Had an amazing dinner yesterday at BN. Teriyaki Eggplant was full of flavor and the Mushroom Dumplings were super tasty! For Dessert we had the chocolate cake and it was one of the best I had in a long time. Ambience was great. Surely coming back next time.

The rationale not to offer bread because it may have to be tossed uneaten, with charging for bread if desired, is bogus. If you have bread to sell you will have unsold bread to toss. Having to pay to soak in wonderful sauces puts a sour point in an otherwise wonderful meal. One pays a premium price for a premium meal experience. There is no justification for skimping. Add $1 per meal to cover bread goes unnoticed. Having to pay for bread if asked is self-defeating

Cora, our server was lovely and attentive to what we needed that evening including having been a time limit. The food was outstanding - particularly because it was elevated vegan food - difficult to get given that Bardo would not be considered "fine dining" so that it was a perfect example of what every restaurant should be doing. We are sad to see the James street location closing but completely understand the reasons. We will join them over on Locke!

Milos was a great experience. All food lovely. We had crab cakes, lamb, scallops and tomato salad. Could not resist the chocolate mousse cake, delicious. What an amazing experience. Every mouthful was sublime. Texture, flavour and presentation were next level. The trout was the best I’ve ever eaten. Service was impeccable. The food is just beautiful in every way, superbly presented with colour and style, the strawberry dessert was perfect, not too sweet and so refreshing after the meal. I just savoured every mouthful. I’m one of the fussiest eaters around as I’m a good cook and most of the time I’m disappointed when I eat out. This meal exceeded my expectations and I loved every mouthful. Can’t recommend highly enough. If I lived in Montréal I’d come here every week! It’s not often you find a restaurant that ticks all the boxes.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Gastown, so I looked forward to showing my SIL this place. As my SIL was still recovering from a bout of diverticulitis, I didn’t order a bottle of wine. I had two wines by the glass, and we shared a few dishes. We started with their fabulous bread service, then a Dungeness Crab salad, an Artichoke tart and their Terrine of Fois Gras. Our “main” was their Agnolotti. I had a glass of 2022 Garnier et Fils Chablis with the salads and a glass of 2016 Synchromesh Pinot Noir from Storm Haven Vineyard in Okanagan Falls, BC with foie gras and agnolotti. The Artichoke Tart was half salad, half egg custard tart with pieces of artichoke between the two. It was a light, refreshing dish. The Dungeness Crab Salad was a visual surprise … the crab was placed between thin slices of radish and decorated with green leaves. It was interesting; perhaps a little too subtle in flavor for me. The foie gras terrine came with two thick pieces of brioche. The square of terrine was decorated with squares of wine jelly, and cherry halves. The terrine was soft and silky and the brioche so buttery. The star of the evening was the Sweet Corn Agnolotti. Pillows of mascarpone pasta were covered with pieces of sweet corn and a generous helping of sliced black truffle. This dish was “to die for” and I wanted to order a second plate. I love the food at L’Abattoir and dine here every time I come to Vancouver.

This is one of the very best Japanese restaurants I’ve ever been to. Being a vegan sometimes leaves you with limited options so my wife and I choose Japanese restaurants frequently. Masaki was a real surprise. Although- It’s hard to find- a small sign on the side of a building which leads down stairs to a basement location. Once you’ve found the place everything falls together. From start to finish the service was wonderful..Beginning-The edamame was slightly fried, salted and done just right. The battered tofu was a real treat- absolutely delicious. The seaweed salad laced with fresh greens - definitely try this! And all the sushi’s were equally exceptional. The price was reasonable. Would give an extra star if I could!

The service was excellent. We had the kale salad to start/share and it was so good. Tangy and fresh. The bread with dip, garlicky and good. My daughter ordered the halibut which she loved. I tried it and it was tasty. I had the meatballs, the flavour was good, however, very dry unfortunately. Crème brûlée for desert which the server added a candle for my daughter’s birthday! Very thoughtful! We love this restaurant and are grateful for good quality food and a fantastic wine list. We will be back!

What a great evening. We hadn't been to the restaurant in years and I wanted to try it again. Everything was fantastic - the view of the city, the appetizers - salmon, foie gras, and romaine hearts were all wonderful. The mains - scallops, duck breast, and sea bass were incredible. For dessert - hazelnut bombe, milk and honey. Everything was perfect.

Everything was outstanding from the service, to the food, to the ambiance and decor. The server was amazing, very professional, folded the napkins of the people who had gotten up to take a smoke, and offered to keep his food under a hot plate until they returned. The decor was so so amazing, felt very high end. We sat outside and it was lovely. Maybe just need something to keep away the mosquitoes a bit. But overall highly recommend!

Perhaps the Wooly concept is best represented by renowned Canadian artist Charlie Pachter’s Queen on a Moose” paintings. These pictures conveyed what would happen if a British pub was transferred to Canada. That pub would feature local foods, beverages and decor. It would be an All-Canadian pub featuring the best of the British pub culture. A local or home-base pub for its guests.

The Wooly was inspired by the Ontario micro-brewery explosion that occurred in the late 1980’s. The brewery industry was dominated by 3 large companies for over 40 years until the start of the craft brewery phenomenon. Teaching a course on beers at the University of Guelph Bob Desautels was keenly aware of this development. When an opportunity to open a pub in downtown Guelph emerged he decided to feature only small micro-brews on tap.

Fantastic steak and sides. Great service. Comment on the cocktail shrimp. They had a very weird tomato sauce instead of the regular shrimp cocktail sauce. I simply asked for the cocktail sauce, and it was provided immediately. There's no need to mess with a classic.

We were seated quickly (but had made a reservation online). The service was attentive and quick. David was our waiter. They left us alone to chat and took our order when we were ready. They were able to accommodate a food allergy. The food came out quickly and was delicious. I always enjoy West Plains Bistro. The decor is lovely. It's my 'go to' place for a nice lunch or dinner, in the West end of Burlington.

Birthday dinner with the family. We were 5, plenty of room. The service was excellent and the server knew the offered products very well and was able to make great recommendations. Too bad the place closed, this was a jewel!
