Food was not good - we paid $75 for a 5oz steak and it came out cold. When I asked for it to be heated up the waiter said "you wanted it medium rare which we did" and didn't seem to understand that wanting a medium rare steak had nothing to do with temperature. Food presentation was extremely poor, not worth the $300 they charged us. Could've gotten the same level of food at an Applebees.

We were the only 2 people in the entire dining room at 7:30pm and nobody came in during our entire stay. There was 1 waiter. They used to make ceasar salad at the table. No more. They used to have prime rib. No more but waiter volunteered to go to another restaurant in the hotel and fetch a piece. He did. It was tough and it was cold. PATHETIC. DON'T BOTHER GOING. WE ARE OLD CLIENTS (20ish years) who haven't been back in 5 years. NEVER AGAIN

All menu items we tried were absolutely outstanding! Gail, the Som, was very knowledgeable and friendly with sharing the history of the old Germany wines and cork extractors.

Thank you Louise! We think our beef is amazing as well. Did you know that it is from a ranch located in Colorado? Fitch Ranch provides all of our beef and it is just divine!

We had hoped for a very enjoyable and memorable experience.
Instead, we were treated with disrespect by the front desk staff, who informed us we had reservations for brunch the next day which was false. They then charged us twice on 12-31-21 and 1-1-22. I am still unable to get in touch with your accounting department to rectify the overcharge.
Next, we had reservations at the restaurant and when seated were told the $150 per person menu was gluten free which is what I needed to have. However, after further review found the dessert of red velvet cake not to be gluten free, thus nullifying my dessert.
It was fortunate that Kylie your new manager was able to contact the chef, who was able to "pull" together a very small assortment of gluten free desserts.
Lastly, on 1-1-2022, we went into to our reservation for brunch only to be told there wasn't a reservation. I became upset and headed to the front desk only to be told to "talk to the concierge" we don't handle that. As we spoke to the concierge, the chef, who had seen me leave the brunch angrily, asked us what had happened. After communicating the again misinformation, she invited us back in and stated she would take care of everything. The brunch was a disappointment as there were very few gluten free items.
Overall, the Brown Palace was an extreme disappointment. The front desk women who worked on 12-31 and 1-1 should be reprimanded, retrained or removed as they lack any customer service ability. They should have told us what the package we purchased contained or didn't contain, what we needed, and followed up with us, yet did nothing.
The best people you have are Kylie, your chef, and the concierge and her staff.
Once we receive our refund, we won't be recommending nor dealing with the Brown Palace. You are not a 5 star facility.
Thank you Peter

Tenderloin had to be sent back twice before correct. Crust on the cherry tart was rock hard and cherry sauce was minimal. Broccolini very overdone and side of potatoes too salty. Thirty minutes between courses. Seated next to side board which was dusty and had a paper coffee cup abandoned on it. Wait staff need to be properly trained. Will never go back

Sadly, our experience for my mothers 75th birthday was not that of a 5 star restaurant, and especially the Brown Palace.
For an almost a $700 meal, I excepted the quality of the food and more importantly, the service to be top notch. The first encounter with the hostess was just the beginning. So rude and disrespectful.
There are to many issues to list but the icing on the cake (pun intended) was when, after reminding our waiter and also stating in my Opentable reservation, that it was my Mom’s 75th birthday, the waiter brought out our paid desserts and said “oh, sorry, forgot the candle” and didn’t come back of take the cake away to put a candle on it. When he did come back, he stated it again and I then mentioned he should try again with a candle. He took the cake with bites out of it, went and put a candle on it and brought it back to our table.
That is not what you do in a 5 star establishment. So tacky. There are many more to list.
Safe to say I will not be eating at the Brown Palace again and that is sad. At least I know the staff at Capitol grill act like a 5 star restaurant and the food is amazing!

Christmas gathering with friends. The ambience was lovely. However, the only thing 5 star thing about the meal was the pricing. The food and the service were more toward a two star.

As an example, the mushrooms in the mushroom soup were hard. The duck was soggy, not crispy as expected in nice restaurants. The Sea Bass was bland and not special at all. Very disappointing meal. The service was not near up to standards of fine dining. Part of our party was served before we ordered our main course.

We certainly will not go back or recommend.

Dinner was very nice, service by employees was absolutely amazing, very friendly, attentive and polite. The time to bring food and wine, drinks and dessert was very prompt and the presentation was very well set. Our mains, sides and dessert were good portions. Will definitely go back again for a business dinner party.

The dining experience at the Palace Arms in the Brown Palace Hotel was one of the top 5 dining experiences I have ever had! Both of our meals were spectacular and the table side cesaer salad was perfecto! It's been a long time since I've had table side cesaer salad and my daughter LOVED it. The service was impecable, there when you needed them, but never hovering. Didn't have to ask for anything, all needs were taken care of. We spent 3 hours enjoying the fine dining experience in a world class hotel. This made our stay at the Brown Palace even more special.

Didn’t realize beef was charged by the ounce. To pay $122.00 for an 8 ounce steak is outlandish. Will never order beef again.

Made reservations 2 weeks in advance for my husband's birthday. We have never been before and heard great things about it.... Over Rated...
Bread and salad was great but $400 for 2 people is robbery!!! Not worth it.
Plus they forgot to bring a cupcake they promised and piano playing birthday song...
Overall, for the price they could probably consider replacing carpet that is horrible condition.
I never complain about this sort of thing our expectations were too high.
Disappointed.....

Beautiful environment but the service and food do not add up to the high price. My steak was rare when asked for well done, no drink refills offered, etc. A $300 steak dinner for two should have impeccable service and food.

Service was great, the mushroom bisque soup was delicious, the chef’s choice vegan meal was wonderful. Portions were generous, we didn’t have room for dessert. Some excellent chocolate truffles came to us with the check, and that topped off the meal perfectly.

We were extremely disappointed in the service we received. Had to ask twice for more bread at the beginning of our meal. One person on our group ordered duck and it was so tough he couldn’t cut it with a steak knife. We had to ask a another waiter to send ours over to the table to ask for another entree. When it came time for dessert there were two that ordered ice cream and waited over 10 minutes and never received. Other issues but too much details to go into. Will never go back there to eat!

We arrived at our reservation - then went to a show - after the show i received an email from Open Table telling me that I was reported to have missed my reservation and would be charged $25.00. I responded with my receipt showing that I did not miss the reservation. There were ONLY 3 tables with people in the restaurant -- i was a group of 2, another couple that was a group of 2, and one table of 4 people -- this was NOT an busy night and this is an INCREDIBLY expensive restaurant - and then to be charged $25 for not showing up when we did show up was really annoying. Prior to leaving (not knowing i was being reported for missing my reservation) I asked at the restaurant when I would get my $25 for the reservation on Open Table back, the hostess told me that it would be kept in the "vault" so that I didn't have to pay it in the future and if I wanted it back instead of the "vault", I had to call reservations during the daytime - so she clearly knew I was there and had used Open Table for my reservation. To have to call the following week to get a deposit back is also ridiculous - so I wouldn't go here again.

We had been concerned that due to the pains of the pandemic The Palace Arms might not be what it once was - not so. The food, ambiance and service were all fantastic. This was a special occasion (my mom's 74th birthday). It was a surprise dinner and she was absolutely delighted from start to finish. The drinks were also superb. Thank you to everyone at the Palace Arms. Fantastic

I really wanted to like this place! I read a great article about the new female (first time) chef, and the 48 hour sous vid brisket. Given this and the historic-ness of the Palace, I thought it would be the perfect place for my wife's birthday dinner. We started with the Caviar eggs with bacon jam...can't go wrong with that...and the mushroom tart with pea soup. The tart shell and the mushrooms were super tough, and the pea soup had a weird funkiness to it, maybe like it was made several days before. For the main course, I chose the brisket, and my wife had the Chilean Sea Bass. The Bass was a beautiful piece, served over a king crab cake, which for her, was protein overload, especially since there were no greens or veggies to be found on the plate. According to her, the flavor was good, but such a large portion, so only about half was consumed. I, of course, had the brisket with peach BBQ, which came with collard greens, grits (I have southern roots), fava bean puree (weird choice) and cornbread. The brisket was smothered in sauce, was incredibly tough and tasted like it had been warmed over several times. All three pieces looked like end pieces the kitchen was trying to get rid of. Given where we were dining, I was also extremely let down by the presentation: the grits, collards and bean puree were mixed together into an unattractive, tan baby food consistency with green fleck mess. The cornbread was delicious, but scattered into crumbs on the side. Reminds me a lot of a dish I had at another Denver restaurant that was a big fail. I expected a bed of grits, topped with the greens, and some nice brisket pieces on top. What I got was something you would get from a diner or cafeteria. Needless to say, we were disappointed and didn't stay for dessert. Our server (who was kind enough to comp the brisket, even tho I didn't request it) and the hostess were super nice, the Prosecco was good, and those were the bright spots, sadly, of the entire $150 meal.

There were four of us. Two of us had great meals, but the other two, the meat entree' was overcooked. Disappointing at that price point. And to their credit, the manager took the approprate service recovery actions. Salads and sides were fantastic! Because it's a higher priced establishment and because it happened on 2/4 of our entrees I probably would be reluctant to recommend. If it was less expensive one could perhaps take the risk.
