We ate at Ducey’s for the sunset special and it was a nice deal for high quality food. I had a Ceasar salad and it was huge!!! It also came with a bowl of soup which tonight was chicken corn chowder. The soup was homemade and delicious. My husband had the fried chicken with mashed potatoes and it was also a very large portion. Our waitress Grace and second waiter Joe were both amazing. What a wonderful experience! It felt like home, seeing the lake out of the window.

We made reservations at the hotel restaurant expecting a wonderful dining experience. From friends we had heard about the outstanding food and wonderful ambiance. It wasn't until we checked in that we found out that the only option for our dinner reservation that evening was buffet... and we found that out only by reading the fine print on the information paper provided at check-in. Due to construction, a buffet was the only option offered in the hotel restaurant at a pricy $63 per person. My husband and I ate the buffet and it was NOT a good value; the food was a very mediocre buffet (including desserts that looked like they could have been purchased from Costco). Our reservation was for 8:15 so by then salads were soggy, broccolini was overdone, fish had little taste. We should have been informed PRIOR to check in, when we made the dinner reservation, that a buffet was the only option for $63 per person. We were so looking forward to sharing a special dinner with my nearly 90 year old mom but when she saw the price and that a buffet was her only option (she eats small amounts) she chose to have a sandwich in the room from the sweet shop. The dining experience turned a special occasion into a real disappointment! For a four star hotel this was very disappointing. This was at best a $20-25 buffet, and not a good one. The rest of the hotel was great. Unfortunately because we had so looked forward to this dining experience, and had built it up to be a very special occasion for my mom, it put a big wet blanket on our one night stay at the Ahwahnee Hotel!

We loved this place, accept for it being next to the Hotel Pool with a lot of happy kid noise. The good was great and our waiter was excellent. it is pricy but it is after all, a resort hotel on the way to Yosemite. We would recommend this place.
