Blackbird - Denver
Thursday - Friday 11:00am - midnight
Saturday 9:00am - midnight
Sunday 9:00am - 10:00pm
Good food, reasonable price. The welcome note at the table when i made the reservation was a very nice touch.
Visited on a Sunday afternoon not crowded at all. Upon arriving nobody at greeter stand we waited around for a few minutes someone finally moseyed up and we got our seats. I ordered a Bloody Mary, my wife ordered a coffee.
Bloody Mary showed up in 5 minutes but coffee never arrived. We waved the server down 15 minutes later and told him to cancel the coffee. Ordered the oysters which were fine, my sandwich was good but my wife’s tuna appetizer was tasteless. Overpriced for what you get.
We’ve been coming here about monthly over the past few years but probably won’t rush to come back anytime soon.
Poor service all around and overpriced food.
Met some friends at 5:30 for happy hour. They had a cute chalkboard sign on the table they held for me that said "Blackbird welcomes Colleen". I enjoyed a delicious hot toddy while I waited for friends, and was overjoyed to see Victory Golden Monkey in their rotating taps while I perused the menu. We all ordered a 12 inch pizza together and it was awesome! Great ambiance on a Thursday night, lively but definitely not too loud to enjoy conversation. When we ready to leave, the waitress happily split the pizza across our tabs, making payment easy. Overall great experience.
This was my 3rd visit for brunch. Being able to make a reservation for brunch on the weekend is awesome.
Cozy atmosphere. Great food. We had a party of 7 that were accommodated very well. Our server Chloe was great! I can highly recommend this place for brunch. Plan to come some evening and try the pizza.
They had the cutest welcome sign with my name on it when we arrived which made us feel so special. Unfortunately, we could not hear each other talk due to some very loud other customers on the other side of the restaurant. The oysters were either frozen or something was off because they were almost impossible to remove from the shells. The Margherita Pizza was delicious! Thick and doughy crust. Our waitress was attentive but busy from the rush. Drinks were fine but very mild for cocktails. They had such great deals advertised which is what drew us in, unfortunately I don't think we would try it again.
There were only two tables with patrons when we arrived - from the time we were seated until someone brought us water it was nine minutes. My son’s pancakes were still batter on the inside. The bacon was cold and chewy and limp. We weren’t offered refills on our water. The bill came and I had a Dining out passbook - After they took off one of the kids meals they brought back my passbook sopping wet – it is ruined now. No explanation or apology was provided. We will not be back.
Service was very friendly, professional - but the kitchen/bar was sloooow. Plenty of time to chat...
Host didn’t even acknowledge us for 3 minutes (standing 3 feet in front of us, mind you), restaurant completely ran out of milk (for coffee) by noon, and the food was subpar due to lack of seasoning, poor construction and questionably cooked salmon. Cute atmosphere with a plethora of televisions for Sunday football, but not worth the trip otherwise. There are way too many gems in Denver for this place to stand...
Nothing about the food at Blackbird was truly bad, but absolutely nothing about it was impressive. We went in for brunch on Sunday morning, didn't seem incredibly busy. That being said, they brought out all 4 of our dishes at the same time and mine was completely cold. I sent it back to have it warmed up because I wasn't about to eat cold over easy eggs. When I got it back, it was warm, but I received minimal bacon and not their candied bacon like I had asked for and I got fried eggs instead of over easy. The dish was fine, but I was so turned off by the whole experience. The only good thing that Blackbird did that day was the service. The server was very nice about the whole thing and was very generous about my meal situation.
First time here!! It was an amazing experience the team working was awesome and very friendly!! The food was delicious! Best part of all they had my name written on a chalkboard on a table telling everyone I reserved a spot!! That was hands down pretty darn awesome in my eyes. I will be back!!!
We experienced poor service and sub par food. Our silverware was dirty and coffee was cold, even after sending it back for a warm up.
My favorites are: the grilled oysters, & pasta carbonara.
Wonderful atmosphere and perfect service. The signature drinks were fun and thoughtful, and the happy hour drinks are very well priced for the quality. The noise level is mitigated by dampeners making it perfect to catch up with family in a thriving scene without having to talk over the ambient sounds.
I miss the Handlebar, but Blackbird for the win!
My French fries were undercooked. My brother-in-law had to send his undercooked mussels back. My sister-in-law's Mac and cheese was bland. Our waitress was unconcerned. We probably won't go back.
Really good food and super fun servers. Love it!
Great brunch and excellent service.
We enjoyed the food. The service was very good. But it was so noisy - we could barely hear one another. Several screaming babies.
But it was cute how the servers wrote my name on a chalkboard stand on the table.
The service was fantastic! They treated us wonderfully, we’ll definitely be back...thanks so much! We have nothing but great things to say, I could go on & on.
Love this place!! Great food and awesome service!!
Besides having 4 noisy children at surrounding tables, great experience.
The food was absolutely delicious! We all had a hard time choosing because everything sounded so great. The service was very good. We all plan to return!
Second time at the Blackbird and the brunch menu is very good, the food was good and the service was great. Also their coffee is really good and strong. I would definitely dine here again.
We loved every thing we ate! Food was amazing. Service was top notch! We will come again
Mediocre in every way. The server had an odd habit of walking away from our table while she was still talking, which made everything feel rushed. The food was absolutely unremarkable. There are much better restaurants within a block or two.
Friendly service. Made me feel they wanted to help me
Oysters were awesome, drinks were perfect!
Oysters were inedible and took an hour to arrive. The manager informed us after 30 minutes that it would be 10 minutes before they were delivered, but it actually took them another 30 minutes before they were set on the table. They tasted like they had been sitting outside in the heat all afternoon, we each (party of 8) ate one and promptly sent them back. If we had continued I am very confident we would have all gotten sick. The manager informed us that he didn't eat oysters, which I think is a major issue if you are serving raw shellfish and cannot tell if what you are serving is a health risk to your customers.
He comped the oysters, but we had to wait yet another 30 minutes before our entrees were served. Do not recommend.
Super slow service on a not very busy Sunday. 45 minutes from seated to food delivered to table. Green chili on burrito was terrific but everything else was average. Too many other fantastic breakfast spots to spend money here again.
2 simple breakfasts took 45 min to prepare, sub-par food & unattentive service. I was very disappointed
A really disappointing experience, the second in a row. Blackbird struggled during its early existence but had improved hugely in recent month. It now seems to be backsliding. It's a neighborhood place and we want it to succeed, but my l two visits over the last week were both not good. Kitchen service is terribly and inexplicably slow, and when food finally arrived, its quality was a shadow of what we'd come to expect. Soup arrived tasty but cold, pizza (which had been very good on prior visits) was prosaic and tepid. The Asian Steak Salad tasted more of sriracha than anything else, and the hot dessert arrived cold and undercooked doughy. Even bar service took seemingly forever late on a Wednesday night, even though the place was not terribly busy.
My favorite neighborhood gem. The pizza and salads are so good and creative. Great variety of menu items. Family friendly and consistently excellent customer service.
Reserved booth was waiting! Great service- good food and nice place! Easy parking!
This was a make-up mothers day brunch for two moms and it was awesome! Our waiter comped us some waffles and strawberries for our 'mother's day' and it was so unexpected and nice. We'll be back for father's day!
The grilled oysters, brussels and BlackBerry fennel goat cheese pizza were all amazing not too loud at the booth at the bar. Great ambiance and try the bartender's choice drink. I had a great tequila drink with St Germain and jalapeno simple syrup. 10/10 would recommend.
Great food and Corey, the manager, was fantastic! Our server was awkward and didn’t come by our table until after we had been seated for at least 20 minutes. She hardly stopped by the table after that even though it wasn’t busy that night. Luckily Corey was phenomenal and basically waited on us for the evening. The food and drinks were delicious and I will definitely be back!
Food, wine, and beer all good. They offer a lot of great options for vegetarians and vegans as well as meat-eaters. Especially enjoyed their Brussel Sprouts.
The service and food were excellent.
Great happy hour and new speciality pizzas
Due to a maintenance issue, we were referred to their Sister Restaurant, Rosedale. Our experience at "Rosedale" was excellent. The Smoked Chicken was delicious!!! Our server Joey was very pleasant, professional and attentive. We will definitely be back.
I made my reservation because both my girlfriend and I had been here before and it was perfectly adequate. We were seated quickly and our waitress quickly came by for our drink orders. We were without water, even after asking, for 30 minutes, and our appetizer was delivered without napkins, plates, or silverware. The lamb burger was overcooked and missing it's tzatziki, the French dip was overcooked and had a tiny cup of au jus, and the fries were greasy and undercooked. It's too bad because the location is great and I like the way the restaurant looks.
