801 Chophouse - Denver

We celebrated a birthday...the food was wonderful and unique.
The service was good despite it being a very busy fathers day.
Service was very very slow compared to other times we have dined
We tried 801 chophouse for the first time on Father’s Day. The service was terrible. We were there for 3 hours due to the fact that our waiter rarely came to the table. It took a significant time to get all 3 courses, and even more time to receive drinks we ordered. If I spend $800 on dinner, I expect impeccable service. My husband and father in law were impressed with their steaks, but I will not pay $800 again for terrible service. We won’t be back.
This was a return visit. 801 Chophouse has become a regular dinning place for my wife and myself. We go there every couple of months or so when we want to eat the very best steak money can buy. I think the fact that my wife and I keep returning to dine there is about the highest recommendation one can give.
Terrific food and excellent service! A great place to come for special occasions or a romantic night out! We love the steak dinner and seafood platters!
801 is always a great meal! Good selection and great service. Thank you
John, our waiter, makes the experience that much better. He is attentive and helps us out with wine selections, which is an extensive list! The steak tartare is one of our favorite starters. All the steaks are amazing, but we prefer the filet and strip and you have to order it with the cognac butter- mushroom ragout sauce. It's out of this world!
They did an amazing job with the little touches . Had happy anniversary confetti on the table and on our menu. Gave us a dessert and wrote happy anniversary on it as well. Our server was amazing and she took the time to explain everything on the menu and gave her advice what to order. Overall best service I have received in a long time.
This was the first time my friends and I have visited 801 Chophouse. We mostly ordered fish which was the best any of us had tasted. We ended up sharing the crème brulee for dessert, which was more than enough for 3 people. Next time, I have to try the soufflé--something you don't see in a mile high city. Overall, a great evening.
Best steak restaurant in Denver!
801 has become our favorite steakhouse in Denver! Great for special occasions, or just a martini and appetizer on the way home from work.
Made a reservation for anniversary dinner, table was decorated and we received a free dessert. Food was amazing, scallops wrapped with bacon for appetizer, wedge salad and chopped house salad, shared a 24 oz steak and still had some to take home. One of our favorite places for happy hour and special occasions.
Second time here and once again, it was fantastic!!!! Would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys a great steak.
We came in for our anniversary and were greeted with smiles at the door and a lovely table decorated with confetti, saying Happy Anniversary. As well as personalized menus and one that was signed for us to take home.
Mimi was our server and she was excellent. Very personable and timed everything perfectly. Victoria was bartending and was wonderful as always. All the staff that touched our table was friendly and funny and welcoming.
The ribeye, escargot, lamb chops and soufflé were all to die for. Having the chef, Ben, personally serve the soufflé with the beautifully decorated plate just added to the night.
I will always recommend this place!
The dinner was wonderful and the waiter was very helpful and very knowledgeable about each dish we inquired about.
The Sunday Supper menu is great. Overall the restaurant has good food, but over salted. I just don't feel the quality justifies the cost unless you are there for their Sunday Suppoer
The service was excellent as you would expect from a fine steakhouse. I had the prime rib 801 cut. It was a good cut of meat but it tasted as if the meat was boiled, very mushy and no taste except salt. I also had the calamari the breading was good but not seasoned enough had to add salt to that. The service and attention to detail was excellent but as stated I was disappointed with the meat.
The best steakhouse in Denver, hands down. Not only is the food phenomenal, the service is amazing, as well.
Greeted with valet parking, and each step of the way we were wished a happy anniversary. Our table had a bit of pretty confetti with specially marked menus (anniversary) which was a sweet touch. Our server was friendly and lively and gave us a tour of the menu and was more than happy to make small adjustments for us (i.e shrimp app came with 3 but he asked us if we’d like 4 to evenly split!). Food was spectacular! Some of the best we have ever had. Super big portions so we definitely had leftovers they packaged up nice for us. Finished off the meal with a dessert of our choice, on the house! (Again, anniversary reservations). Only complaint was there was a big wine tasting pretty close to us and it was a chatty group so we had to almost yell across the small table to talk throughout the night. Would’ve been nice if they had a separate room for events like that, or had them not during dinner service. That being said it was a wonderful night, well worthy the hefty price tag. Look forward to visiting again.
Everything was great upon the exception that they ran out of porterhouse steaks. That’s the only cut of steak that my husband eats, therefore I had to eat dinner alone at the table.
Lovely, old fashioned steak house with great steaks and sides. Staff was awesome and the atmosphere is lively. 1/2 portions are plenty for two people-FYI
Best steakhouse in Denver! Very old school. Brooks is the number one waiter! Thanks for the fabulous experience!
We had a great meal at 801 Chophouse. Our server, John, was fantastic. Very helpful and answered all of our questions. He explained that most of the appetizers and all of the sides are proportioned for three to four people and was able to explain their menu offerings in great detail. Because of this all three of us were very happy with our menu selections. My scallop and pork tenderloin was amazingly good. My friend's orders of the petite filet and the halibut were both excellent as well. The sauteed spinach was very good and the scalloped potatoes were so good and creamy with the perfect amount of cheese. We were just too full to even consider desert, so maybe next time, since we will return.
The dinner was great... Jon is an excellent server. The prime rib is the best I have ever had... so tender you can cut it with your fork.
Great lamb chops, wedge salad was perfect, you definitely get what you pay for, quality food and service.
Everything was very good, waiter was excellent, but I've had better prime rib elsewhere and I think it was overpriced
Everything was excellent!
Great place, great food. Dominic is a world-class server.
Be prepared for expensive meal as most things are ala carte. Great food though.
This is based on their weekly Sunday special, otherwise the value would be one lower. Based on this experience we will certainly return though again, probably just Sundays. Other days there are far too many other steak houses in town - with free parking - to return. My entree, prime rib, was very good though with about 20% fat. My dining companion had to send her steak back not once but twice (that's a first). Our terrific server had described what her ordered temperature would be and it was exactly what she wanted. Unfortunately the kitchen did differently. Twice. for the price-point, one should expect better. But again, on Sunday's, it's a good bargain. Even if I have to waste 20% (trim it better) of my meal.
We love this place! The food and the service is always consistently excellent!
Everything was amazing. Ask for Mimi in the bar, it was the best service we have ever had.
I had the ribeye, my husband had the prime rib. Mimi suggest half sizes for the sides and it was the perfect amount of food.
A classic dining experience. We were at the hospital all day so when we arrived at 801 Chop House we were ready to relax and be pampered. That is exactly what happened from the greeting until our departure. We were in the able hands of our waiter Dominic. From our cocktails, the enormous shrimp cocktail and warm sourdough we were off to a great start. Classic iceberg wedge and Caesar salads were delicious followed by perfectly cooked lamb Chops and filet mignon. Wine was matched to our entrees by Dominic. Dessert was a classic chocolate soufflé. A fabulous dining experience. Thank you!!
Food was amazing. Service was personable and very attentive.
The service and food are always top notch along with an totally awesome environment!! They even took extra steps to decorate the table for my birthday!! Thanks 801Chop!!
Usually a very dependable experience but unfortunately this Mothers Day Sunday evening the kitchen was out of sorts and very disjointed. Our dinner took three hours and not because the service wasn’t attentive. I will give them a flyer because many previous meals were spot on. I just assume they were understaffed in the kitchen and didn’t have good chemistry going with the front of the house
Every time I eat here is is a wonderful new experience. The Chefs are very talented and creative.
What a delight! Our first time at 801 and we loved it. Great food, excellent service and all around fun time! One recommendation- we love our steaks rare and while the meat was great quality, the sear needed to be better to bring out the flavors. We loved everything else and this will definitely go on our Cherry Creek favorites list!
Great Food and Great Service. The server Kristin was attentive and knowledgeable. The food was delicious, we especially loved the Tiramisu.
