I am American and travel to the UK every couple months on business for the past 15 years. I love coming to Tapas Bravas because the food is fresh, and always well executed…it’s consistent. This makes it the ideal spot to book for business guests for a casual dinner/drinking session with a great view of the docks. When I have hosted Catalan guests, I have heard comments that the menu is not super authentic…but I also spend a lot of time in Barcelona and it is close enough IMO. The Iberico and cheese tapas are legit. The Pan Catalan /Pan de Tomate is not a traditional make your own at the table, but it is still delicious…could eat all day. The patatas bravas are good, but the star of the dish is the salsa brava as the potato cubes are not as large/crispy as I would like.
The protein tapas that I have had are all excellent and executed beautifully: Pork Belly, lamb chops, and Octopus.
My female guest last night is somewhat picky but loves salmon. The salmon tapas that were ordered were amazing and they looked beautiful, almost like a decorative sashimi appetizer that you could find in a Japanese **restaurant**.
