Set in Kansas City’s historic City Market, Brown and Loe Restaurant’s inviting atmosphere is a blend of “big city” bistro with the welcoming casual flavor of a neighborhood favorite. Housed in a former Merchant’s Bank constructed in 1920, the restaurant honors the architectural details of the two-story building which features a façade of plate glass and verde marble floors and walls.
In the 1940’s, Brown and Loe was originally a produce broker with offices on the second floor of the Merchant’s Bank building. Awesome service and cocktails were amazing. Margarita pasta was great. Cheeseburger was good but felt that the patty had not been seasoned at all. The pepper bacon helped save it!

V's is always a go to for special occasions for us and this was no exception. We were celebrating our son's 20th birthday and this is one of his favorite places to go. Our waiter was great, service is always great and food was delicious. This family owned restaurant is and will always be one of our favorite spots for any celebration.

The Majestic Restaurant (Steakhouse and Jazz Club) remains one of the premier dining and music venues in KC, if not in the USA. Wagyu and Prime beef aged up to 32 days. Located in the historic Fitzpatric Saloon building. This restaurant's full jazz club operates downstairs and is open Wednesday through Saturday evenings, while the upstairs is open nightly. When the lower level jazz club is not open there is still live music upstairs. Matt Villinger whether solo on piano or with one of his trios or quartets is one of our favorites. We had another amazing steak dinner celebrating family and we will certainly be back.

It is said that tapas originated centuries ago. In Spanish, the word tapa or the verb tapar means to cover. Tapas represents the Spanish custom of placing a piece of bread over the glass of wine. It is a custom that dates back past the 1500's. Traditionally, the exact food served is less important than the social occasion. Tapas is a way of life. It signifies leisure, camaraderie and good humor. In Spain, Tapas are almost always accompanied by wine. They are not so much about talking as they are about eating and drinking. The wine is the medium that holds the conversation with friends and the food together. You make time to enjoy the moment in an unhurried way. The threefold purpose of snacking on tapas is to dull any hunger pangs that have built up since the previous intake of comestibles.

I've been dining at Story since it first opened - too long ago for me to remember. I have never, not once, had a bad meal there. During the first COVID days I'd order a meal from there and pick it up outside to take home. Their bread is fantastic and so good that one can eat too much of it before the main course if not careful. I love the simple, but large green salad and wonderful dressing. I love the fried chicken available on Wednesday nights and many of their other choices on other nights. The short ribs are another favorite . The restaurant is a beautiful place and during warm months, outside seating is also available. It is an expensive place to dine, but I have never been disappointed in the food, the service or the ambiance.

Contrary to popular belief, JJ's Restaurant is not named for popular owner Jimmy Frantzé. In 1985, Jimmy purchased JJ Malane's from his former business partner and the saloon's namesake. Malane's went away, but JJ's remained, and a West Plaza fine dining icon was born. Jimmy invested his enthusiasm and passion for exceptional contemporary American food, steaks and wine to build one of the finest restaurants in Kansas City just a block west of the Country Club Plaza. He helped create an environment that attracted and kept one of the most professional staffs in the region. He inspires so much loyalty that when the new JJ's reopened 18 months after a 2013 fateful fire, almost all of his staff re-joined him.

Tavern in the Village is a special restaurant located in Prairie Village, KS. Excellent menu backed up by a very good kitchen led by Chef Jennifer Le Blanc. Plates are delivered with an artful presentation for each menu item. Management, led by Shelby Johnson, has a well-trained professional service staff, who are well versed in the menu and seemed genuinely happy to be working at Tavern in the Village. Always thinking Tavern for lunch or dinner!

We made reservations and were promptly seated when we arrived. The waiter was very informative and had our drinks, appetizer and meal quickly. Our drinks never got half empty, the food was amazing. My wife had the Halibut and I had the Ribeye. Well worth the money and time. The valet parking was also very prompt and courteous. Nothing bad to say about this experience.

This experience is one all should experience! For around $40 you get a 3 course chef created dishes, plus bread service. Gratuity is cash only. It was difficult to decide on what each course we wanted but all the courses were visually appealing & had some complex flavors. I had the shrimp chorizo empanada, Panang Shirt Rib with rice & the warm cornmeal financier. My favorite dish was my dessert. I am still trying to wrap my head around all the elements of it. The only drawbacks wasthe noise level and our student server was a little slow, we had to ask for our drinks to be refilled every time and he didn’t provide much details in the beginning we had to ask. This is a great opportunity to eat from inspiring young chefs!

As usual was a good time. The Caesar with Salmon was spot on the bread was delicious. The lobster roll had lots of meat was served on folded over toast I prefer the roll and a little more creaminess but as always the fish house was great
