We chose to spend our anniversary dinner at Fogo once more. The food was delicious, as usual! The dining area is very clean and well kept - very nice dining experience. Also, as usual, our server didn't bring our check in a reasonable amount of time. 20 minutes after declining dessert and setting our dishes aside to be bussed there was still no sign of our bill, despite me placing our credit card on the table in clear view. My wife ended up asking a couple servers who were assigned to other tables for our check. Not sure if he thought we were going to tip lightly because we passed on the special appetizers and bottle service?? This happened last time we went to Fogo but we had waited even longer. The restaurant was not very busy compared to usual. What is the deal with the dismal state of the bathrooms? No hot or warm water at the taps and very messy. Frankly the inattentive service at the end of the meal repeating itself is causing me to question whether we will go back. Seems intentional and disrespectful... time will tell, I guess.

Food was great. We had pasta dishes and both were very tasty. Also recommend the avocado bruschetta. Our wait person James was fabulous. He gave recommendations, checked in with us just the right number of times and made us feel very comfortable. This is a bar and restaurant and not fancy but the food and service were terrific! We were there last Monday evening and it was half price appetizer night. My friend and I each got an appetizer and then we split their big chop salad - which is wonderful! I had the scallops and they were very good. We also got there in time for happy hour and they have a long list of martinis. We loved our martinis - they had a thin layer of ice on the top which I like. I would say we had one of the nicest waitresses we’ve ever had. So sweet. Like I said, not a fancy place but we loved it. I would recommend this place!

There’s something about a classic steakhouse with white tablecloths, history, and outstanding food that says Celebration. We started with beverages at the bar and enjoyed the complimentary garlic toast. Salty, buttery crunchy goodness pairs well with pretty much any cocktail and especially bubbly. My husband and I shared the Australian Lobster Tail and the KC Strip Steak accompanied by the Loaded Hash Browns. Dessert was the exquisite seasonal Raspberry Pie that topped off a lovely evening. It also speaks well of a place of employment when your server tells you she has been with the establishment for 18 years. Not many businesses can say that about longevity. We even went back today for lunch - Wedge Salad with Steak. The lettuce was cold and crisp, The tomatoes were ripe and tasty and bleu cheese dressing and bacon topped it nicely. The steak was tender and perfectly medium rare. This is definitely our go-to in downtown Minneapolis!
