Why they're an Icon

From the OpenTable editors: Regulars keep swinging back to Selden Standard for small plates and craft cocktails in a cool industrial space that USA Today named one of the best restaurants of 2024. Local and seasonal produce shows up in dishes like charred octopus from the woodfired oven and seasonal fresh pastas like sweet corn agnolotti. Catch the show at the chef’s counter or hang in the back patio lined with flower murals.

The food which we shared in small plates fashion was excellent. The variety of the selections and flavors was simply great. This was my 2nd time and was equal to or better than my first dining experience at this restaurant. Our server really knew the menu and the pairing of our dishes. We sat in the patio which was perfect. Thanks for a wonderful evening in Detroit.

Still wonderful dishes. Points off only for most energetic noise level of all my recent restaurants - had to shout across the table.

Great service and experience. Portions of their great tasting cuisine should be larger even though they say they are "small plates". We were told starters/entrees could be shared with others at the table and that simply was not true for two or a table of six. Overall, great service and food!

We had a wonderful person serving our table. She was knowledgeable and attentive. The food was delicious. The noise level prevented me from giving this excellent restaurant five stars. I have enjoyed dining here in the past. I won’t be returning until there is some noise reduction renovation done. I could not hear the person seared three feet across the table from me.
