Aquarium Restaurant - Downtown Denver
The Portion of Food that I, order was quit small for the $ price..
The food was an A- but for the price should have been A or A+. The ambiance is amazing of course and the service was good. We will certainly go back, but if it wasn’t at the aquarium I’d expect it to be 30% less.
Service is always slow. Know that going in and have a good time.
Day after Thanksgiving Lunch with family as we visited Denver area.
I would like to give zero stars for service.
We had a 6:00 PM reservation for two on Thanksgiving.
The scene was mayhem.
We were actively ignored while we waited for ten minutes. Then, when we tried to let someone know we were there, so that I could sit down to wait (I am disabled) we were treated rudely. I had asked my son to stand for me by the podium, because I couldn't stand there any longer. A man walked up to him and barked at him and ordered him to move away from the podium.
It appeared they were in a real crunch to set up for dinner after taking down their buffet.
We felt bad for the waitstaff, who were doing their best to clean and set up.
After seeing what was going on, the crowd of people who arrived after us, also with 6:00 PM reservations, we lost our appetite to eat there. We were afraid that the kitchen might be just as chaotic and that our food would be undercooked.
I made the reservation there thinking it would be fun. It was not.
We left and found a table at a lovely restaurant nearby, where we had a delicious meal. It was a crazy holiday there, too, but everyone was curteous and helpful. We didn't mind waiting, because we knew they were busy. Everything was wonderful. We made the right decision to leave the Aquarium. Our waitstaff at the other restaurant got the large tip we had planned for whoever served us on Thanksgiving.
Also, the Aquarium parking lot was charging $7 to park. Cheesy.
Might be fine for lunch after visiting the Aquarium, but this is not a place to go if you want a quality experience.
They screwed us royally! I signed up a month ago for Thanksgiving dinner. Reservations were for 6p. We were so excited looking forward to it-then we were told when we got there-sorry, the buffet ended at 4p.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit, even though we weren't seated until 1/2 hour after our reservation. Considering they had 180 reservations for their Thanksgiving Buffet, we think they did well! Service was excellent, as was the food. Don't know about the 'value' - we were treated by our kids!
The staff was amazing. At first the host sat us next to a table full of uncontrolled kids. Upon request the server found us an adequate table. The servers made the experience amazing. I don’t even remember the food. I hope management knows the how above and beyond the servers go. My take away from the experience was the ambiance and staff. I cannot wait to go back if not, then I will be recommending people go.
The food was decent, all be it over priced. The real issue was the service. The hosts never smiled; even put dirty dishes back on our table after we moved it away since there was no bus service. There were open tables everywhere so why he felt the need to put ti back on our table I will never understand. The waiter was nice but not really very attentive. The soup we ordered came out cold and we had to send it back.
Of course the atmosphere is unbeatable with the giant aquarium right in the restaurant, but when you pair that with great service and delicious food.....you can't go wrong. Just had an all around excellent experience and would go again soon.
Delicious food in a unique location—their étouffée is one of the few things I’ve eaten spicy enough for me to not to have to ask for hot sauce!
There was a power loss problem so the tanks were dark while we were eating.
The restaurant was nice. The food was amazing. However, when I booked my reservation a month ago, I asked seated where the mermaids perform since it was my birthday. When I got to the restaurant, my party had to wait 20 minutes for our table and we could not get the seating that I asked for, even after being seated. I was told there was an event that booked half of the space...if this was the case, a notification should've been told to people who made reservations. There were lots of parties who reserved who had to wait. Other than that, the food was amazing and my waiter was great!
It’s really hard to say I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant because it was such a cool concept. But the service was so bad that I wouldn’t even try It again.
I took my daughter there for her birthday as a surprise to see the mermaids swim in the tank. The place smells musty and wet like moldy carpet/fish tank which isn't very appetizing when you are going to eat somewhere. Our server got us our table quickly and was prompt. But there was a lot of staff just standing around the dining room talking to each other. The food was mediocre at best. My daughter had simple pasta and the sauce was over thickened so she wouldn't eat it. My $23 salad wasn't anything special. When the mermaids finally swam in the tank their system shut down and the tank lights and music went out. Just an overall bummer.
Definitely not worth the price of the food and definitely not a fancy high dining restaurant.
Expensive but good. Soup and a lunch item. Very good service.
We were at the Aquarium with friends and family. The food was good, but a bit pricey and we had a nice, quiet spot to sit. There were some kids from the top floor, though that were dropping trash down on our table, which was super annoying, but when I spoke to them, they took care of it right away. It was a good night and we always enjoy going to the Aquarium!
We were the first to be sat at breakfast reservations at 8:30am and did not even get a server to greet us. We had to get a manager to serve us and then a man who wasnt even a server tried to help us. We didnt have a server to even get us drinks. It was our daughters birthday on which we put on our reservations and they sat us furthest from the mermaids as possible. Service was absolutely horrible and I will not be going back to the restaurant.
Things have gotten gross. The once delicious Onion Ring Platter that had a beautiful tower is now dumped on a plate with the Pickles and Jalapenos on the side. I got the straws thrown on the table because the waiter was busy waiting another table; while the two managers were sitting on the far side of the tables watching their employees as appose to be the model. We got told a couple of times how was the food, while at best was okay, but to my previous experience, the food used to look and taste delicious all the time. The restaurant was a go-to place for my daughter's birthday celebration because of the quality, but not anymore. Sad that's why I got the Landry Select card to make sure I can visit one of my favorite places, and get discounts along with my uses.
Unbelievably bad service. We went there on November 3rd. We had a reservation. The place was pretty empty, but we were told we had to sit at a booth or in front of a wall. I made reservations and drove all that way so my kids could eat and watch the fish. The staff absolutely refused to let us sit at any of the EMPTY tables near the tank. We will not be back. Jerks!
It was our first visit. What a neat place! We came to celebrate my daughters 21st Birthday. The only real complaint I have is how disappointing it was not to be able to buy my daughter her first drink. Our server refused service after seeing she had a “vertical” ID card. It was clearly a valid ID, we were literally there to celebrate her 21st Birthday.
When we got there, they did not have a table for us. They seated many people before us.
Got one of the few tables in the restaurant that had a bad view of the fish tank.
For this restaurant this reservation was not worth it.
Even though we were dining on a voucher that we purchased, we found the service timing off and rather slow. In addition some of the modifications to our entrees were missing. When we made the server (Reggie) aware he apologized but still never got us the missing items.
I took my wife as a surprise for her birthday. She loved it!!
The food was decent, but EXTREMELY overpriced. The entire reason we reserved a table was because the mermaids were supposed to have a show at noon in the dining area. Turns out the tank was having issues and it wasn't being used for any mermaid shows, which was a huge disappointment.
The Aquarium Restaurant is always a fun place to dine. Food is very good and the service is excellent. We brought our 4-year old granddaughter to see the Mermaids in the fish tank, but since there was a problem with the tank, the Mermaids couldn't go into the tank that evening. The manager found out and invited her to the Mermaid show upstairs. Everyone had a great time.
The restaurant was worth going to, I was expecting it to be kind of touristy but it was very classy and nice.
We had a great time and the service was great, very friendly servers and food was delicious. Would go back on our next trip to Denver.
First time there, place was cool but the service was incredibly slow and they kept getting our bill wrong.
Best customer serive .. Love our server she was the best so nice and polite
Service too slow , and food is salty..
I was very disappointed with how the food tastes. I ordered the grilled shrimp. My plate was over served with vegetables, a tablespoon of rice and a few shrimp. My husband ordered a salad that came after his dinner. He also ordered the fried captains plate. Fried is an understatement. Everything was extremely crunchy and over seasoned. I was hoping for a nice dinner to go with the beautiful scenery. But I was so disappointed.
The food was amazing. We sat right next to the tropical aquarium, which was a huge hit with our daughter. The staff were all very friendly.
It was good, I appreciate the menu variations with chef inspired dishes. Dessert was just as good! Nice job!
Poor experience as waited 20 minutes before we had a waiter then another 10 before we even had water/drinks. Food was good but experience ruined.
Always a wonderful time. :) Tatiana was great! Loved the atmosphere and food. We will be returning in the near future.
It was a great experience! We enjoyed it tremendously!
On a Friday evening, when the rest of the Denver restaurant scene is in overdrive, this was a quiet and serene dining experience. The food was fine, the servers were cheerful and courteous and it was so nice to be able to relax and have a quiet conversation.
My wife and I love watching the fish go by. Food was great. Over all was a good experience.
The aquarium restaurant was a fun experience before going in to check out the fish. It was cool because you have a view of the tanks from every table in the restaurant. The mermaid show was awesome so I highly recommend going at a time you can see that. The food was pretty good the only thing I was disappointed with was the instant mashed potatoes. Overall decent experience and I would eat there again if we ever go back to the aquarium.
