1515 Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Service and ambience were great. The food unfortunately was mediocre. We started with the Warm Caesar and Goat Cheese/Beet salad. The Caesar had wilted lettuce and the Goat Cheese salad was overwhelmed with the goat cheese. We both ordered the Cioppino and the in it mussels were fishy/bad, the fish was dry and the tomato broth was lacking in flavor. For what we paid I expected a lot more.
After paying the bill we have our feedback to both our server who then had the manager come by. They were receptive and offered a free dessert to make up for it. Unfortunately we had to leave to make our show.
We have been in this restaurant 4 times and the three first times were amazing experiences ! food, service, wine, everything was outstanding.
This time, the only word I get is AWFUL.
to be fare, our server was amazing !!!! one a best I have ever seen.
But the food..... not even remotely close from what we had in the past.
For 90$ per person we expected something amazing but we didn't get anything like that.
under cooked rice, under seasoned fish, cold gnocchi, to much vinegar, poor presentation... my wife was obviously starving after we left.
I would say that 1515 restaurant is good not great. The menu is interesting and the ambiance and the service are very good. However, the food showed a number of flaws. For example, the ceviche came beautifully presented with a tasty mango salsa but some of the fish was dry and tough. Similarly, the arugula infused pasta with shrimp was lovely in appearance and the taste was good but the sauce caused the pasta to stick together. The duck breast was excellent but the vegetables accompanying it were cold. It is the lack of attention to the details that keep this restaurant from being excellent.
The waiter was excellent. Very attentive and knowledgeable.
It was our anniversary and a card was at our table and they provided champagne. The food was well prepared, tasty and offered some unique options for the Denver area.
Because of the age of the building, it is not handicap accessible (no elevators).
Awesome corn bisque and wine selection, other than that not impressed. Poor ambiance- dark and cold. Beet salad was sub par and vegetarian risotto was not good. Tasted like salt and cheese. Never going back. Disappointed with our evening as it was an anniversary celebration.
We have dined here several times in the past and had always been extremely satisfied. This visit however was not good, bartender could not find bloody mary mix then said they didn't have canadian club until I showed her. Then our entrée came before my appetizers and when it came the mussels where over cooked and half did not have anything in them. We where very disappointed. We sat at the bar to make it easy that did not work.
The service was very odd. When we got to the restaurant we had to look around for the hostess. When we found her she seemed kind of frazzled and not very welcoming. She checked her computer, and while we were talking with her she started talking to another guest who was looking to join another party. She then started walking up to the dining room without communicating what she was doing (and we and that other guest just started following her). When we got up the stairs she stopped and checked a second computer.
The waiter was better, but again, it didn't feel like friendly, good communication.
The food was OK, not great. I wouldn't go there again.
1515 is our favorite fine dining restaurant and our last visit was as good as ever. The quality of ingredients and skillful combining of flavors, all cooked to perfection makes for a wonderful dining experience. Yes, you'll pay a bit more but well worth a few more bucks to have a thoroughly delightful meal. Also quiet, comfortable, and great service...so a great couples place.
We had dinner at 1515 to celebrate a friend's birthday. The service was over the top excellent! The accommodated all of our needs and really spent time and attention on our table. I also appreciated that the chef was willing to accommodate dietary preferences. Definitely recommend this restaurant for a special occasion.
We have been to this restaurant a couple of times and always enjoyed. There have been some challenges one New Year's Eve with getting food out. But even then the creations were spectacular. We very much enjoyed our food. The garlic soup was to die for......it all was a dream and we understand the owner is back to being Exec Chef....great place. And, not to be missed.
One of the most sophisticated restraints in Denver. The owner has meticulously trained his waiters in the their knowledge of their (extensive) wine menu and their understanding of the menu. I appreciate the elegant dining experience without feeling an ounce of pretension. My husband and I have dined there for special occasions a few times per year for the past five years and have yet to be disappointed. Of note: they have re-designed the bar area on the first floor and is a great place to gather for drinks.
