Our server Jeremiah was wonderful, but very honestly, the food was underwhelming. It certainly wasn’t bad, but not the quality of which we would’ve expected. Everything was slightly “too much”. Most items were heavily salted. I’m someone who looooves salt and generally over-salts my own cooking for preference, so that’s saying something. The wedge was over-dressed to where it became soggy and you lost the crunch of the iceberg. We usually are the people who ask for extra dressing so again, that says something. Other items were drenched in either oil or butter and stayed over saturated and wet. Particularly the croissants and wagyu skewers. When we took a bite, that oil feel just stayed. Wagyu particularly has a buttery feel, so extra was unneeded. We had a good variety of items, and I can’t particularly say we loved any of them. If we had to pick a favorite, it would probably be the rigatoni, which was also over-salted. Kind of a bummer. I will say the cocktails, however, were some of the very best we have ever had. I previously worked in the hospitality industry for nearly eight years in restaurant and bar management, some specifically being higher-end craft cocktail bars, and these cocktails still beat any of those. We had the signature mezcal drink (though I can’t remember the name now) and they’re not-so-old fashioned. Top tier and both extremely smooth. This and the service is what still makes me give a 4 star rating. We are slightly bummed, as of course we came for the food, but overall, we’d say it was “okay”. If only looking for cocktails and light bites, would absolutely recommend, but if searching for a nice dinner, would probably pass.

We had a little difficulty getting settled by the young reception staffer. We were placed in a very small table very close to a large group of twelve men and we asked for another table, of which several were available. The response was one of indifference and we considered leaving, but we have been here many times to our satisfaction and felt the girl was just having a bad day. Our server came and moved us and she was marvelous, as fine a server as we have ever experienced, named McKenna. She saved the day and was charming and accommodating. The food as always was wonderful.

We were delighted with our initial greeting/seating by the hostess. Our waiter, David, was the perfect balance of professional , knowledgeable and friendly. He expertly guided us through the menu and paced our tapas perfectly. We will definitely chose Valentina’s again.

Table service was outstanding. We got the filet mignon, truffle Mac n cheese, 1/2 order of oysters, bread, and the Maine scallops w/ shrimp on risotto. It was all delicious and cooked perfectly.
