Andiamo! A Neighborhood Trattoria
We used to love this restaurant but had a few issues with the food Wednesday night.
The chicken piccatta was too salty; our guests' pizza was supposed to come with no lamb sausage, and while they comped the pizza for the error, the sausage tainted the rest of the pizza. The veggies asked for on the pizza were minimal.
The mushroom and fried artichoke fettucine was good but undersalted (better than oversalted!) but not stellar. I never tasted any artichokes.
The service was, however, great and we appreciated that. The wine recommendation was excellent, too. But please work on the food - perhaps tasting in the kitchen before plating.
Food and service were excellent
A little pricey and I had them add meat sauce instead of of the pesto sauce came with the meal they charge me additional six dollars for basically one scoop of sauceI eat all over the country and most restaurants do not charge like that tables were too close together but otherwise we enjoyed our meal I will go there again
So many flies inside the restaurant, it was terrible. Also, no bread was provided and service was mediocre.
We had had a bad experience at Andiamo a few months ago and didn’t know if we wanted to go back there.
But it is a favorite and we gave it another try.
It was a whole different story this night .
We were greeted at the door and given a good table right away.
We had two servers ask what we wanted to drink .
Our server told us about the specials so we could decide .
The special salad with apples ,walnuts ,blue cheese and arugula was incredible.
I love their mixed greens for its simplicity and it was great .
The server recommended the mushroom pizza for me and it was delicious.
My husband really enjoyed the pasta with shrimp and garlic.
Everything was delicious and came in a good amount of time .
However I have always loved their parfait with homemade granita.
It tasted great but I like in in the parfait glass better .
Otherwise a great Sunday night dinner at Andiamo .
Im a regular and it wasn't as good as usual. Love the crispy duck legs and they weren't crispy! No bread served. A little noisy and slow, but it was saturday night. Lamb chops were great Tiramisu very good. Waitress very night
Ashley provided dinner service and she was superb.
Early Sunday dinner with an out of town guest. Restaurant was not busy, yet we were going to be seated right next to another table, with very little elbow room. When we asked for a different table, the server was a bit flustered by the request, but sat us at another table that we pointed out to her. At a restaurant of this caliber, I don't expect to be asked to 'hold on to' our dirty silverware from the appetizer to use again for the entree. While the food and drinks were good, these service glitches were very off-putting, especially when entertaining a guest.
We had a delicious meal. Delightful salad to start! Wonderful flavors:lemony piccata, very flavorful pasta dish. If we lived in Santa Fe, we would find here frequently!!
lovely. we were in town for a conference, if we lived in the area we would quickly become regulars.
We had a group of eight. The staff was very attentive and accommodating. Everyone was delighted with their meal.
The food was very good! The beet salad was great! I had to ask for bread and they took forever to let us order drinks then it took another forever to get the bottle of wine delivered! All in all I would eat there again but they should add carbonara to their menu! Never been to a real Italian restaurant that doesn’t serve it! Two out of four of our table would have ordered it!
Always a positive lunch experience. My go-to place for lunch meetings.
It is definitely one of my favorite Santa Fe go-to places! I took 2 friends visiting from NYC and they loved it too, and commented on how great the noise (or lack of) level was so we could hear each other speak!
Early Sunday dining meant getting a good table, and vegetarian options were delicious. The chocolate custard dessert was to die for. A great meal.
Repeat customers- love the eggplant parmigiana. Thank you.
This is a charming neighborhood establishment - intimate and cozy, nice enough for a special occasion, yet not intimidating. This was my third visit and the service was slower than on previous trips, but I think the server was busy with other tables. The food has always been excellent. I love the polenta appetizer! There is a nice list of reasonably priced wines to accompany the meal.
Unfortunately, the acoustics for Andiamo have never been taken into account. The restaurant is so noisy that you cannot have a conversation among four diners at a table. Acoustic tiles, upholstery and other sound dampening measures are essential. The beet and burrata salad was very good and a penne dish was pleasing but the chicken parm and the duck leg were not up to par. Service was erratic with water glasses going empty for long stretches and no one pouring our wine. Too bad.
Overall we had a very good experience & food was excellent
As someone who frequents this restaurant, it was consistent in that the food was good. Service was a little sketchy as the restaurant was busy, but there seemed to be a shortage of wait staff.
The waitress was very friendly and the food was exceptionally good. We enjoyed the pasta dishes, but did not expect an additional fee for changing the pasta on a specific drink. Otherwise very good.
Absolutely delicious! Our family of four (2 adults, 2 kids ages 12&15) had such a memorably delicious meal while on vacation in Santa Fe that we had to come back the next night! The second night was as delish as the first! This is the best Italian restaurant in Santa Fe and certainly at the top of the best of any category restaurants. Thank you to the kind and amazing staff both front and back - we will be back soon!
Lovely setting with delicious food, warm & attentive staff!
Very small selection, overpriced. Calamari was mediocre, red sauce very thin lacking flavor. Good bread from Sage baking co. (For 3.50). Waitress lovely. No sufficient AC - very hot.
Delicious food... beautiful presentation ! Delightful waitress who catered to our every needs. I truly enjoy eating here as often as possible.
We loved our dinner last night here! The spaghetti bolognese was one of the best ever! Loved the beets and buratta salad too. Absolutely delicious. We had wonderful service by Ashley and highly recommend this restaurant. Great atmosphere too.
We are frequent customers. Always like Andiamo! One very minor complaint is that now one has to pay for a few slices of bread and olive oil before the meal. We were told that the change is due to waste of uneaten bread. That's OK. But I would prefer to ask for bread so that we don't waste any rather than a few nickels and dimes for dinner.
Spouses dish was chicken piccata and it was overcooked and tough, sent back and waitress brought it back to the table and said the cook told her it had to be that way because it was chicken. Waited another 15-20 minutes for a different dish to be prepared for my wife, meanwhile the rest of party had eaten.
Emailed owner who apologized and told me that meal had been taken off of ticket, true, but they charged us for her new dish, so no discount. Owner sent us a $15.00 gift card for next visit. Has been a favorite of ours for over seven years with many anniversaries, birthdays , and opera outings, but recent changes and response take it off our favorites list. Too bad!
Juan and the other staff were courteous and professional. The food was perfect. We look forward to a return visit.
Had a great time. Good food. Great bread. Overall wonderful meal
Best Italian food ever! I wish they didn't charge for bread and it's not that great unfortunately. The entrees are very pricey but worth every penny.
I wish we lived close by.
Our friend is a vegetarian and she was so pleased that there were a few options for her. We went twice in 4 days!
Not a place I would return to again. Servers kept giving us the wrong dishes, waitress ordered me the wrong food, you have to pay $3.50 for 3 slices of bread. No one even spoke to us the first 10 mins we were there. And they don't really know how to make Italian food. Don't waste your money here. Eat somewhere else!
Lovely dinner; excellent table; food delicious including classic dishes and specials. Very Flexible with change in reservation to earlier arrival. Look forward to returning.
Food was good, service slow. Would try again.
Thankfully I inquired about our server upon which the hostess politely apologized for the wait and took out from order before our server who was a little behind as she explained and took our entree orders as she continued service to several other tables .. the salad and duck leg with polenta was the perfect portion size .. all and all a very splendid evening with gracious service and superb cuisine .. thanks Santa Fe NM..
Had a wonderful meal. Service was great.
This has always been a favorite for dinner, but I recently learned that they were open for lunch. My group felt that it was the perfect place for us to reconnect.
We have been going to this restaurant for over 25 years...this was the worst service we have ever experienced
The food was delicious... the wait staff exceptional.
I made reservations for 7 pm, and we were seated as soon as we got there. The place was packed, and we were put in a table that was extremely crowded in. It was at the end of the long banco and one seat was placed so that it stuck out into the traffic lane. I moved onto the banco next to my husband, which was ok, although pretty tight. The noise level was high, but the reason I gave less than stellar ratings was for the service and the packed-in feeling of the space. Everyone was so brusque and preoccupied, and in some cases unfriendly. The nicest, friendliest person there was our busboy, who was a delight. It is a shame because the food is/was excellent. But we are learning not to come to this restaurant if it is at all busy because they pack way too many people into the space available. We had stopped coming to dinner here during the summer and may do so again until the season passes. We have stopped coming to any special "party" or event dinners (such as New Year's Eve) for this very reason as well. I might add that I have been coming to this restaurant for nearly 20 years.
