There were only two of us, so we couldn't order as much as we did last time, but the clear standout for us was the oxtail with udon noodles. The oxtail was still attached to the bone, but came off easily with a fork, and the noodles were the perfect starch for the entire meal. For a starter we had the hamachi which was delicious, but maybe could have used something to ramp up the overall flavor such as a bit more jalepeno or some more citrus. We also got the blackened ahi which was good but not particularly special. You could have it anywhere. The brussel sprouts were delicious and the zucchini was good, but not as good as the brussel sprouts. Definitely worth a try.More infoArden WaikikiPrice: Expensive• Contemporary American• Waikiki•4.7

Cliff was our server and was outstanding. When he learned that my husband and I were in Waikiki to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary, he went out of his way to give us extra special service. Thank you, Cliff! That breakfast was one of the highlights of our vacation!More infoMonkeypod Kitchen - WaikikiPrice: Moderate• Hawaii Regional Cuisine• Waikiki•4.6
- LLoriannvipSan Francisco Bay Area •1 review5.0Dined 6 days agoThe Hau Tree restaurant in the Kaimana Beach Hotel is a hidden gem. The restaurant decor, menu and the whole hotel has been updated and modernized. The vibe is modern boho beach. The food is great and so is the view of the beach right in front of the restaurant and the people watching. If you want to sit on the lanai nearest to the sand and beach, reservations are a must. They open for service at 8 am (I think daily) and there are people waiting to queue up before 8. The service has always been warm and friendly, but on these last two visits in particular we had Rajah as our server and he went above and beyond to make sure our meal was thoroughly enjoyable and was friendly and attentive. He noticed the papaya I had ordered and already eaten was half ripe and apologized and went back and got me a fully ripe and delicious papaya at no extra charge. Make a reservation and go...you'll love it!More infoHau TreePrice: Expensive• Mediterranean• Honolulu•4.7
- SStevevipChicago / Illinois •42 reviews5.0Dined 6 days agoOne word- incredible!! THE best French onion soup I have ever had. The broth, to the Maui onions, to the pastry top. It was not yo be topped. Opakapaka was the fish of the day. So tender and delicious. Can’t wait to return. But the highlight was the beautiful decor and stunning views. Plus the service is unmatched.More infoMichel's at the Colony SurfPrice: Very Expensive• Contemporary French• Waikiki•4.7
