King's Fish House - Orange
To create the ultimate seafood experience, we traveled down the highways and byways. We pulled up a seat, put on bibs, and soaked up the seafood experience: The no-name dishes with unforgettable flavor, the fresh-caught oysters and clams piled high, the hand-lettered specials on ancient chalkboards, and the savory simmer of every combination of spices imaginable. The pleasure of preparing and sharing seafood was simple and genuine, and it brought out the best in everyone. Often we felt as if we’d been welcomed into somebody’s home.
That’s what King’s Fish House is all about- and we've tried to bring all of these ideas together into one single, spectacular place, filled with camaraderie and celebration, and the things we love best. Welcome to the House that Seafood Built!
We have been here several times and food is always fresh. Had the salmon cakes - fabulous! Actually better than the crab cakes which seemed more out a box. We were seated by the bar so a little noisier than usual.
King’s is a family favorite restaurant. Always so delicious, service is always on point, and the outdoor seating is fantastic.
We went with friends on a very hot day. Unfortunately, unbeknownst to us one of the AC units was not working and it was unpleasantly warm inside where we were seated even though doors and windows were open. No one told us about this upfront. In addition the server was not very efficient or pleasant. Food was good as it usually is at Kings Fish House.
This is one of our favorite places for a casual meal. The service is consistently great, the food is also consistently delicious. Food cost is a little on the higher side but you get what you pay for.
Angels pre-game lunch with friends!
We made a reservation for 6:15pm weeks in advance. We were not seated until 7:05. Totally unacceptable. There were other guests with advance reservations that were treated the same. Manager allowed multiple tables with guests not ordering food or drinks; just sitting and chatting after receiving their bill. I will not be back.
The food was delicious, I had the grilled shrimp, baked potato and grilled zucchini, I would definitely have it again! The service was great, I had to wait 25 minutes for my friend to arrive and the server was very attentive, she brought me warm bread and butter and a drink while I waited. We were going to a concert in the area and she made sure that we had our meal in a timely manner as well as the check. Overall a great start to a wonderful evening! I will eat there again!
Great service and delicious food
Delicious salmon. We all ordered salmon! Nice that we had a reservation, as the restaurant was packed.
Great food! Great service, had an enjoyable date night. Glad we had reservations as wait was an hour for walk ins
Great fish always cooked well and still juicy - the vegetables are lightly prepared with no heavy sauces - always a great experience with well trained and responsive staff -will definitely return
Love us some Kings Seafood!
Try the Miso Yaki Chilean Sea Bass !!
The best plate of fish you can get ! You WONT regret it .
Staff is friendly and attentive:)
Thumbs up !
My wife and I dined here for our 1st wedding anniversary . Our sever was extremely pleasant and the food was delicious . We were sat by the door which wasn’t a problem until the we noticed a couple of flies . Outside of the uninvited guest, we loved Kings fish house and will surely return
We had stopped going to Kings a few years ago due to the decline in service, increasing prices, and inconsistent food quality. Happy to report that this was a second visit within the last two weeks. Remodel is impressive, food is very good, service needs work. Staff seems rushed and very impersonal.
Everything was great. Food was fantastic as usual.
Only if they like crowded dining...
And can wait to catch the waiter
We sat at the bar to dine as we often do. It was mad busy so everyone behind the bar was hustling. We ran into a few glitches, but Lauren kept her cool and just kept making everything right with grace and kindness. She really saved the experience.
Been coming here for date night, special occasions, or just the love for seafood. Atmosphere is always vibrant and food is good (or a miss depending on what you ordered) but in general this is a good place. Service was good (would suggest that the waitress would have a little smile). Recommended and will come back.
Very good food as usual. Service was very slow. She was just running from one side to the other. Didnt look like she was doing anything. Had to get a different waitress to refill drinks. It was about 15 min. After she took our drink order to get our drinks(non alcohol) and take our order.
Excellent. We go every week!
Most of their food is prepared well. The fish tacos were oily and soggy. I would not order this again. The fish does not need to be deep fried if it is not battered. I don't get this. Watch the salt
King’s has good variety and the ambiance is spot on for their theme. The open plan gets aloud at peak time and their kitchen slows down. Plan at least an hour or more for a party of 4 or more.
I love King’s - especially the Orange location because it’s been remodeled and is quite lovely. The food is always outstanding. I especially love the blackened shrimp taquitos, and everyone else who tries them loves them too! Honestly, I’ve never had anything bad at King’s; the quality and preparation of the food is excellent/delicious. Service was impeccable during this most recent visit too. Thank you!
King’s Fish House is a little gem in orange. It was a great meal and the service was outstanding. It is a little pricey but the seafood is very fresh and has great portion sizes.
We had drinks in the bar area before dinner......service was amazing, our waitress was attentive, fun and suggested a few drinks we might enjoy (which we did)! We loved the newly decorated restaurant and bar, very relaxed and beautiful (without being stuffy) atmosphere. Wonderful evening....thank you so much!
Outstanding food and service. The fresh bread is amazing and the food was top notch.
Missed my schedule update from 4 to 6 online, so did not have table for 1 hour. Bad. Pulled it out with a nice space on patio, worked out. Always good food.
When our server introduced herself, I asked if it would be possible to put the marquee college football game on one of the TV’s. She said she would ask the manager. Who knows what happened after that because the game never got put on the TV. Then our server took forever to bring me my beer. After we ate, she proceeded to give us the wrong check. At that point, one of the younger servers sensed that our older server was messing up and she stepped in to help. It was really disappointing because they did a great job with the remodel and the place has lots of TV’s and looks amazing.
We have been here a few times and I'm always impressed. Food, service, and atmosphere is always great.
The waiter, Frank, was unprofessional. His demeanor is not appropriate for this restaurant. He should work at a fast food chain.
Serve was great food was Awsome and she recommended great dishes
We go to Kings for the Sand Dabs that are my wife's favorite.
I had the crab cakes. I'd rate them 5/10 as they had too much filler and were ground/processed too much.
The buttered corn was out standing!
Great place for a business lunch. Outside seating is a plus. Service was good
King’s is always delicious. From the crab cakes, to the lobster, to the scallops and the mahi tacos we all enjoyed our meals. Staff is great, everyone works as a team. We look forward to our return.
This is our go to place for celebrations. Food is consistently delicious and the service is excellent.
Had a great experience. Definitely going back.
Food was great and well priced.
Sat at the oyster bar. The vibe is good and raw bar items are great. The service is a bit slower clearing plates there but over all great experience.
Total for bill was $180.00 for 4 people, i.e. 2 couples. Fine. Paid $100 cash and remainder on debit card. We were brought bill with $100 deducted from total leaving $80 to be charged to debit card. Paid remainder and included tip i.e. $40 totaling $120 on Debit card. Next morning, went to online banking for unrelated issue and noticed $180 was deducted for King's which also showed this would be adjusted for the added tip, i.e. $220. Was the cash pocketed and a bogus bill brought to table? Hopefully honest mistake. I called and was told correction would take 3 days. If not then call again. Overall, disappointing.
Best seafood and sushi in oc. This is our favorite family restaurant
So disappointed. I have loved Kings for years. The remodel was beautiful and we were all excited to visit more often. I was there twice this week; once for lunch and once for dinner. The service was awful both times but the dinner visit on Tuesday took the cake. First, with a reservation, the snooty hostess wouldn’t give us a table upon arrival. We were early and the restaurant was nearly vacant, but we had to wait???
After asking a manager for assistance we were seated. We ordered cocktails. After 20 minutes, I got up and went to find our server. A different server intervened and offered to help. The manager stopped by the table to apologize but cocktails took over 30 minutes. Food was truly mediocre. It is so unfortunate to have a beautiful restaurant with tremendous potential be this subpar.
