Il Terrazzo Carmine, owned and operated by Carmine Smeraldo, is one of Seattle's true dining anomalies - a highly successful restaurant with unfailingly high standards and a loyal, sophisticated clientele. The cuisine has been acclaimed as Seattle's best by the media and more importantly, by local diners. Il Terrazzo Carmine is located in historic Pioneer Square - nestled in an urban-renewed alley with entrances through the vintage lobby on First Avenue or through the delightful courtyard in the back. Since 1984, Carmine Smeraldo's classic Italian restaurant has been where the locals have chosen to return over and over again. From the Carpaccio Di Bue and Spaghettini Dell 'Ortolano for lunch to the Suprema Di Pollo Farcita and Zuppa Di Pesce for dinner you will know you have gone to a place where excellence is a way of life. Arguably the best Italian restaurant in Seattle, Il Terrazzo serves classical Italian cuisine with an atmosphere you may want to call home and never leave

What a pleasant surprise! We loved every aspect of this stunning new restaurant inside the gorgeous Populus Hotel in Pioneer Square. Jaw’s dropped when dishes were brought to our table by fabulous servers. Every outstanding morsel was relished. The menu is eclectic and modern and not in a weird way. I’ve never been to a new establishment that was run so smoothly. And we took a quick peak at the views from Firn their rooftop bar. We will be regulars.

I made the reservation two weeks in advance, and when I got there, we had the worst table in the house. Literally in the hallway by the check-in desk. To their credit, when I asked if we could be moved, they did find another table and move us outside about 20 minutes later. The decor and feel of the place is beautiful. The views are OK for a rooftop bar. Most of your view is the side of a building, but you have a peekaboo view of the space needle and a partial view of the stadium. We only ordered one food item, but it was very good

We really enjoyed our wine and charcuterie before the Pioneer Square Art Walk. We sat inside but there were tables outside too. We had a flight of four wines which were bery good. Food was good but would have liked a little more for the money. Definitely worth a visit or two.
