The hostess was terrible, the waitress was terrible, the food was very good. I had a Caesar salad with ahi tuna, my husband had a Monte Christo sandwich. He ordered the sandwich with a salad as the side, which was in the menu, but was served French fries. When he asked about that, he was told salad is not an option. When he asked the manager she corrected it and brought the salad. The waitress didn’t know the menu.
This past weekend we wanted to take a friend and her husband out for a nice dinner to thank them for all the hard work they put in to make our small wedding a success the night before. But by the end of our meal I was very disappointed and frankly a little embarrassed to have brought my guests here. The food was great, but the service was terrible.
The menu has its protein names in other languages – which would be fine had the waitress been able to explain that. When asked what Canard was, she had to go to the kitchen before coming back to tell us. She also could not tell us what Gambas nor Mejillones were. I used google translate and then told her what they were. I asked what the vegetarian dish of the day was – she also did not know but took orders from others at the table anyway and then sent over another waiter to tell me what the veg dish was after the fact.
At one point she took the opportunity to tell us how stressful of a day it had been and how people kept calling in sick to work, among other details that felt more deserved for friends or coworkers than dining guests.
In between doing her job, our waitress would go chat with a man at a table nearby and walk around with a baby we assumed was hers. She kept checking on them and chatting while taking bites of food.
When our food was delivered - everyone was given the wrong plate of food, so we had to switch hot plates around the table. And as we left the restaurant, she was just hanging out at the bar like she was off work.
We were there a little over 1.5 hours just for two starters and our entrees. One couple who showed up after us ended up walking out before even placing an order.
I will say the other waiter who stopped was lovely, so maybe we were just unlucky. And the food was phenomenal so no qualms about the kitchen. But a pricy (for us) dinner celebrating a special occasion is just as much about the service as it is the food.
Wonderful experience and celebration for our wedding
Nice evening in a very nice outdoor dining space. Menu was limited; however, the meat selection was good.
My daughter was in town. Beautiful evening. Delicious trout!! Great cocktails.
I'm fairly certain I've been to this restaurant for decades. Love it. The best meal I've had in months. The gazpacho was great, the Monte Cristo, perfection.
The new Mediterranean menu is amazing. Everything was good, except that my lamb ribs were a bit gristly. Ambiance, as always is the best patio in town. I'm a Santa Fe resident and this is one of my favorite places to take clients for dinner.
Made a reservation for 4. Restaurant was closed when we arrived. They did not even bother to call or email re closure ! Been there many times before Will never go back. Very embarrassing for me and our guests
We had dinner inside and the only con is the design which start to show is age but it s a minor detail ! The food and service were excellent
The new menu has some wonderful Mediterranean dishes.
Beautiful courtyard setting. Mediocre food. Might recommend for a drink and appetizer, but no further.
Great lunch on the patio
Casa Sena has changed their menu to be totally Mediterranean vs southwest. Our favorite foods were not on the menu. Our fun was good, but not what we were expecting.
Our waiter disappeared during the middle of our meal. We had to ask other waitstaff for help.
very good service and the quality of the food was very good. Excellent choice for family and friendly gathering with friends and acquittances family oriented place right in the middle of the city very close to all major hotels
Love the new menu... will be back next week. Great Job..
Very relaxing and peaceful
Very nice light lunch on a beautiful patio. Gazpacho and hummus pita dish was perfect amount for 2 people. We will try for dinner as well😊
This was a birthday dinner for my wife. We have not been here much since they cut down the giant tree in the patio. We miss it, but the ambience is still great. And since we wish them every success, we're glad they have so much space to seat people in the age of COVID.
Delicious food, kind staff, and beautiful courtyard!
I ordered the lunch dish called Bacalhau a Bras.
I did not enjoy it. An explanation on the menu or if I had asked the waitress, I wouldn't have ordered it.
There was no toast. The other menu items are all mixed together. Not an appetizing looking or tasting dish.
It’s nice to see the best dining in Santa Fe is open again!
great as always...clean, delicious, lovely patio area
Friendly well-spaced, serene dog-friendly patio dining.
Lovely evening in the beautiful Casa Sena courtyard. Loved the Spanish-inspired menu - everything was fabulous
Beautiful patio setting, outstanding food, stellar service, and delicious drinks! I highly recommend Casa Sena for any occasion.
Our waiter, Ben, was delightful. Lovely meal and delicious. Everyone was very gracious and attentive. Thanks for a great experience. A solid establishment with a great reputation. Wouldn’t be Santa Fe without this great place!! I have been coming here for years.
the service was terrible and the food was tasteless. Will not return tge escargot was hard and had mo flavor! The lamb chops had no taste too was really bad dining experience! Never agsin
I recently had my second dinner at La Casa Sena in the past week, and it was as delicious and delightful as the first. The atmosphere is calming, and the food is excellent. Waiters are very helpful and knowledgeable about items on the menu.
We love this restaurant. We liked the old menu better but the new Mediterranean menu was delicious also. The courtyard is beautiful and a great setting for lunch or dinner. They also have wonderful cocktails!
Great patio! Nice place to unwind and relax.
Our meals were simply outstanding. Service was far less than expected. We understand that the restaurant industry is really struggling, so it is imperative they hire the best available, as tons of wait-staff remains unemployed. Not a good time to tolerate less than satisfactory wait staff.
Great service-no unreasonable wait for food or being seated. Great atmosphere. Only negative was that I had to buy a $9 bottle of pelligrino-way too much to drink and pay. Food was delicious, tables properly spaced. I'll be back.
It was good to have this back. A slightly changed menu and a more limited wine choice. The service was a little ragged as they coped with the health restrictions. But if you’re not going out much this was a good night.
My friend and I came for dinner to celebrate our birthdays and a thunderstorm started just as we sat down and lasted about 1 1/2 hours. The waiters were patient and wonderful, and the ambiance of a much needed rain made the evening very memorable. Food was great (try the trout), and the celebration was perfect.
We had a delightful lunch at La Casa Sena in their open-air courtyard. We had the Monte Christo sandwich and the Bacalhau à Brás, accompanied by two house margaritas. Delicious. The staff is great and the ambiance very peaceful in these difficult times. We will be going back again soon with friends.
Casa send has been around for 30 years. I still think they have the prettiest patio in town. Our food was exceptional last night. The beet salad was amazing and enough for a meal if you add in an appetizer. The trout was amazing too. Service , perfect! Treat yourself to this wonderful experience.
Great meal very relaxed
The food was adequate. The patio at this restaurant is always beautiful. Attentive service.
Beautiful setting for any occasion. Food was delicious with unique twist
We sat outside on the beautiful patio for lunch, everything was delicious, can’t wait to come back and try the rest! Very fresh, definitely recommend!
