As always the service and food were top quality. It is rare to get have the kind of service that is just right on top of the game these days. I live that that have They have kept everything the same including the cart , the uniforms , and service.
There is no other, always friend, food is fantastic. Would I recommend, absolutely.
Worth Every Penny! Did Not Miss a Beat! Food and Service are Equally Superb!
We went here in association with Dine LA and it was wonderful. Lots of people, fast service but delicious food, except for my dessert. I had the flourless cake and it was a little dry. Otherwise it was great.
Lawry's never disappoints. Our oldest sons are now away for school so it is a special treat when all six of us are together and can dine together. Where do we go? To Lawry's, of course! It is always more than just their delicious prime rib that we look forward to... it is the entire dining experience. From the friendly and attentive service to the iconic spinning salad to the aromatic service of the prime rib, we love it all. But for this mom of four young men, Lawry's is the ONLY place where they all eat their salads and their vegies!
The quality of the prime rib doesn’t seem like what it used to be. Last two visits the prime rib quality tastes different. Great service though.
We went for the dine L.A. special. It was wonderful. Will definitely return to Lawry's
The food was spectacular. It was our anniversary and they even gave us free champagne and cake to celebrate our anniversary.
I love the restaurant been going there for 38 years but they've done something now with the servers! They now working teams it's not as intimate you don't have the relationship I've had the same waitress forever and now it's a team and I don't like that bad idea middle management trying to make themselves important!
Lawry's is an institution of a restaurant. They have been serving prime rib
for decades. They know what they are doing. The food is always very good.
The service is also very good. Our server was attentive and caring.
We have been going here for years and will continue to do so.
I highly recommend this restaurant to any meat eater, although
they now do server seafood.
Absolutely a wonderful meals with best friends. The food was fabulous the service perfection and the atmomsphere spectacular
I would like to give a shout out to whoever chills the white wine ,I has a glass Of Chardonnay and it was chilled to perfection
Best restaurant in the world. No other prime rib like this anywhere at any price. We have been going there for about 50 years, and nope for another 50. My father was a butcher, and this was the spot for any family occasions, even though he could hardly afford it. It was worth it then too.
There is an exact duplicate in Las Vegas which has the same decor, and the same food.
Prime rib with all the fixings, delicious and high quality meat and sides. Great for special occasions.
Sadly I don't think Lawry's is quite as good as it used to be. We went for the dineLA special and just the way the slice of Prime Rib was cut it was like a v-shaped thick at one end and then just like a thin piece of paper at the other a very uneven cut. Also the lobster tail was so tough it was inedible I'm wondering if it was left over from the day before. We've done here quite often but will probably not go back in the near future.
Great service and friendly server! Delicious food. Was able to share our anniversary and was surprised with Apple drink and strawberry dessert.
My youngest son and I absolutely love spending time together and one of the best times we have is when we go to Lowery's for dinner he no longer lives in La he works in San Diego and I really miss spending time with him so when he comes into town we love spending our time eating and our favorite place is Lowry.
I've been coming here for 40 years and brought my son for the first time when he was 13 and I remember his words to me on the way home he said Dad I can't believe you've kept this place a secret from me all this time. Ever since then he and I come back frequently he's a football player has been nearly all his life he likes to eat and this is his favorite place to come to. Lawry's is Elegance and class without pretentiousness.
Great food and great service but one thing Valet people are not that great took forever for them to bring my Honda Civic but had no problem getting other people’s fancier cars.
Lawrys has been my favorite restaurant since I was itty bitty!...and the perfect place for yet again, another birthday celebration!
Excellent service and food. My friend and I had a wonderful dinner and experience. Could not be improved
Aw c’mon it’s lawrys. It’s a classic. An old school fine dining experience that can’t be topped.
As always, seating was quick, service was friendly and accurate, and the food was fantastic.
A bit backed up at the valet booth but, with the dinner rush that's to be expected.
Food is great. Always has been always will be. Service started out great then fell off.. no refills on drinks. Had to ask twice. Notice booth we were sitting in had torn leather seats. Really a nice place like this and that hadn't been fixed.. or the table wasn't marked as not available until it could be repaired?
Steak was ordered medium rare and arrived less than rare. Had to send back. It came back Medium. No one ever came back to check if the meat was okay or not. Sad reflection on such an historic place.
This is one our favorites! Been coming for 40 plus years !
It was my wife’s birthday and Lawry’s didn’t disappoint. Food was great, portions were good and service was fantastic as always.
The prime rib was not as good as the good old days, when the meat was soft and practically, like my father always said, the prime rib melts in your mouth, I have been visiting Lawry, 3 times a year for the past 40 years; this time wasn’t better than the last time, I will still come back for the tradition...
Old school excellence. Had dinela me; it did not disappoint. Our server Tera was helpful and very cheerful. Food everything we expected and more. We will be back.
Can’t beat Dine LA
I've been a customer at Lawry's my entire life. Wedding receptions, Christmas dinners, date nights, and the random craving for spinning bowl salad would bring me in once in awhile. The most recent time was for DineLA, which is an amazing deal. Prime rib, lobster tail, salad, yorkshire pudding, mashed potatoes and dessert for $49/pp? Yes, please. It also happened to fall on my anniversary with my partner, so we made a date of it.
Let's start with the good: The food, the ambiance, the service, the polite wait staff...They are unchanging and that is something to be appreciated. Even when it's an "off day"...i.e. the prime rib happens to be a little dry, I really don't mind because it's just a lovely experience overall.
What bothered me about this recent trip was our waitress. She interrupted our meal twice to try and market their VIP points program, and again with a gift card sale they were having. I was handed flyers and brochures in the middle of my salad and again during my prime rib. It was very off putting. If this was something upper management is making their wait staff do, I would like to suggest that it be done with tact, perhaps at the end of the meal, brochures and flyers tucked into the bill. When our waitress handed us the check, she asked yet again, if we were going to sign up for the VIP or purchase a gift card. When I told her no, she huffed and said, "so...you don't want the free money?" Unprofessional and uncomfortable.
Lawry's, I love you so, but please relax with the upselling.
I only go here during Restaurant Week and this time was no exception. My dad got the prime rib, but I got the salmon due to some alarming cholesterol numbers from my doc. The prime rib was good, but the salmon was a little dry. However, overall the meal was excellent, as was the service.
Food is consistently excellent. Service is also excellent. We went for the Dine LA special and it was a real bargain! You can not go wrong at Lawrys.
Lobster tail was overcooked. Prime rib was excellent.
Very enjoyable . The food was very tasty and brought out in a relatively good amount of time. Can’t remember our server’s name but she is always so nice and informative as she has been there a very long time. Thanks for everything.
Went there during Dine LA which is a fantastic deal. I've been before and the service is always outstanding! Even during a busy time with the place packed with DineLA-ers, the service was superb. Never felt rushed and always taken care of by their friendly staff. And a great place to get some nice meaty comfort food. Try the meat and potatoes martini--it's almost like having a meal!
Service was awesome!
Overall the prime rib is very tender and good. We enjoyed it very much!
The prime rib wasn’t warm. They were really busy so maybe they had the cart open for too long.
Great food, but although we arrived on time for our reservation we weren’t seated until about 25min after our reservation time which was very disappointing. Overall the service and atmosphere left something to be desired, especially when a $20 tip to the carver (for a table of 3) made no impression whatsoever. If you’ve never been here definitely check it out, but probably not worth a return trip. Really I wish the service matched the food quality.
Food was fantastic, and the Service was excellent.
