Bao Brewhouse is a multi-concept restaurant, the first floor is known as the tap room, in which you will find service via QRL codes or counter service, Chinese street food inspired fare and a local rotating draft list. No reservations in the tap room folks, this a first come first served experience! The second floor is known as our Tea Room, there you will find a more traditional dining experience with a twist. The Tea Room menu and ambiance lend to more curated and intimate affair, with a vast tea selection ranging from herbal to puer, a thoughtfully selected wine list with a focus on natural wine and a tea-centric cocktail program to satisfy even the most adventurous of palates. The Tea room is open from Thursday through Saturday with a live DJ every night giving the room a not-so-stuffy feeling (we call it high energy fine dining)

Great food. The short rib fried rice was some of the best I’ve ever had. Would highly recommend that.
Ordering food was a little confusing at first (no one explained anything to us) but we loved the food and environment.
Kelly was amazing and super helpful. Thank you, Kelly!
Really excellent experience! The ambiance is super cool, especially if you can get a spot up in the "tea room". The drinks were awesome and so was the food. Our waiter, Ian, was super cool, he really made the experience for us. We can't wait to come back!
My boyfriend and I ate upstairs in the Tea Room. The food was delicious and unique. The atmosphere was perfect for a date night. The GM is awesome! He stopped by our table to make sure everything with our dining experience was going well and provided great suggestions on the menu.
Peking Duck was very good. Place is very loud and we kept being reminded by the staff that they need to turnover tables every 90 minutes. Won't be going back.
Such an amazing spot! The vibe is amazing.
Awesome service food and drinks
Had the chicken wings they were amazing with the five spice rub definitely recommend the bartender was super nice and it was quite and very nice in there
Food is great. Vibe is rad.
I have eaten downstairs and loved it. I made a reservation and they told me it would be upstairs but never mentioned it was a completely different menu so we were disappointed we couldn’t get what we were looking for and it was twice the price.
The staff was so accommodating for our big party. The food was incredible and they were very helpful in accommodating to my dietary needs. I had also misplaced my phone and the staff including the owner were helping to look for my phone. They had even messaged me the next day to check in to see if I had found it. This place is full of high vibes, great staff, perfect environment for any occasion, and the food is delicious!!! Thank you Bao Brewhouse!
Bao Brewhouse was awesome! It has a great vibe, food and service terrific and loved the specialty cocktails.
We booked for a birthday dinner with a party of seven. Not only did they sit us immediately, but they also accommodated our request to move to the other half of the restaurant during a busy dinner service! The entire staff was friendly and made our birthday girl feel so special! Every food dish looked and tasted wonderful and we even had a few “best I’ve ever had”s in regards to cocktails and dishes. Also, great playlist all night. I really recommend checking this spot out. Cocktails are creative, flavorful, and they use some of my favorite liquors that other restaurants don’t, like Wheatley vodka.
While the overall design of the downstairs “tap room” is nice, the high top tables with uncomfortable barstools felt like they ran out of energy or money to finish the space. I was disappointed in the food, which was greasy and overall a miss this time, but I’ll be back to try the upstairs “tea room”
Service was fantastic, really tasty drinks, food was very good though the soup dumplings are pot stickers containing no soup. The pork bao bun (not huge) was super tasty but for 10+ dollars was steep as far as pricing goes. The vibe is great, love what they've done with the old Euclid Hall. It'll be a fun spot when things have fully opened back up but a bit pricey for what you got.
Such a cool atmosphere! They really made this a cool spot! The pork fried rice is probably the best dish I’ve ever consumed!!!
Fun and vibrant vibe. Food is excellent. Will be back!
I never do reviews but I have to say something about our visit at Bao Brewhouse. First I must give the wait staff high marks for trying. Right up front they said they were all learning the restaurant’s process. They were attentive....but the experience ended there. The food was mediocre. The short rib bun was off. I ordered the soft shell crab with red rice. One tiny little crab and a HUGE bowl of rice. No one could eat that much rice and it was also tasteless. My husband ordered dim sum and having lived in San Francisco for 6 years this was not good dim sum. My son ordered a duck dish that was the best of all our orders but it wasn’t worth the price by a long shot. The music was too loud...why do restaurants do that?? The music is so loud people have to scream at each other. Of course most of the time dining guests are on their devices and don’t engage in conversations. The lighting was horrible. When you have to use your phone light to see the menu it’s time to leave. It was like they didn’t want you to see what they were serving you. We will never go back and I’ll never recommend the restaurant. In addition I will also say they are WAY OVER PRICED for the experience and the quality of the food.
The staff is great, the food is good and the ambience is perfect. I will be back!
Our server, Whitney, was amazing and gave us wonderful guidance. Each of the dishes she recommended blew us away. Our favorite among them was the beef and broccolini. Highly recommend!
The food was so good, we reordered the starters (chicken wings and soup dumplings) two more times before having our mains. The sauces, particularly agent orange, were delicious and truly hot, when usually hot means medium. Our server, Ian, was fantastic- personable, fun, knowledgeable, proud of the offerings. We were a large group celebrating my daughter's 20th birthday, so went at 4 pm to make it easier on staff.
Great experience, and we'd definitely go back.
Really cool ambiance - loved the difference between the downstairs and upstairs and the cocktails were amazing.
The DJ in the upstairs tea house really created an amazing mood. Definitely recommend!
So much fun!
I wasn't expecting this to be authentic Chinese food and have been to other places that do Chinese fusion well. However, at Bao Brewhouse, the food was not good at all. Shrimp dumplings were filled with sandpapery, minced shrimp meat that didn't have any flavor. The bao buns were soggy by the time they were delivered to our table and the kung pao tofu had an overpowering vinegar flavor. The mien noodles were overcooked and mushy and the flavor was just spicy without any umami or salt to balance it out. The music was way too loud to have any decent conversation.
The staff was great ++ the food was amazing. 10/10 recommend.
I ate at Bao on a quiet Sunday night with a group of friends, we are all from out of town so we were excited to eat here as this is one of the better reviewed restaurants in Denver. It did not disappoint, the decor is as cool as the pictures show, the food was tasty, and the servers were pleasant and friendly. The only thing I would note is that we sat at a hightop table downstairs, which works perfectly for a group, and it did not seem like anyone was being seated upstairs, where the traditional dining tables are located. I would definitely recommend Bao to anyone in the area.
Thank you for your review and I'm glad you enjoyed the experience. We have been working hard to create something unique for our guests. You are correct the downstairs Tap room is meant to be more of a quick service bar/street food restaurant that is built for casual dinners. Our upstairs Tea Room will be open Thurs-Sat with a more elevated experience with larger dishes and a more complex menu. We trying to offer something for each guest. Please try the Tea Room next time you are in Den
Food was terrible! Ordered 5+ items and returned all of them to the kitchen. Didn’t seem like any fresh ingredients were used.
Sorry you didn't enjoy your experience with us. WE make everything by hand and fresh everyday. Maybe you got us on an off night. Would love for you to try us again. We also are opening upstairs this weekend maybe you can try that experience and it would fit your expectations a little more. Please give us another chance, I promise we won't disappoint
Good choice of vegetarian and vegan options, all our food was really tasty and we will definitely return. Very friendly staff, very helpful with food suggestions. Thanks Kelly V, you were great and glad we had time to talk. Yes, some of the seating is bar style so you end up facing the wall, but with just two of us that wasn't an issue. There's plenty regular tables as well, so don't let this put you off. Great choice of beer and options for cider and hard kombucha for non beer drinkers. It'll be interesting to see what changes when the second floor opens. Overall, very happy we tried Bao and we will be back.
This was my third time dining here and it did not disappoint! We had the chicken and meatball skewers, pork belly fried rice and le ho fook noodle dish. They have large portions with amazing flavor. Check it out!
Thank you for being a frequent guest. We are opening our upstairs this weekend so you can try something different the next time you come in. We love our repeat guests and thank you for leaving such a positive review.
Place is amazing. Good food, good music. This place elevates Denver dining scene. Already booked another reservation
The dumplings are to die for. Personal favorite - soup dumplings, they were so juicy. Tofu bao was great too, it's sweet flavor gave it a different twist. And lastly the stir fry - I'd just say it was so simple yet so flavorful. So much different than the usual stir fry. Oh and yeah the drinks were great too.
Sadly they were out of chicken skewers.
The staff was amazing, they were nice and welcoming. And they are following social distancing.
Great spot and very fun vibe! The food was very good, but all came out in a shuffle - apps and mains at the same time, not everyone got their meals at the same time, etc. The bar was completely overrun. The drinks were good, but cocktails were very slow to come out. Great spot! seems to be still working out the kinks.
The ambiance was awesome! I will say I 100% picked it for the vibe it seemed to give and it lived up to the photos. The food was good, the ideas behind them were brilliant, but the execution was so-so. I will come back, no question, but I wouldn’t hype up their food to a level of amazing. Overall good experience and a fun time with family!
Ambiance is stuffy
Went for dinner but left after appetizers and drinks. Just wasn't really enjoying the food, the place was loud and because of the way the seating was arranged (we were all sitting at bar stools in a line facing the wall) we couldn't hear each other. Sadly, probably won't go back.
Jordan, Im so sorry you didn't enjoy your experience with us. The downstairs is built to be more of a bar with community seating. Thats why we have all of those bar seats. Good news is we will be opening upstairs very soon which will be more of an intimate dining experience. Please come back and check us out when we have the Tea Room open. I think that will be more your speed. Once again sorry you didn't enjoy our Tap Room. We'd love to have you back when the upstairs is open. Michael
Went for a friends bday dinner. Ian the GM got us a great spot to sit at the bar and loved seeing all the cocktail creations head to the other patrons. Courtney was the lead server and belong to train some staff and it was fun to ask questions and we would all learn. We had the awesome wings and tried all the sauces. They were great to let us split the pork belly fried rice and the drunken empress noodles. We tried a few fun beers but the crouching tiger specialty drink was our fav. Excited to get back!
AELCMGLL, Thanks for coming in. Really great to hear the you go to know the staff on a personal basis as well as learning how we do things first hand. Keep a look out for the future as we will be opening upstairs soon and you can meet more staff and try different types of cocktails. Thanks for your positive review. Michael
My new favorite spot!!!
Keep coming back!!!! We are just going to get better and better the more we can open. Thanks, Michael
Absolutely incredible atmosphere and delicious food. Small plates, entrees, and cocktails were all fantastic, 10 out of 10 across the board. Innovative and very robust selection of menu options. My new favorite Asian cuisine restaurant in Denver hands down - highly recommend!
Lance, Thanks for coming and and hanging out with us. Hope to see more of you in the future. Your kind words are much appreciated. Thanks, Michael
TRY THIS PLACE! The ambiance is trendy and beautiful. Menu selection is large and we were able to try a lot of things- all of which were flavorful and tasty. Can’t wait to go back!
Native Eater, I'm glad you enjoyed your experience here. Can't wait to have you back. Our restaurant will be evolving and getting better as we can open up more. Thanks for the kind words and looking forward to your return. Thanks, Michael
