Restaurants near Freestone Railroad Station Historical

Although we arrived early for our reservation, we were promptly seated which was very nice. Our waitress came right away and wanted to know what we wanted to drink. We told her we had to look at the menu for a minute. She left and almost immediately came back. We ordered our drinks and she wanted to know what, if any, appetizers we wanted and what we selected for our meal. Again, we had to tell her we needed a few minutes to decide. She brought our drinks and asked if we decided yet. I had decided but my husband had not. She then said, “okay I’ll circle back again”. This time she actually waited a few minutes before she came back and we placed our order. Our food came out in a reasonable amount of time and we no sooner got our order until another girl came by and asked if she could get us boxes to go. I told her that we just got our meal and we would like some time to enjoy it. She just smiled and walked away. Then a few minutes later our waitress came back and asked if we planned on ordering anything else and if not, she would bring us the check. This restaurant was not busy and even so, we had a reservation and we were entitled to order and enjoy our dinner. We have never felt so rushed at a restaurant . We were in and out all within 45 minutes. I don’t live in the area and here in vacation but when we come back to this area next year, we won’t be returning.

The chicken vegetable soup was amazing and it is so good and I found out that the restaurant will be serving beans and rice soup tomorrow night which I will have. Soups are a wonderful production from Carsons and I hope they will make it a focus of their presentation and Marketing. Our server whose name was John was excellent and we had a good experience all around. 

Perfect meeting place for fine dining. Reservations were a breeze. Courteous welcome upon arrival. Drink menu is perfect- not limited to JF wines and the cocktails are wonderful. We started with the charcuterie board which had in house made crackers, sausage, variety of cheeses and some chutney which was delicious. We all had a different entree and none of us left anything Portions are moderate in size and easy to consume. Others came and left while we were there- some to dine some to just have a drink and sit outside. The chef came out personally to check on us which was a lovely personal touch. This is a great place to eat. Personal attention is given to all patrons. We never felt rushed in fact they were so kind we had no idea we had stayed for over three hours.

First time to Caproni's and it will not be the last. We drove an hour to get there but the food and ambience made up for it. We were seated 5 minutes prior to our reservation time by welcoming and polite staff. Our server was to notch meeting all requests. From appetizers to the dessert we found all dishes quite pleasant. We also enjoyed the live music, which was played at a volume that still allowed comfortable conversation for our family. We will definitely be returning.

We enjoyed a lovely lunch at Loma's. The Tomato Pie was delicious! Looking forward to next time!
