at Blackbird several times, as it is within walking distance. I really loved their fried chicken, but unfortunately, it is no longer on the menu. I had the salmon and my sister had steak fries. We both really enjoyed our food.
