This is an old school prime rib parlor. Nothing special about the president me rib except they cut it at your table. Everything is below par. Service is intrusive. Dining room is outdated as are the uniforms. Wine list is horrible. Were they good at one time? I can’t see it.
Celebrated our anniversary there yesterday
Too crowded- reminded me of a public transportation hub
I am used to Alexander’s in the Bay Area so it was underwhelming
Had to wait 20 minutes despite having Opentable reservation made a month ago
Once seated we found out why
The food if you are into old school food could not be better
Cocktails are watery so stick to wine and beer
The food is always good and our waitress Ms Yager was incredibly friendly
We were placed in a lovely quiet section with a beautiful low lit setting and quiet music playing in the background. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was top notch. They even brought us out little complementary cake and champagne for our anniversary. Really such an enjoyable intimate evening.
Celebrating a birthday
Well I've been going to lawrys for 35 years and at no time when I've brought an outside dessert was I ever told there would be a cake cutting fee. I was in disbelief and the hostess was not even apologetic. I would like to know if this is a new policy. The funny thing is I didn't need and cake cutting they were mini bundt cakes the waiter just could have brought me the box. The Waiter did take each one and place it on a plate I guess that's what I paid 3.50 for.
The waiter was busy I guess my grandson (7) asked for done cherries he never got them. We ordered green beans after my grandson got his meal and the waiter said they might take some time we said that was fine, but we never got them. I love Lawrys but this was disappointing.
Where did the meat balls and chips go?
I always love this place!
This place is a landmark for a reason, and the whole experience was incredible and perfect. I need to go again!!
Value for money. Really good foodddddddddddddddddddd
I cannot express how much I love the food at Lawry's. It's so delicious!
Great food and great service. I only go on special occasions but every time I go it’s always great
All the food was very good as usual. The only thing we didn't like was the creamed spinach. There was no cream in creamed spinach. It was dry and not very tasty unlike the way Ruth Cris makes it. I should have sent it back I didn't. My bad.
I was very disappointed with the close seating that they had set up for couples only in the room with the fireplace . There was no privacy since my husband and I could hear the entire conversations of both couples sitting to the right and left of us. The seating was also very uncomfortable since my husband is 6’4 and I’m 5’10 we had no room to stretch our legs. I’m assuming since it was Valentines Day they were trying to accommodate as many people as possible. I saw several couples come to the area and refused to sit due to the tight seating. We honestly wanted to refuse to sit in the area but didn’t want to wait to be re-seated. Although I am a VIP at Lawrys I will NEVER celebrate another Valentines Day there.
The best always!!!
