Been here 20 years ago when the kids were young and we stayed at the Manny this time we stayed at the Fairmont Orchid took their shuttle over… 5:30 reservation and we were sitting at our table at 5:35 front row to the most beautiful sunset (except the night before and the night before and the night before!!!). Tempura lobster left you wanting more as well as the Hirkkaida scallops were also incredible. We split the 24 ounce ribeye, medium rare on the rare side and that was epic. Perfectly seasoned perfectly cooked and didn’t need any of their two different sauces to dip in, but still were each excellent in their own way.

Wonderful experience for dinner at Merriman’s. Started with cocktails, a Merriman’s Mai Tai, Lilikoi Margarita, and a Manhattan. We all loved these, and ranked them in the top 5 we’ve ever had (and we’ve had a lot all over the world ;). My wife and I shared a Beet Salad, it was delicious, and uniquely Hawaiian influenced. The guys both had the Lamb Entree, which was a grilled lamb chop paired with lamb shoulder that was prepared in a sauce that was really tasty, almost a gravy with some veggie chunks. It was so delicious that we were both dipping bread and such to get every drop. Both gals had the Chateaubriand which had a tasty sauce, sliced and cooked to perfection. We all shared the Chocolate Purse dessert, which my friend aptly described as “orgasmic”. We all recommend this place highly to everyone, and will plan to eat here on every trip to this island!

My mother, husband, and I had lunch at Halani yesterday. My husband and I were celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary. We all had a wonderful experience! I ordered the Kaua'i shrimp pizza. My husband ordered the Big Island pizza, and my mom ordered the herb-marinated chicken club sandwich. Everything was delicious! I saved room for dessert because I wanted to order all three options: Big Island Macadamia Crunch Cake, Ube Shokupan Bread Pudding with Milk Ice Cream, and the Coconut Butter Mochi Sundae. Wow! All three desserts were incredible! Our favorite was the Big Island Macadamia Crunch Cake. The servers were outstanding. They were so warm and friendly. They exuded the "Aloha Spirit." The ambience is excellent, as well. I highly recommend Halani for an exceptional dining experience! We are still talking about the great time we had yesterday. Thank you to everyone at Halani for making our 35th wedding anniversary special!

Last breakfast before checking out and going home.... Went for it and had the Classic Eggs Benedict (comes with salad!). The best part was the service and friendliness of the waitstaff who already know me by sight. I had breakfast and dinner just about everyday during my 4-day stay. Wonderful service and great choices on menu.
