Aquarium Restaurant - Downtown Denver Ratings and Reviews
This was my wife and I first time visiting this restaurant. We were in town from Chicago. The food was good and the service was nice. They even gave us a military discount. There's a gift shop where we bought a couple things. We set directly in front of the Aquarium. The fish were beautiful!
This place was beyond amazing! The food was fantastic! I ordered the catch of the day which was trout fish with a side of rice mixed with crawfish, shrimps and Scallops. The seasoning and special sauce they put in the plate was so good! The service was also great. Her waitress was very attentive. I will definitely come back here!
Food overall was very disappointing. The red fish and the sauce served on it was bland, and the vegetables served with it were soggy, like they had been microwaved, or reheated. Could not get them down. The calamari appetizer was served with some type of marinara sauce that, again was bland. Was expecting an aioli sauce for the price. The fish and chips tasted liked they had been fryed in oil that was several weeks old. Way overpriced for the quality of the meal served. Sadly, We won’t be back.
Great place to bring your out of town guests! Downtown Aquarium Restaurant is just that - a restaurant alongside the aquarium glass where your view is constantly changing throughout your meal. Allow additional time - not because of service issues (the service is excellent) but because everyone in your party will want to linger as you watch the tropical fish. (Don't try to time this restaurant around a concert or sports game.) Even the kids love it and remain engaged for an hour to an hour and a half in this unique dining experience, and then you can follow your meal with another hour walking through the exhibit upstairs. Tip: check the website before you go, click on Mermaids for showtimes in the dining room. If you time it just right, the mermaids will swim in the tank during your meal. Also, parking is free if your restaurant receipt is time-stamped 6:00 p.m. or after, and most nights there are discounts on the Aquarium itself (entrance next door) if you show your restaurant receipt time-stamped after 6:00 p.m. Join Landry's Select for birthday rewards - we saved around $75 this visit alone. The seafood menu is fantastic, difficult to accommodate my daughter's seafood allergy, however, due to the fryer being used both for fries and the seafood itself. Only negative: the pricing of the cocktails is outrageous, $9.99 if you don't keep the souvenir glass - not worth it, and there is no happy hour or drink special, which is frankly ridiculous. Kids love the kids menu including mac n cheese, pizza, etc and they love the rice krispie treat in the shape of a Sharkey you can "paint" with paint brushes and food coloring. This is an annual tradition for us, and a great experience anytime you want to dine downtown. Worth the drive!
We recieved a $200 gift card to get a membership for my family of 5 to the aquarium, a punch card with 4 discounts and 4 - $10 reward gift cards for an Xmas present.
We have had a membership a few years ago but never ate at the restaurant. We thought it would be fun to do both. I also had a free kids meal coupon. I presented the punch card asking to use the 20% off and the free kids meal coupon before we ordered. It wasn't until we were eating when the manager came over and said we could only use one coupon. The 20% was a better value. Then when we went to pay, I gave the waitress the reward gift cards plus my credit card. She then came back and told us that we could only use 1-$10 reward gift card. We were under the impression that the 4 cards were $40 in gift cards. So talk about a total disappointment when we expected to have a free kids meal, 20% off and $40 off our bill anded up paying most of the bill. We will never eat at that restaurant again nor any Landrys restaurants so the other 3 cards will go to waste.
We were told by the waitress that the person who bought us the Xmas present received the $10 rewards gift card for every $50 he spent. I have heard of restaurants given bonus gift cards for buying $xx amount of gift cards but never that you would use only use 1 at a time. That is ridiculous!!!
Waitress was horrible! She was rude and unprofessional! Manager was much better! The burger was good. The salmon was dry and the kids grilled shrimp was covered in way too much pepper. Loved the atmosphere and the mermaids were great! They were only out for about 5 minutes while we were there though and we didn't know until right before they went in so we didn't get to see much of them.
The menu is uninspired, surprisingly devoid of interesting seafood options. It’s certainly overpriced for the quality you receive. You can get higher quality and more value from Red Lobster, which isn’t saying much. The staff seems to know all of this, but can’t make up for it with lackluster service.
We went for a family reunion party of 8 the service was excellent, I regret not remembering the name of the waitress, he went that extra step to please everybody with a smile and also arrange with the mermaids show, So we can see it, cuz we were after show hours. My next time in Denver for sure I'll visit Aquarium Restaurant again.the food was amazing!!!!
The food and service was very good. Not for adults only parties since it is designed to cater to families and groups of varying compositions are seated in amongst of each other. As the evening progressed, atmosphere was quieter and more “adult”.
A touch expensive for all but a special occasion meal (ours was Christmas dinner).
