South Hills (Pittsburgh) Restaurants

After not being able to get a reservation for a big party at one popular restaurant, I called Houlihans. Karen, the catering manager, was amazing. She worked with me to reserve space for our party of 20 on a busy Saturday evening. Our table was ready when we arrived and the service could not have been better. The food was amazing, as always, and a great time was had by all.

King salmon with farro and Swiss chard was wonderful. Server recommended this and getting the bacon vinaigrette on the side since I was hesitant about it. The king salmon portion was substantial. Great recommendation.

My parents have never been to Firebirds and I suggested we go. They both loved the food and the service. My server was Mary and she is beyond exceptional. She recommended one of the seasonal cocktails, Zesty Squeeze, and I loved it! Will definitely visit again with Mom and Dad and request Mary.

My husband and I had a lovely evening dining at this restaurant. He had the tuna entree and I had the sea bass. Both were outstanding. We shared an appetizer of pot stickers and a piece of chocolate cake for dessert. Again, they were delicious. We tried a few cocktails that were new to us and enjoyed them. Try the Nineteenie - delightful. Service was friendly and efficient without being fussy. Our waitress answered our questions, gave recommendations, and knew her menu. I have two minor complaints. The first being that the dining area was cold, I noticed several people wearing jackets. The second is that the tables are very small and tight. Our waitress adeptly kept our dishes cleared which greatly helped. The dining area is small. You can easily hear every word of your neighbors conversation which is somewhat awkward. There isn't really any room for a woman to place her purse or coat. Neither of these factors would keep us from returning. We had a very pleasurable time and hope to be back soon.

I have been to BJs several times,always very good, reasonable prices,our waitress was great friendly attentive. The prices have increased beyond reason, and the quality of food not good...it will definitely be awhile before going back..
