Jax Fish House & Oyster Bar in Fort Collins, Colorado has a passion for serving up food includes sustainably harvested seafood and produce that is farm-fresh and local. With a popular oyster bar and plenty of locally brewed craft beers, this is a great spot for meeting up with friends after work.
The starter menu at Jax Fish House & Oyster Bar has plenty to tempt, such as house smoked trout, Buffalo fried oysters, chicken and shrimp gumbo, jumbo lump crab cake and spicy tuna tacos. On the seafood menu, there are three samplers, aptly named the hook, the line and the sinker. Get some friends together and enjoy all three, hook, line and sinker. Though Jax Fish House & Oyster Bar is all about the seafood, there is a burger and Colorado steak frites on the menu as well.
Always a fun time when we go to Jax. The food is outstanding as is the service. I ordered the seabass dish served in a curry with a side of rice. It was the best curry I have ever eaten. My husband had the seared ahi tuna served over a spaghetti squash pad thai....also delicious. Delicious pinot noir from Oregon. Our server knew all of the right things to recommend.
First, I want to be clear that our server Sara was attentive and very professional. It is clear that the wine prices on the wine list have increased at least 25%. We chose a wine titled Imagenry. When we requested a second bottle, Sara informed us that they did not have anymore of that particular wine. We then spoke to the manager Sam. When he came to the table, he knelt so that no one else could hear the conversation. He apologized, of course, never asked what he could do...such as giving us a similar bottle of wine at the price point that we had purchased the first. He returned with two plates of shrimp which we did not order nor want. I have never had this type of behavior from a manager. I would recommend that Sam be treated to several interpersonal skills training. My recommendation is to enjoy one of the other Jax in Colorado.
We went to celebrate a belated birthday for me, and valentines day. We splurged and did the all you can eat crab, and it was worth every penny. SOOO GREAT! I would go back in a minute.
Jax is always a good place to eat. I think they have raised their prices through as we were taken back by how expensive it is. It was a detractor to the evening. Good food just be prepared.
Always great! Our favorite restaurant in Fort Collins
Our service was wonderful and all of our food was delicious. The standout was definitely dessert! The key lime pie was amazing .
The food was very disappointing. The muscles were nice but the broth was tasteless. My wife had the ahie tune entree. It was very spicey. The best part of our meal was the chowder soup. For $100 (including 1 cocktail each) I felt it wasn’t a great value.
Good food but a bit overpriced for what you get.
Never disappoints! Great food, atmosphere and experience!
Excellent food and service. Way too noisy.
The food is always excellent and presented in an appealing manner. I must give a special comment to our server Matt. He is without a doubt the best server we have ever had in a restaurant. He is personable, respectful, and a true gentleman. He fondly remembers us when we dine at your restaurant. He is a true asset to your restaurant.
One of the best things about going to Jax, besides a great happy hour is being served by the best server I've experienced in quite some time - Sarah!!! She is friendly, conscientious, respectful, knowledgeable...I could go on and on. She knows how to do it right! I also love that Jax has done away with using straws, and uses cloth instead of paper products. This has become one of my favorite restaurants in Fort Collins!
What better way to celebrate Fat Tuesday than a night at JAX!
Great food, great Sazarac's, live band, Hurricane's in the Mardi Gras glass!!
Give me a break……..why wouldn't you go!
Thanks to everyone at Jax for your planning and pulling off this fun party!
Great music! Great chowder! Nice to be able to reserve through open table.
The atmosphere was electric Mardi Gras! This place was definitely a party. At our table the waitress came up and put beads around our necks, she was so friendly. We ordered drinks and some raw oysters which were amazing, a little smaller then I remembered. Two people ordered the jambalaya, one calamari and a wedge salad (vegetarian), another a steak. I had Creole Shrimp & Grits which was just what I wanted. We all enjoyed our meals. For desert we had King Cake & our grandaughter found the baby in hers & received a gift certificate. Overall an excellent evening.
