From start to finish, a superb experience. Seated right on time in a pleasant rustic dining room. Service was friendly yet professional. Prices on the expensive side, but the dishes were unequalled. Spanakopita, meatballs, and avgolemeno soup all superb. The chicken and lamb chops no less special. Very non-traditional preparation of galactobureko, but still very good. Have eaten in many Greek restaurants, but this is the hands-down winner.

Food and service are outstanding. I always opt for the whole fish, roasted or grilled and bones removed.

First time in SF. This was a wonderful birthday dinner.

Kokkari is outstanding in all respects. The food and service were above and beyond. We both had fish entrees that were perfectly cooked and seasoned.

Food was overpriced for lunch portion. Waiters push items that are high priced. Not as good as NY.

Love this restaurant! Always have a great experience from the food to the service to the ambience. Highly recommend, especially for special occasions. Just make sure to reserve in advance. I usually book about 3 weeks out.

Outstanding service. Our waiter was attentive but not hovering over us. He made fantastic recommendations. The bartender made a special cocktail for me that was out of this world just based on the flavor profile I wanted. All the mezzo plates were delicious and the waiter took his time to arrange the order of their arrival to create a culinary experience. I was disappointed they didn’t deliver the saganaki on fire to the table but it was by far the best item on the menu! Note: the restrooms are far away and you have to take an elevator to a lower level. Expect to take time going there.

Food was elegantly presented, the flavors were superb . Atmosphere was a bit noise but manageable.

I love Greek food but this was by the best I have ever tasted. We had the Street Corn Salad, the Watermelon Feta Salad, the Greek salad and the lamb riblets and finished by their delicious homemade yogurt with dates and toasted pine nuts. The wine recommended by our charming waiter paired perfectly with the food and he went on to explain that the higher sugar content of the grapes caused by the volcanic soil in which they grown created not a sweeter wine but a wine slightly higher in alcohol which was very helpful to know . The restaurant is beautiful, the service charming and food divine. Altogether an experience fit for the Gods which the Greeks evoke so beautifully.... In addition it is steps from the Embarcadaro where you can stroll and burn off some of the calories in this delicious and actually healthy meal

Server was great. Was a little concerned sitting so close to a 2- top. Due to Covid-19. Couple was not their out entire meal and no one was seated there after they left.

Kokkari has always been excellent, and one of our favorites. But during our latest visit the food and service surpassed even our very high expectations. The service we received from Valerie was simply outstanding, and the soutzoukakia and the plevrakia were incredible. And of course, every other dish we ordered was excellent as always (lavraki, tsipoura, oktapodaki, marides). Wow, what a treat!

It really really breaks my heart to have to write a negative review for my beloved Kokkari. We have been coming here for over 10 years and it has been our favorite restaurant in SF.
But judging from the past 2 visits, there is reason for concern. Last night our main course consisted of: Branzino, Ribyeye Steak, and Moussaka.
The fish was dry and over cooked. Moussaka was really overwhelmed by cinnamon and thin white sauce. But the steak was the ultimate disappointment. Very lump and tons of connective tissue that make it hard to cut and chew. What’s more disappointing is that I specifically asked our waiter if he could make sure we get a good piece of steak.
The desserts I am happy to report were as lovely as always.
I hope the overwhelming number of new staff will not result in a permanent drop in quality. One more negative experience and even die hard fans like us will have to look for a new favorite.

Our first time together in SF and our lunch and service could not have been better. What a treat! The octopus and zucchini cakes were exquisite!

Family of 5 visiting from NJ. We had Jimmy as our waiter and he was a great source of tips and advice. He was also very funny. Our dinner from the appetizers to the main meal to the desserts we shared- was perfect. It was delicious and totally worth the time and money. Go here if you want an excellent and unforgettable meal- and don’t eat anything before you go ;)

We had a great time. Our waiter was perfect, great service, attentive but not too attentive and he had a great sense of humor. The grilled octopus was to die for!

This was one of the best dining experiences ever.

The ambiance in each of the rooms offers you a wonderful experiences - high ceilings, beautiful bar, nice lighting with windows and a quieter smaller back room! The service is terrific and they time the dishes to your pace! We have always had servers with the right balance of friendliness and helpfulness, never overbearing or rushing! The food is so consistently good and wonderfully spiced!

I love this restaurant and it is my yearly birthday treat. It was not up to normal standard for Kolkati this time & I was dissatisfied & disappointed. Our server was not friendly at first, he ignored us and was verging on rude. We weren’t asking for anything unusual just asked him to repeat himself( I have hearing issues especially in a noisy restaurant). He seemed put out & ignored us for awhile until we started ordering big-then we got his attention. The food was average this time-not up to their normal standards. The octopus was way overdone, bordering on being tough. My partner said he wouldn’t order it again. The beans were excellent but the special, the peppers, were very average. My dessert was excellent. The highlight should have been the octopus salad but it was rubbery and tough. Anyways a miss from a restaurant that is usually a hit. Disappointing especially on my birthday.

It was terrible sitting so close to the next tablet especially because the couple next to us was having a very loud disturbing conversation and really ruined our special dinner.
