We are bringing our version of the Kreuzberg Doner experience to Detroit and creating a place where you can begin and end your evening. Our cocktail menu pulls from the vibrant colors, spices and punchy flavors of the district. Our light and dark beer selection are a reference to the “branded” corner bars scattered throughout the neighborhood. Our food is diverse, direct and craveable.
Takoi
Price: Expensive•Thai•4.8(146)Located in the Corktown neighborhood of Detroit, TAKOI is known for modern Thai cooking accented with Michigan seasonality, a DIY mentality, and a penchant for local food production. As a core pillar of our mission, TAKOI operates HiO Farm which is located just a mile north of the restaurant. During the height of farm season, the restaurant highlights dishes prepared with HiO produce utilizing the techniques and flavors inspired by Thailand and beyond.
TAKOI, originally KATOI, began as a food truck in 2014, evolved into an Ann Arbor pop-up, and landed as a proper restaurant at 2520 Michigan Avenue in March of 2016. After being open for 11 months, having a slew of fun, and garnering a handful of awards — including a James Beard 'Best New Restaurant' nomination— KATOI was brought back down to earth when it was subjected to arson in February 2017. The day after the fire, the rebuild began, and we opened as TAKOI exactly six months later in August 2017.El Barzon

Discover Detroit
This metropolis in Eastern Michigan was founded in 1701, and its diverse residents continue to define its dynamic food scene. Although it might not be fancy or originally from Detroit, the Coney Island-style hot dog delivers the hearty working class food that keeps many people in Detroit rolling. Other choices could overwhelm you as you encounter cuisines inspired by the Middle Eastern, Polish, and Greek communities that helped build the city. Detroit is the premiere source in the Midwest for Middle Eastern staples like hummus-stuffed pitas. Downtown you can get a basic breakfast anytime or fancy crepes in old Corktown. The Polish origins of Hamtramck make smoked kielbasa and sauerkraut local favorites, and Greektown serves up authentic Balkan lamb dishes and sweet baklava.
