   Hands down the single best restaurant staff in Denver. Food is always perfect and atmosphere always great.

   If you’re looking for an upscale high quality steak house in Denver 801 Chop Hose is NOT for you. From the cold as ice reception we received to the noisy booth by the kitchen, a server who was MIA, $139 Porter house steak that was 1/2 fat and inedible this venue is as bad as it gets.

   The food here is phenomenal, from the Caesar salad to the ribeye steak and lamb chops to the scalloped potatoes. The only thing that was less than stellar was the pistachio ice cream, which didn't have much pistachio flavor. Service was a bit slow at times.

   While the drinks were on point and our server was very attentive and lovely, I was ultimately disappointed with the food here. Maybe it was an off night, but I left with the impression that this was kind of like the Olive Garden of high end steakhouses. There are even other chains I would go to before I'd go to this one again (STK or Ocean Prime, for instance.) The lobster bisque was overly salty, the broccoli was bland, the steak was well done on the edges and basically raw in the center because it was such a wildly thick piece there was no way to cook it with consistency. Kind of disappointing, but at least now I know!
