Barbatella is my go to restaurant for almost any occasion, from enjoying a great pizza and beer to a gourmet Italian meal. The servers are all European, many from Italy and provide exceptional service. Also if you're by yourself the bar is a very comfortable alternative with good TV viewing.
Nice dinner on their terrace. Great server, all enjoyed their meal. Nice night.
We are huge fans of this restaurant. We come to Naples twice a year for vacation and this is our “go to”. We promise ourselves we are going to try a new restaurant each time, but end up returning to the jewel of Naples. Highly recommend.
Excellent craft cocktails and wine selection. Nice menu with quality food. Beautiful patio. Friendly, attentive service.
Excellent food, amazing ambiance and overall great experience.
Terrible seating between the gelato stand and mozzarella bar in what seemed like a separate building. Waiter was polite but food was uneven. Two diners had the same dish, but only one had sufficient bolognese sauce. Multiple diner but first big miss here.
Wonderful food and wines.... great service
Wonderful outdoor setting. Just wish the food was better - pasta's just not great. Good bar, nice staff. We will continue to go as we love ambiance.
Nice location and setting. Good staff but the food wasn’t as good as we were hoping for.
Had a wonderful dinner and will definitely be coming back! Our food was hot and served quickly - also extremely tasty! We were able to sit outside with a stroller nearby for my baby and it wasn’t a problem. Loved the piano player and the ambiance. Perfect evening!
Though we love the food, and courteous service, it was quite noisy this Sat. The four of us all loved our meal . The salad and our special -made lasagna was so yummy. The entertainment was very pleasant, and we did all enjoy ourselves
I made this reservation online via OpenTable about 2 weeks prior. I requested a table outside (weather permitting), which we did receive & it was perfect. I will also note, we were seated immediately . The service was great as was the entertainment. Two had flatbread pizzas that were just okay this time, but it could have been the type they tried. I've had them before & loved them! Two others had past which was delicious. Barbatellas is on of our favorites when visiting Naples!
Been here several times and food is consistently good every time. Staff is friendly, knowledgeable and quick. Highly recommend this restaurant
Food was not up to par. All the fish was very fishy calamari and clams. Will not be returning.
We had an 8:30 reservation, with grandkids and Barbatella called, asking us to call back and confirm, which we did. Sadly, when we checked in early and returned at 8:30, no table was ready for us. In fact, a table sufficient for 7 was being broken up into two 4-tops. The hostess said they had prior reservations they had to accommodate. So, our family waited. After 15 minutes, in fact, the two tables were reassembled into a 7-top, but we weren't seated for another 10 minutes. Then, we waited and waited for service. Finally, my husband asked for a waiter at after 45 minutes, we were able to order dinner. By this time, our youngest grandchild was overtired and curled up on the chair to fall asleep. If they could not accommodate our party, I wish they hadn't confirmed the reservation. We will not return with a party over 4, in spite of visiting this restaurant many times over the past two years. :-(
The server was friendly and nice just not attentive and a bit presumptuous. My wife ordered a sparkling water and I a glass of wine. As the server is walking away she says a bottle? My reply was no my wife is pregnant. Our drinks arrive with no sparkling water and two glasses of wine. I didn’t make a fuss as I was going to have a second with my meal. We ordered the trio of mozzarella. It was good but the plate was quickly dropped off without any explanation of what the three different mozzarella’s were. We liked the middle one best, but couldn’t order it separately in the future as we do not know which it was. My entree was excellent with the pasta being cooked al dente. My wife’s was just okay she picked at it but didn’t really eat it. Her reasons was there was a ton of crushed red pepper in it. Would have been fine but was not listed on the menu. The dessert was top notch.
Once or twice a month they put on a "pop-up" Opera show, to augment the "authentic Italian" atmosphere without being too campy - and it works.
This was my second visit.
Sadly, tonight’s experience was very mediocre.
The food was OK, but the service was sub par.
It seemed like the waiter was in his first week on the job. 2 of us ordered pasta and the other ordered pizza.
The runner tossed our plates on the table and disappeared. We waited 10 minutes before our waiter returned and we could ask for grated cheese on the pasta.
We finished dinner and ordered 3 coffees. The coffee was Luke warm. None of the wait staff ever asked us how our meal tasted or if everything was OK.
I have 2 more business dinners scheduled for Barbatellas in the next week. I am seriously considering changing to a restaurant that will deliver an experience that justifies paying $24 for a plate of pasta!!
Dinner was veal parm n very lightly breaded n sauce tastey. Not traditional sauce but good. More like fresh crushed tomatoes n cheese. Fresh. Papadella past n may sauce...again tastey.
Server could have a bit more attentive but he was nice.
As always a great meal with great service. The outside seating is the best on 3rd.
Horrible music w/ poor sound. Very noisy not a good evening for the $ spent. Pasta dishes were very bland; no taste. Disappointing. We will not go back.
Cutest waitress and great live music. We really enjoyed our night.
Great location, but food and service were just average.
Great food, great food and fun environment with live music
I have taken people there before for lunch and the service is ungodly I was there with four people I ordered a salad and calamari to put on top of myself they made me wait 20 minutes for the calamari my guest are all finished eating and then they were at the calamari and I told him to take it back the waiter was not a very good waiter at all I haven’t been there for years and I will make sure I never go back againAnd I forgot to mention the manager did nothing about it didn’t even come over and apologize because I approached him and told him what was going on he wasn’t a very good manager every restaurant on third Street was for except them so goes to show you what the service is like in there and the food
We have recommended Barbatella to so many people!
Food, ambiance. And service...all excellent! Prices in Naples can be over the top. This restaurant doesn’t gouge it’s patrons. Food is phenomenal!!
Great food and service
Disappointed. Normally one of my favorites.
Husband wanted Cabernet so waiter recommended 2. I asked for wine list so I was sure of price and no surprises were coming. He pointed to the two and they were $8. I later ordered a glass of the same. We get the bill and it says $32 for 2 glasses of wine. I questioned him and he showed me where a double was $16. We didn’t order doubles. He never asked. For that reason I would not come back. Waiters hike the bill so they get a bigger tip. Our meal was not worth $110+$20 tip. People with or without money do not like to be taken advantage of.
Nice place, great location with excellent fairly priced apps, pizza and pasta dishes. Their other dinner options have gotten rather pricey for the type of restaurant it is.
Good food great wine
This is one of Old Naples finest eateries! Since everything on the menu sounded incredible we decided to share some smaller plates in order to taste as many dishes as possible. We began with the Mozzarella Trio, including Buffalo Mozzarella, Burratina and we requested the third be the Smoked Mozzarella, drizzled with sumptuous olive oil. Next came the Crispy Calamari and Artichokes. The accompanying lemon aioli was light and tangy - wonderful. Being lovers of a good grilled octopus, the Charred Octopus, served with chippolini onions and fingerling potatoes came next. We couldn’t pass up the namesake Barbatella Pizza even with a gluten free crust was the best I have ever had! 10 stars!
There is a great wine selection and lots available in 3 and 6 oz glasses.
We will return many time to finish exploring this menu.
I simply love this place. Great food and atmosphere.
The wait staff was very attentive and the food was great
Maitre De was surly verging on rude. Other serving staff were brusque and disinterested. It was noisy and outdoor lighting poor. We could barely see each other let alone the food . Which was a shame because the food was actually pretty good.
Lovely booth inside. We wanted to be outside, but that didn’t happen. Not a big deal. Food was marvelous. Service very very good. Great vibes here. Never disappointed
Lasagna, Caesar salad was delicious. Desserts were our if this world good. The waiter made us want to come back again and again.
We love Barbatella ,authentic Italian food a nd atmosphere, appreciate holding table outside beautiful patio .
When I made my reservation I requested a table outside and under the canopy. When I arrived they were about to seat us indoors. When I mentioned that I requested an outdoor table, the staff had an attitude with me and said “everyone wants an outdoor table” and said I would have to wait half hour if I wanted to sit outside. However, they were able to come up with a table as I requested it, within just minutes.
My husband and I enjoyed our dinner. The portions were a little smaller than what we have had at other restaurants but the food was very tasty and the prices were reasonable. Will definitely return for another meal.
