Was an absolute amazing place for a romantic dinner would highly recommend!!

Located close to the corner of Glenmore and Macleod we are Calgary's first Brazilian BBQ style restaurant. At Bolero the customer is in charge of the timing on our wide selection of churrasco(skewers) to be brought to your table by our Gaucho Chefs. Green means go and Red means stop. A perfect setting for any festive occasion as we offer a wide range of different, cocktails, wine, and beer. Dining with friends and family was meant to be fun, the Brazilian way!

The Bow Valley Ranche is located at the end of Bow Bottom Trail SE, in Fish Creek Provincial Park, just follow the signs for Bow Valley Ranche.

The Bow Valley Ranche Restaurant is the new fine dining facility located in the restored Ranche House. Their menu features a contemporary interpretation of Alberta regional cuisine. Today, the flavours and traditions of Alberta’s ranching heritage live on at the Bow Valley Ranche. Our Grand Salon holds approximately 110-120 guests. William Roper Hull and Senator Patrick Burns hold approximately 30-32 guests. Our John Glenn room, located in the upstairs, old master bedroom of the house, holds approximately 12 guests.

Sit down beside the massive fireplace in the Grand Salon or enjoy the covered wrap-around veranda during warm weather. Enjoy lunch, dinner, cocktails or weekend brunch. Reservations are recommended. Please note that we do not take reservations for the patio.

All our food was absolutely incredible. The service was extremely slow based on the fact that there was just as many staff as there were diners, but we weren’t too bothered by this as we were there to catch up with each other. If we had somewhere to be, it would’ve been a bigger issue. All three of us enjoyed the dishes we picked out, the food was fresh, and seasoned perfectly. This is such a gem of a restaurant for Calgary.

Raving reviews for the Spaghetti, Seafood Linguini, and Beef Tenderloin. The Carbonara and Agnolotti were salty and bland. Overall good experience.

Our décor is warm and modern. The tradition has always been dark wood, leathers and a muted palette for a steakhouse. We broke the mould and decided to add hand-selected music that reflects us! We’re more like Jay Z and less like Sinatra.

We only serve ranch specific Alberta Beef. That means we don’t serve beef from anywhere else on the planet. We know our farmers and ranchers personally and respect the hard work they put in to produce our beef.

We are one of just a handful of steakhouses in Canada that serves, Grass-fed, Grain-fed, Wet-aged, Dry-aged and Wagyu beef 365 days a year. Our beef is always fresh never frozen.

We use a 1800 degree Infrared Grill to cook your steaks. The high heat creates a flavourful crust on the outside of the steak and leaves a juicy centre.

Had a great evening at Modern Steak. We sat on the beautiful patio and had a lovely dinner. Steaks were cooked perfect with delicious flavour. Service was exceptional and the Thursday evening 50% off bottles of wine was a wonderful surprise. Looking forward to coming back soon.

The setup of the place is stunning, with flowers everywhere creating a beautiful, cozy atmosphere. I especially loved that I got to take a flower home — such a sweet and thoughtful touch. The drinks were not only amazing but also beautifully presented. Definitely a spot I’d recommend for anyone looking for great food and a unique, floral-filled vibe!

Had not been in years - restaurant still has a lovely, refined ambiance with the best feature being the very well-spaced tables. Service was very good - as expected for a restaurant of this calibre. Now to the food... I wish my lunch guest and I had been up for the 3-course prix fixe because I'm sure that would have represented far better value as is usually the case. We began with mocktails - my guest accepted the waiter's recommendation for the Yuzu 75 - she pronounced it delicious. I chose the Esprit Libre because it mentioned both raspberry and passionfruit - two of my favourites, neither of which was particularly discernible except for the vibrant red colour. Note to self: Listen to the waiter! We both had the salmon filet, which was on the small side and ever so slightly overcooked. The size would have been fine for lunch, but the accompanying tiny scoop of shredded celeriac topped with an even tinier arrangement of finely sliced green vegetable (I believe it was supposed to be asparagus) really was rather too precious for the $40 price tag. For this price point, you really do need a little more food on the plate (didn't cuisine minceur come and go in the '80s?) And while these vegetables were artfully arranged, they were also unforgivably salty (like no celeriac remoulade I have ever eaten). Again, I would not be so critical but this is a restaurant from which you expect better. Couldn't fault the Gâteau St Honoré tart though - it was delicious!

We went to Blu on Avenue Road for our 3rd anniversary dinner and had a quiet romantic table on the ground floor. Staff went out of their way to explain the menu and our choices. It was clear that they were very loyal and loved their jobs and the place. They did give us some quiet time too. Then we were told the restaurant was about to close because of a huge rent increase at their lease renewal. We hope the new location opening on King Street West will come close to the beautiful spacious building on Avenue Road. Even if it does not we will be there because the food and service is so good. We each had an amazing scallop appetizer and we were glad we did not split it and had our own. For main courses the pasta, lamb and beef tenderloin were cooked to perfection. We were too full for ordering dessert but they brought a tiramisu to share and we were able to finish before leaving happy. We can’t wait to return to the new location in May.

Celebrated 65 th birthday at Blue Bloods at Castle Loma which was wonderful. The ambience being in the castle and the beautiful atmosphere at the restaurant makes this a great place to go for dinner. Our server was fantastic and provided us with several options available on the menu and available wines. We started with grilled octopus and Caesar salad with a great bottle of Scarpetta wine. Our mains included a 8 oz fillet , large 12 oz strip loin and grilled salmon all cooked to perfection with grilled mushrooms, duck fat fries and an enormous bake potato and steak sauce as sides. Portions are very large so I recommend sharing with others. For dessert a large piece of cheesecake with a birthday candle to celebrate the special day. Food was delicious and would highly recommend experiencing dinner at the castle.

We were seated at the corner table overlooking the river when we arrived. It was beautiful and relaxing. The service was excellent and the food was awesome! Our waitress Sue was great, always came with a smile and was super helpful. We ordered a cocktail each, we got the tuna poke to start, the chips were good, a lot of salad and a little too much sauce on the poke it was salty. For our mains, my husband got the prime rib and I got the bacon wrapped tenderloin. the horseradish definitely hits, very strong. The prime rib you can’t go wrong with. I wanted to try something different. I was not a big fans of the topping on top of the tenderloin. Overall the food wasn’t too “wow” for the price. The service was great. Next time we would definitely try the ribeye and the flat iron steak

For the main courses, we enjoyed the Chilean Sea Bass, Rack of Lamb, and Gamberi Arrabbiata, which was served in a sauce made with San Marzano tomato paste, garlic, and dried red chilli peppers. These dishes were not just amazing; they were flavour bombs in our mouths! The service was outstanding as well – our server, Jelco/Zeljko (his name means "a desire for peace"), was attentive and friendly without being intrusive. Last but not least, the freshly oven-baked focaccia was thick, soft and fluffy – simply ne plus ultra. Our evening was an absolute delight! I highly recommend this restaurant!
