Aquarium Restaurant - Downtown Denver
I was very disappointed with how the food tastes. I ordered the grilled shrimp. My plate was over served with vegetables, a tablespoon of rice and a few shrimp. My husband ordered a salad that came after his dinner. He also ordered the fried captains plate. Fried is an understatement. Everything was extremely crunchy and over seasoned. I was hoping for a nice dinner to go with the beautiful scenery. But I was so disappointed.
The food was amazing. We sat right next to the tropical aquarium, which was a huge hit with our daughter. The staff were all very friendly.
It was good, I appreciate the menu variations with chef inspired dishes. Dessert was just as good! Nice job!
Poor experience as waited 20 minutes before we had a waiter then another 10 before we even had water/drinks. Food was good but experience ruined.
Always a wonderful time. :) Tatiana was great! Loved the atmosphere and food. We will be returning in the near future.
It was a great experience! We enjoyed it tremendously!
On a Friday evening, when the rest of the Denver restaurant scene is in overdrive, this was a quiet and serene dining experience. The food was fine, the servers were cheerful and courteous and it was so nice to be able to relax and have a quiet conversation.
My wife and I love watching the fish go by. Food was great. Over all was a good experience.
The aquarium restaurant was a fun experience before going in to check out the fish. It was cool because you have a view of the tanks from every table in the restaurant. The mermaid show was awesome so I highly recommend going at a time you can see that. The food was pretty good the only thing I was disappointed with was the instant mashed potatoes. Overall decent experience and I would eat there again if we ever go back to the aquarium.
Our server Emily was great! Cassie the manager visited our table and introduced herself. Excellent Broiled Seafood Platter and wonderful service. Thank you Cassie & Emily.
My mom was in town and we wanted to do something cool for dinner. I heard this place was good. And how cool that there are fish swimming all around you. Boy was I mistaken!! When we get in the door there is very little indication where the dining room is. Once you walk along the very narrow pathway through the very childish gift store with children running wild we got to the host stand. The host was on the phone via Bluetooth. She didn’t look at us once she started talking which is so rude. We get seated at the front table of the restaurant; the glass is so foggy, the carpet is old and smelly, the menu is nothing to write home about. The service to get drinks was great I have nothing bad to say about that. However, we decided the price was not worth the bad atmosphere and we left. I expected so much more!! So disappointing. This place has so much potential but has missed the mark completely. Totally geared toward children so don’t pretend to be a fancy dining experience!!!
Great experience great food
All was good
We were celebrating my daughter’s 3 yo birthday with family and it was awesome! The kids loved watching the fish and the mermaid! Ceviche appetizer, shrimp tacos and artichoke dip were delicious!
The service is good and the restaurant is a unique experience. The food is very poor quality.
We began our visit to the aquarium with lunch at the Aquarium Restaurant. We were seated down some stairs next to the large fish tank where we could watch the fish while we ate. As we finished our meal, we saw the underwater mermaid performance. The food was great. The experience was definitely fun for the family. The variety of music coming from all the surrounding areas of the aquarium was the only complaint. I think there were at least 3 different songs playing at once, making it difficult to hear the restaurant music.
The food was really good. The ambiance was incredible. I mean dining near a huge fish tank?? C'mon.... It was relaxing. Peaceful. Great. I will be back
We love going to the Aquarium Restaurant! Watching the fish swim is just so very relaxing. We sat in a booth which was a little away from the windows when the mermaids swam, but many customers crowded up to the windows by the inner tables. We liked being away from that. We could still see pretty easily. The food was delicious and no one will ever go home hungry. I had the fish & chips. Yummy! My husband had a spicy, Cajun dish which he loved too. Our grandson had the cheeseburger sliders from the child’s menu. Everything was delicious! Our waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. I had a $.99 coupon for a child’s meal and a groupon. They took both of those without any issues. It was a fun outing! We will definitely go back!
it was the perfect place for a last night in town. Our server Matt i think was amazing and made our night even better.
Had a great time for our first time! Service from the staff was awesome, it was prompt and polite, We will be going back for happy hour next time! Matt seated us and was also our waiter, he made the experience more enjoyable, he was great with our kid to. I definitely recommend this place.
My wife and I come here about every time we come to Denver. This time we brought our kids and grandkids and as usual, the place is very entertaining to watch the fish in the aquarium right by our table. But one could expect the food to be less than good since they have such a great atmosphere... but their food is really good and our service was very good as well. I had made reservations online ahead of time for 10 of us and when they seated us, we asked to be closer to the aquarium, and they were able to do that. Very fun place to eat. We will be back again!
I went here for my 18th birthday and I loved it. I’ve been here before and it was great. I love the atmosphere! I will be returning! The mermaids were swimming around for a little while which made me so happy!
The ambience is amazing with a huge aquarium experience! Our timing was awesome and there was a lovely mermaid show. Cocktail was yummy but the food was just ok. The service was top notch!
We were celebrating my daughter's birthday, and had requested a table near mermaids. That was pretty amazing! However, our server was terrible, like she was way too busy to attend to us. Our water wasn't refilled. The food was not great. I ordered the vegan bowl and there was a weird sauce on the sweet potatoes, and half the veggies were cold. Additionally, because we had such an awesome table, little kids from all over the restaurant crowded around us while we were eating (not the restaurant's fault, but super uncool.) I loved the table. Everything else, well...
I would recommend, however the wait person left much to be desired. Not sure if they were new or overwhelmed but many of our needs went unattended. Beyond the service, the atmosphere is a great place for families.
The host was really cute and nice. The service was great. The food was really amazing, but not sure if it was worth the price, it might be fair priced. The waitresses were super nice and friendly.
Other than that, I wish I got a piece of the hot host.
The hostess and wait staff was very kind and trying hard but very behind in seating people, even with reservations. The kids meals were very large and could feed two kids easily. At lunch you had choice of regular menu, lunch menu or seasonal menu. Tip if you want to see mermaid show get seated 15 minutes before it starts and ask for table where it will be visible.
We went on a Monday night, not crowded at all. Liz was a fabulous server, didn’t miss a beat. And super patient with my kids. Manager came by and was super attentive and sweet. Didn’t catch his name. Fantastic experience. We loved it!!
Food was better than I thought it would be. Services was excellent, and of course the ambiance was great for a birthday party too!
Beautiful surroundings, every table has a great view of the Aquarium. We couldn’t ask for better service!
About 4 years ago I went here on vacation and I wanted to recreate that wonderful first visit with my friends who came to visit CO. That's not what I got.
It should have been a sign when we met up with some more of their friends that were locals and the first thing said was, "Of all the places in Denver, you guys actually want to eat here?" It was a bit embarrassing to have to explain that it had been awhile since I'd been to the Aquarium.
The fish tank shouldn't be the best thing about a restaurant. For the prices of the food, I expect unique and delicious food and excellent service. Truly, the food was overpriced and average and the service typical of an overcrowded and low-staffed family sit-down. You shouldn't have to remind staff more than once about something you asked for with a bowl of pasta costing almost $30. I expect and encourage kids to interact with the mermaids during the show, but again, with those kinda prices I'd rather not have a random kid almost trip from running back and forth along the tank behind me.
While I enjoyed the mermaid show, playing "Under the Sea" is a little cheesy. I bet that the kids would still love the show even if you didn't remind everyone that Ariel was a mermaid.
The restaurant needs to make up its mind about what type of restaurant it is. A family-friendly sit down with lower prices or a pricier upscale, adults only lounge. Before dinner we had some drinks in the Nautilus lounge and there were still underaged and small children at most of the tables. Happy hour drinks at $4 is about the only reasonably and fairly priced thing going on at the Aquarium. But beware, happy hour is only in the N. lounge. Once you're in the main restaurant it's full price drinks again.
The air of disappointment on the way home made for an akward ride. Long story short, if you don't have kids and want better food and lower prices... just go somewhere else.
Be warned: this is about a step below TGI Fridays. Food is mediocre, service is poor. Redeeming quality is the presence of the fish aquariums. Do not be fooled into thinking this will be a quality dining experience, and don’t bother if you don’t have kids.
It's a cool, touristy place with decent food. It's not a farm to table restaurant but eating next to a huge aquarium full of fish and seeing the mermaid show was great.
We made reservations on our way into the Aquarium. Having the mermaids come by during our meal was amazing. The kids meals came with a lot of good food.
It had a carnival atmosphere - a good place for kids
It was very costly. It is a museum like place. The hostess was not very pleasant. We arrived 10 minutes prior to our reservation and was told to come back later. We wandered around the gift shop and returned, she seemed bothered my rather large husband stated we would like to be seated now. The manager ended seating us. The good news the service was outstanding! Our glasses were never empty and our food came out piping hot. Loved to watch the fishies.
Mediocre food for an expensive price but the kids like watching the fish and mermaids.
This restaurant routinely does NOT properly check me in to OpenTable. This requires me to contact OpenTable and ask them to correct the restaurant’s mistake.
The wait staff was awful this time around. From the second we sat down, our waiter rushed us out the door. I have never been given a to go box and bag five minutes after receiving my meal. Refills were next to impossible to get. Something has changed at this location. It used to be amazing. Now the food is subpar and the service is next to none. Very disappointed.
