Thank you for visiting Kenichi Izakaya Carbondale. An Izakaya is a type of informal Japanese pub. At sake breweries during the late 18th century, people in Japan began using sake kegs as stools, and snacks were served. This small plate menu was designed to encourage sharing amongst friends and family. Food is prepared in multiple kitchens and arrives as it is ready to ensure freshness. We make most of our menu in-house, from scratch, and use locally sourced ingredients whenever possible.If no reservations are available, please note that we do have walk in apcae at our bar and sushi bar. Welcome to Tempranillo Restaurant, where internationally acclaimed Chef Javier Gonzalez-Bringas, along with his partner and wife Laura, offer a daily menu of drinks, tapas, dinner and lunch. Gonzalez-Bringas, a Madrid Native, combines an old-world style with a new-world flair in his signature cuisine. The name Tempranillo, itself, pays homage to one of Spain's premier grape varieties, and true to its name the restaurant features a selection of over 100 hand-chosen wines. The atmosphere at Tempranillo is notable for its rich colors, dual fireplaces, and community gathering table-all reflecting the equally rich depth of flavors and influences which are at the heart of the restaurant's origins. Ours isn’t a traditional Thai restaurant. We are not Thai. We’re not even Asian. Not even close. Hell, we’ve only visited Thailand!Don’t try to compare our green curry or phat thai with your favorite spot in Thailand. Ours is likely not equal to the one you remember, just different. Our curries aren’t striving to replicate that one you had at your favorite Thai restaurant in LA. That one’s probably better, and next time you visit, we’d like for you to bring us some take-out.Our cravings always migrate towards Asian, particularly Thai. The smell of mint, cilantro, and peanuts, the radiant warmth of Thai chili, the satisfying richness and funk of fish sauce, the acidic slap in the face of lime. It’s as heart-warming to us as our grandmother’s cooking… except, of course, she wasn’t Thai either.We simply try to serve good food and drink. This is our homage, our adoration, and our inspiration – this is our joint in SE Asia – our version anyways.

Whether you prefer informal or formal, dinner is based on fresh, sustainable local foods paired with local wines. Tapestry Lounge features signature cocktails, wine and beer along with small plates and an informal menu. The more formal Victorian dining room, Caroline’s, focuses on fresh Colorado foods such as elk and beef along with fresh, local produce prepared in the classic French tradition.
