Lawry's The Prime Rib - Beverly Hills
Book your next event with us
Need to book at 7:30 AM?Other great restaurants with availability.
The computer has a problem counting the bills. The price and bill does not match on the menu.
This is our visit in 18 months. The changes made recently certainly are worth it. The ambiance and setting is much improved, particularly if you want a quiet and subdued evening. The new decor is very upscale and inviting. The updated style in everything from upholstery to servers' outfits is sleek and modern. And of course, the food is great as always. But now there is a much expanded menu. We went with the expectation of getting our "old favorites" for dinner (which we did). But the larger menu actually makes choosing a real effort. New meats, new sides, new appetizers. And it all looks and sounds great. We are planning a return visit soon, so we can try some of the new offerings.
Was disappointed that they no longer serve their peas.
We will return.
The food and service were amazing! There expanded menu gave us the opportunity for some different choices for an entree. The service "team" really took care of us and we enjoyed it very much!
Birthday. Fabulous meal and service.
Had reservations for 4:30, had to wait at least extra 1/2 hr to be seated. Told the waitress that I was EXTREMELY allergic to garlic. My filet came with the garlic ??? was #1 wrong. I also ordered the three cheese potatoes and it was LOADED!!!!! with garlic and she should have told me that when I order my meal. :(
Great as usual!
Overall the food is always on point, however in the 35+ years I have been going to this landmark restaurant my experience on 2/22/2020 was by far very disappointing. I arrived 15 minutes early on my 8:30pm reservation & wasn't seated until 45 minutes later. It was our anniversary which I indicated however our waiter never acknowledged it & the two tables were seated 20 minutes after us got their drinks an dinner before us & left 30 minutes before us. Our service for $153.00 bill was very poor & very disappointing to say the least.. I have been a VIP member since 1989 however didn't feel that way at all..
Regards, DR /VIP memeber
I made a mistake going to this restaurant. It is not fine dining. It’s like being herded like cattle. Reservations times were not honored. We waited almost an hour to sit at a very small table that had not been cleaned properly. Crumbs from the last diners were all over the seats and the wine glasses were filthy and spotted. The staff promptly removed them and brought fresh clean glasses once we pointed out the obvious. The food was fine. The prime rib was tender and juicy and the lobster was cooked perfectly. The point is this type of food is available at many steak houses with out the wait with what seemed like hundreds of people. It is a restaurant of a bygone era and the decor is from out of the fifty’s. Seriously, not replaced since the fifty’s! So in conclusion, I won’t be coming back.
Horrible service and two couples ate and left before we were served. Very disappointed as it was my birthday.
Off tonight. Disappointed. Our server did not take care of the table. We felt like an afterthought
A fan for 60 years and last night the food and service was just fair.
Everything was fantastic. The service was great, the food was fabulous as usual and the atmosphere is always very nice.
We are not newcomers to Lawry's. This was, by a significant margin, our worst experience there ever. The food was, as always, superb. But the service was simply unacceptable. The waiter tried to upsell at every opportunity. I asked for a glass of Mondavi Cabernet, and was told that they were out of that wine. So I changed my order to a Strong Merlot. I had almost finished the merlot (which I enjoyed) before the food arrived, so I asked for a second glass. That second glass never arrived. However, our bill included the glass of cabernet (which they did not have), and both glasses of merlot (one of which I never received). We caught the manager's attention, and when I explained the situation, he removed all of the wine, and another drink, from our bill. While this good-will gesture was appreciated, it didn't really take much of the stink off of the evening. I would much rather receive everything I ask for and pay full price for it (and nothing else) than to receive a token discount as compensation for substandard service. The waiter returned to our table to apologize for the errors, but nobody at our table was convinced that his heart was really in it. We've had enough wonderful experiences at Lawry's to recognize that this time was an aberration, so we'll go back. But this experience was worth two strikes - another one like it, and we're done.
Not somewhere I would go time and time again. Prime rib was good, but that’s about it. I know, why get anything else when everyone goes there for the prime rib...but I don’t eat beef. I took my parents because they’ve never been and always wanted to go.
Friendly , delicious and fancy oh and did I mentioned delicious.
Lawry's is a dining institution in Los Angeles for a reason. Everything is top notch, from the ambiance, service and of course the famous Prime Rib. It's a place you'll find yourself going back to for years to come.
As usual great Food, Atmosphere and Service. Try to avoid Saturday night though as the bar and waiting area was a zoo.
It was a little pricey for my liking. The food was great but it wasn't quite worth the extra price for me. The service was top notch.
It’s a great restaurant with the classic ambience everybody can enjoy. I’ve been here several times but unfortunately I wasn’t really happy with our server for the first time in last decade. Their services were always great.
Have changed their menu, more non-prime rib dishes. My California Cut prime rib was better than a year ago. My guests were impressed the prime rib, food and the restaurant.
We have truly enjoyed our family sing experience for nearly 42 years. Ms. Alice was my late fathers favorite server.
Today we have ultra fabulous Ms. Nancy.
Our must have incredible cocktails with dinner for every Southern California visit.
Very nice. Very good service
The server was excellent and the food amazing!
Been coming to Lawrys for over 50 years and it consistently remains on of the best
restaurants. Can't wait for our next visit!
Great food! Will def return!
Our family has been coming to Lawry's for decades. Love the valet service, the food,
Just great prime rib, carved at your table! And excellent service.
Service was slow and the overall experience is sliding... Penny pinching cost cutting (eg cherry tomatoes in salad, crisps and meatballs in the bar area are long gone), and the smart starched uniforms/aprons of the female waitresses are gone too. Charging for side dishes has broadened (creamed corn used to be free), baked potatoes now $11, make Lawrys a somewhat expensive evening. The free mash, bread and Yorkshire pudding - is that next?? And the bill was incorrect as well (one item included for another table).
As a long time Lawrys customer, it’s sad the experience is declining as would seem the volume of customers in the waiting/dining areas. It used to be the ultimate in Prime Rib...
Been a great place for years, it remains one of the best in town
We thoroughly enjoyed the obligatory prime rib with fabulous Yorkshire Pudding. The lobster tail (from Nova Scotia) was perfectly prepared. Creamed spinach was also good. The “Meat and Potatoes” martini is brilliant! Great ambiance. Excellent service from Rocio and the other staff. A delightful flawless evening. Thank you!
As always the service and food was excellent.
Not sure y they always make u wait before seating. M sure u want people to go to bar but some people don’t drink
Group of old friends gathering for meat and martinis. Ain’t no big surprise.
Very personalized service
I would recommend Lawry's any day. I love this place, the food is fabulous and the atmosphere is very classy and comfortable. I wished they had one a little closer to the west side of Los Angeles. I would go there every week if I could.
Thank you for a wonderful evening of my 32nd anniversary with my husband..
