- WWendyBaltimore / Maryland •6 reviews5.0Dined 6 days agoThis was not our first visit to Sotto Sopra, and like our past visits it did not disappoint! We shared the burrata caprese salad, it was delicious. I had the Caccio e Pepe that was a chefs special. It was Devine. My husband had the halibut, he really enjoyed it. For dessert we had our usual, a chocolate lava cake and the mascarpone cheesecake-fabulous as usual. The service is always above and beyond. Cannot wait for our next visit.More infoSotto SopraPrice: Expensive• Italian• Mt. Vernon•4.7
- CChaskaHouston •2 reviews5.0Dined on Sep 24, 2024Had an evening reservation for two . Walked into the dimly lit rooftop greeted by Baltimore skyline. Our waitress, Andrea, was very knowledgeable and we ordered most of her recommendations. We started with cocktails that were expertly made. Our shrimp appetizer was yummy sitting on a bed of polenta . For our main we enjoyed the short rib that fell off the bone with carrots that were perfectly cooked on top of freshly whipped mash. For the other dish we chose the duck breast which was the best preparation of duck I’ve eaten. (Order it medium and thank me later) The sauce accompanying the duck really knocked the dish out of the park. Went for another round of cocktails and ordered the ricotta appetizer to go . Also I must mention the proportion size which was a pleasant surprise. Great experience!More infoTopsidePrice: Expensive• Contemporary American• Mt. Vernon•4.6

- WW BWashington, D.C. Area •20 reviews4.0Dined on Aug 31, 2024Escargot plainly served with garlic and butter would be better than the forestiere in porcini stock. And the duck hash is a bit dry. On the other hand, the specialty cocktails are outstanding and the onion soup is magnifique. And the wine choice was perfect and very reasonably priced. I will return for the evening menu, as I only had access to the brunch menu Saturday afternoon My expectations are high!More infoMarie Louise BistroPrice: Expensive• French• Pikesville•4.3

Discover Mt. Vernon
While many people only know Baltimore for its world-famous blue crab, especially in cake form, there has been a genuine tradition of innovative and classic American cuisine in the various parts of the city dating back to Colonial times. Mt. Vernon is absolutely a part of that tradition. A few of the restaurants in the area date back quite a bit themselves, and the strong mix of immigrants has created an innovative fusion that takes advantage of the coastal location of the eateries. The locale provides some of the best Atlantic seafood, and the Chesapeake Bay is famous for its bounty crabs, oysters, shrimp, and more. The entire neighborhood is a haven for foodies, especially those trying to discover American food beyond the burger.
