Hands down the best meal I’ve had in Denver. Phenomenal food, outstanding service and a memorable night. Skip the generic steakhouses and eat at Palace Arms!
The whole experience was wonderful. The food was amazing - everything we had - might be the best caesar salad I've ever had. And the beef Wellington was delicious. The service was top notch as well and the ambiance is so fun.
Duck was tough, not cooked properly.
Excellent service. Excellent food. So pleasant to be able to converse with my wife in a restaurant without competing with loud music and background conversation.
Crazy fun NYE six course meal. Service was excellent and food with wine pairing well worth the price for the evening. I highly recommend for special occasions!
Overall, the food was good, but the ribeye steak on the menu was not good. We thought it curious that the waiter did not ask how we would like it prepared. Also, it was a very thin cut, which I thought unusual for the Palace Arms and for a ribeye steak. I expect top notch quality beef from the Palace Arms. Also, the deserts were not very good. I expect deserts at the Palace Arms to also be top notch.
Excellent meal! We went for NYE and had their pre fixe meal which was great. Between the two of us we tried all the options. The only thing that wasn't "perfect"( I say perfect because everything was cooked to perfection and tasted amazing) were the scallops. The scallops themselves were cooked perfectly but the sauce was weird. It resembled and tasted more like a gravy which didn't seem right with scallops. Definitely will go back to try their regular menu!
Perfection! Our New Year’s Eve dinner was five courses of deliciousness paired with delicious wines. When we needed a break, food service was suspended. If I had a criticism it would be that the wine pours and portions were 1/3 too large for my appetite.
Please don’t ever change!
We went to dinner on NY Eve. Food was amazing! Harrison, our waiter was amazing and the entire waitstaff was truly amazing! Harrison remembered our favorite wine and they made special accommodations by able to add my favorite appetizer, foie gras to my tasting menu. We even got to choose 3 desserts for each person and all the desserts were so cute and delicious. Definitely coming back!
When half of your party has to wear a coat to stay warm when they eat dinner something's wrong. Room was cold when we first sat down and remained that way all evening even after numerous request for more warmth. It's sad when you look forward to an enjoyable first experience at The Palace Arms and only come away with regrets. Will not recommend the Brown Palace to friends or out of town guest in the future.
The food and service was excellent. The appetizers were delicious and the table-side ceasar salad a treat, very good and a fun twist to a menu standard. The entre's were really superb and the sides complimented them very well. The sommaliere was a joy to talk with, very friendly and knowledgable, not stuffy. The wine list was very good and the wine we selected was a good value. Finally, the atmostphere was elegant and eclectic, that allowed table conversation without having to shout or cause a raw voice by the end of the evening.
This place was amazing. The quiet atmosphere was perfect for a date.
We were celebrating a landmark birthday and, while several verbal acknowledgements were made, no complimentary gestures were bestowed, which might have been expected at a restaurant of this caliber.
Thanksgiving-set menu. Beautiful hotel
Although this was quite expensive for the quantity of food, the quality was superb. That being said, my favorite part of the meal was the "petite Thanksgiving plate" which had small portions of all the key Thanksgiving ingredients. I APPRECIATED THAT, but it was pretty pricey.
The ambience, service and delicious food were perfect.
Nice and quiet place to spend an anniversary or date night. My wife loved the scallops, the duck was ok. We enjoyed ourselves. Ready to go back and have another great time.
Food was horrible. Asked for a pasta. Was given rice with cheese. 80$. Service was not good whatsoever
The atmosphere is sophisticated, the food tasted great, and the service was superb. It was the perfect place to celebrate our wedding anniversary.
Have been there several years ago. Food was good but portions small. In my opinion it is not worth the money but the Brown Palace itself came across to me this time as not worth the money.
We decided to stay in instead of going out and it was a great decision. The food was fabulous.
Great food. The best Wellington I ever tasted. Nice ambience. Great service, We will return always at Denver and this great restaurant
Nothing like the Brown Palace! Lovely steaks, table prepared Caesar salads and Baked Alaska. Service perfect! Beautiful!
Over rated, food and service poor, price high! Unfavorable and would avoid. Another previous good place, now bad after Marriott purchased, owns and operates this hotel and its restaurants.
Awesome service and the food was delicious. I loved the table side Caesar salad and baked Alaska. Definitely a special place for a specialty dinner.
A SHADE OF ITS OLD SELF. I FELT THAT MY MAIN COURSE HAD BEEN SITTING AT LEAST 3 DAYS BEFORE WE ARRIVED AND IT WAS WARMED UP. IT WAS OLD AND TIRED.
Thank you for your patronage and also for taking the time to share your comments with us. I was disappointed to see that we were unable to exceed your expectations. While we prepare each dish fresh and to order, it is evident we missed the mark on this occasion. I would be grateful if you would reach out to me directly, as it would assist us in identifying the specific opportunities. Regards, Dave Larson Director of Food & Beverage 303.312.8948
A real gem in downtown Denver. History is in the very walls. Dress up, or you will feel odd surrounded by all of the Napoleonic wars memorabilia in the high ceilinged dining room. The service is first class and the food very good. Nice wine selections. The jazz band in the atrium was a bit loud coming through the door, but not enough to affect conversation.
We enjoyed celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary with dinner at the Palace Arms. Thanks for the lovely evening.
The relevance of this past "treasure" is missed on today's diner. The food was mediocre in its preparation and presentation. It is far too expensive, even for special occasions, to settle for mediocre. It is time for the memorobilia of this restaurant to be placed in a museum and for The Brown Palace to present a new fine dining venue in its place. The service was very good as always.
Such a disappointment. We expected an experience as elegant as The Brown Palace. The lobby is lovely and the restaurant follows suit : white table clothes, attentive staff, quiet atmosphere. The menu is limited and pricey - but acceptable. But the food was awful! Totally unimaginative, poorly prepared , tasteless and overdone. The pretensions - an amuse bouche that was laughable and a single rose for each lady presented at meal’s end - were silly after the really terrible meals served. Cannot recommend and am sad about that.
Most of the meals were either overcooked or relative small in size. Not great values for the price, and the cook needs to watch the foods more closely so that overcooking does not occur. The ambience was wonderful, since we had a private room. However, the band in the outside courtyard much too loud, and it would have been much too noisy if we had been in the middle of the restaurant. The service was excellent. So, overall, a very nice experience particularly because we had a private room.
Our waitresses was fantastic! She was thoughtful and even gave me a rose at the end of the meal. The food was over salted, the lobster bisque was a large chunk of lobster with a thick, salty bisque poured on top. The bottle of wine we purchased was warm and the creme brûlée’ we had for dessert had a shortcake base which we’d never seen before and my husband who has celiac couldn’t eat it (this is usually a “go-to” dessert for those with celiac” Again, our server was lovely, yet the food was a total disappointment.
Very nice atmosphere and ambiance and the customer service was excellent. Food was good and we had a great time at the Palace Arms.
Food was great. The Foie Gras was perfectly seared. Wonderful wine list. Our wait staff was not particularly engaging or helpful. Rather than seating us and handing us our menus, the hostess just dropped the menus onto our bread plate and walked away. The lobby of the hotel had a beautiful jazz ensemble preforming, but within the confines of the restaurant the sound of the band was drowned out by lazy elevator music being played over the speakers.
Everything we ordered they were out of including the wine. What we settled for was not that good and definitely not worth the price.
This is not the old palace arms. The wait staff, the food and the overall quality of professionalism is gone.
We can no longer recommend the Brown Palace, unfortunately.
The food was disappointing. It tasted like it was frozen and then heated. Very bland
My wife and I had such a lovely dinner at the Palace Arms Thank You very much
Last minute on a Saturday we were able to get a reservation at the time we wanted. It was convenient and the service was excellent. The food was very good and everyone went away satisfied. I will say that the ambiance wasn't our style but interesting and totally in keeping with the historic hotel
