Really good food and super fun servers. Love it!
Great brunch and excellent service.
We enjoyed the food. The service was very good. But it was so noisy - we could barely hear one another. Several screaming babies.
But it was cute how the servers wrote my name on a chalkboard stand on the table.
The service was fantastic! They treated us wonderfully, we’ll definitely be back...thanks so much! We have nothing but great things to say, I could go on & on.
Love this place!! Great food and awesome service!!
Besides having 4 noisy children at surrounding tables, great experience.
The food was absolutely delicious! We all had a hard time choosing because everything sounded so great. The service was very good. We all plan to return!
Second time at the Blackbird and the brunch menu is very good, the food was good and the service was great. Also their coffee is really good and strong. I would definitely dine here again.
We loved every thing we ate! Food was amazing. Service was top notch! We will come again
Mediocre in every way. The server had an odd habit of walking away from our table while she was still talking, which made everything feel rushed. The food was absolutely unremarkable. There are much better restaurants within a block or two.
Friendly service. Made me feel they wanted to help me
Oysters were awesome, drinks were perfect!
Oysters were inedible and took an hour to arrive. The manager informed us after 30 minutes that it would be 10 minutes before they were delivered, but it actually took them another 30 minutes before they were set on the table. They tasted like they had been sitting outside in the heat all afternoon, we each (party of 8) ate one and promptly sent them back. If we had continued I am very confident we would have all gotten sick. The manager informed us that he didn't eat oysters, which I think is a major issue if you are serving raw shellfish and cannot tell if what you are serving is a health risk to your customers.
He comped the oysters, but we had to wait yet another 30 minutes before our entrees were served. Do not recommend.
Super slow service on a not very busy Sunday. 45 minutes from seated to food delivered to table. Green chili on burrito was terrific but everything else was average. Too many other fantastic breakfast spots to spend money here again.
2 simple breakfasts took 45 min to prepare, sub-par food & unattentive service. I was very disappointed
A really disappointing experience, the second in a row. Blackbird struggled during its early existence but had improved hugely in recent month. It now seems to be backsliding. It's a neighborhood place and we want it to succeed, but my l two visits over the last week were both not good. Kitchen service is terribly and inexplicably slow, and when food finally arrived, its quality was a shadow of what we'd come to expect. Soup arrived tasty but cold, pizza (which had been very good on prior visits) was prosaic and tepid. The Asian Steak Salad tasted more of sriracha than anything else, and the hot dessert arrived cold and undercooked doughy. Even bar service took seemingly forever late on a Wednesday night, even though the place was not terribly busy.
My favorite neighborhood gem. The pizza and salads are so good and creative. Great variety of menu items. Family friendly and consistently excellent customer service.
What a great addition to the Denver restaurant scene. The interior is a bit austere, but clean and comfortable. The service was perfect, attentive without being overbearing. The staff has all worked together in the past, and followed the chef to this spot. And the chef is really the star of the show. The flavors are bright, the vegetables are just-picked fresh and each component compliments the other. The recommended wines were both wonderful as well. I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough.
Reserved booth was waiting! Great service- good food and nice place! Easy parking!
This was a make-up mothers day brunch for two moms and it was awesome! Our waiter comped us some waffles and strawberries for our 'mother's day' and it was so unexpected and nice. We'll be back for father's day!
The grilled oysters, brussels and BlackBerry fennel goat cheese pizza were all amazing not too loud at the booth at the bar. Great ambiance and try the bartender's choice drink. I had a great tequila drink with St Germain and jalapeno simple syrup. 10/10 would recommend.
Great food and Corey, the manager, was fantastic! Our server was awkward and didn’t come by our table until after we had been seated for at least 20 minutes. She hardly stopped by the table after that even though it wasn’t busy that night. Luckily Corey was phenomenal and basically waited on us for the evening. The food and drinks were delicious and I will definitely be back!
Food, wine, and beer all good. They offer a lot of great options for vegetarians and vegans as well as meat-eaters. Especially enjoyed their Brussel Sprouts.
The service and food were excellent.
Great happy hour and new speciality pizzas
Due to a maintenance issue, we were referred to their Sister Restaurant, Rosedale. Our experience at "Rosedale" was excellent. The Smoked Chicken was delicious!!! Our server Joey was very pleasant, professional and attentive. We will definitely be back.
I made my reservation because both my girlfriend and I had been here before and it was perfectly adequate. We were seated quickly and our waitress quickly came by for our drink orders. We were without water, even after asking, for 30 minutes, and our appetizer was delivered without napkins, plates, or silverware. The lamb burger was overcooked and missing it's tzatziki, the French dip was overcooked and had a tiny cup of au jus, and the fries were greasy and undercooked. It's too bad because the location is great and I like the way the restaurant looks.
It took 30 minutes from being seated to have a server come by and greet us and bring water. Our food did not arrive until over an hour after that and we had to keep asking about it. We had a family member from out of town with us that night and we will never return after ridiculously slow service. Our server was trying his best but they were completely understaffed and no apology was made. We felt ignored all night. It would have been nice to have had our wait acknowledged. We also asked to move to another table because it was very cold where we were sitting and were told there was no space, though we saw numerous empty tables. People who arrived after us filled those empty seats and they received their meals an hour before we received ours. We’ve never had this kind of experience here and there are too many great restaurants in Denver to risk returning and having this happen again.
Food and service were great. We will definitely be back!
My friend's salmon was the smallest piece of salmon I have honestly ever seen served at a restaurant. My boyfriend paid $1 for a few flecks of sprinkled provolone on his snack sized french dip sandwich. I ordered the blackberry pizza much to my chagrin. Typically, ingredients on a menu are listed from the most prevalent to the least. The menu description is: "olive oil, goat cheese, fresh blackberries & jam, shaved fennel" HOWEVER in reality, I got a pizza with blackberry jam as the sauce, roughly 1 tablespoon of goat cheese, we counted 5 total pieces of shaved fennel, a few blackberries, and I'll have to assume that olive oil was used, but I couldn't taste it over the prevalence of the jam. I believe it was fresh dill that was caked on the top of it, but I couldn't taste that either because of the sheer amount of jam. The pizza crust was ok.
The service was nice, friendly, and timely. The ambience was loud, and the cacophony was increased by the dropping of flatware and glassware every 5 minutes.
Overall, I am embarrassed that I chose this place to take my friend who was visiting from out of town. I won't be back.
Very disappointing. The oysters were gritty. I guess the French dip sandwich was good, but nothing else was at all delicious (calamari, salad, pork chops). Maybe their pizza is good - if so, I'd suggest they stick to that.
The restaurant was very cool and great service. Thanks Sam! The kitchen fell behind so we had to wait for an hour for our food but it was Easter Sunday. Hopefully not a common occurrence but will go back again to give it another go.
We dined for Easter Brunch and it was absolutely awful. I wish I had read some reviews before our visit because it took one hour and fifteen minutes to get our food ~ a common thread in the reviews that I've read. If the food was good, we could have forgotten about the time, but this was not the case. My "prosciutto" Benny was ham (not even good ham) and it was cold. I asked for a biscuit instead of English muffin which was cold and tasteless; it had to be days old. The side of potatoes was warm, but so heavily seasoned; I've gotten my weeks worth of sodium in one side dish. My daughter had banana pancakes which were mediocre (and cold) The side of bacon was under-cooked and tasted like it was cooked early this morning - chewy and rubbery. Both our server and the manager seemed to not care one bit about our experience. The manager was unprofessional and didn't seem to know what to say or do. You couldn't pay me enough to go back to this restaurant.👎
We went there for Easter Sunday brunch. Food was good, portions were generous, but it took over an hour to get our food. I take into consideration that it was Easter, but with a couple of two-year-olds with us, it was pretty unacceptable. Our waiter got frustrated too that it took so long. Fun place, good food, but beware the wait.
Honestly, it was just ok. The food was good, but nothing amazing. I ordered a mimosa & the server didn’t mention I could have done bottomless. My daughters pancake was a little burnt too.
It was a lot of fun!
We really want to love Blackbird, but every time we go service is poor, specifically drink orders take far too long. We found ourselves asking about our drinks 3 times before they came out after our food had been served. The server was nice and intended well, just wasn’t attentive at all. The food is great but it’s a shame they can’t get it together to ensure the whole experience is enjoyable, to ensure recurring patrons.
Usually very good, but tonight things were a bit off
I read the reviews which said service was slow. I wasn't concerned because we were celebrating a birthday and wouldn't be in a hurry. However, service was downright annoying. It seemed only one server was staffed during a Thursday lunch. No acknowledgment that they were short-staffed. When we asked for a fresh fork after our salad bowls were removed, server stated she would need to wash some forks. We would have had a second glass of wine had she checked in. Too bad. The place is cute.
Service was a bit slow and entree had cooled down by the time it was served.
