The waiter Freddie was so friendly. As soon as we walked in he greeted us with a big smile and was more than kind and attentive!
The food was delicious, spicy and fulfilling. I couldn’t finish it so I had to take it home to enjoy! Will definitely be coming back very soon!!!!
The food would have scored a 4 but we found the quality of the chicken was below the standard we would expect for the price paid. Other than that, the taste/ flavours of the food were delicious.
At first , it was difficult to get into the restaurant as the door at 136 , was locked plus was surprised to see the different buzzers for different residents in the flats. I thought I was in the wrong place. The restaurant nextdoor was Mamounia and a staff member from there told me that I am at the right door. So I phoned the restaurant on my mobile, and explained that the door is locked. So he came and opened the door, and said that the residents above tend to lock the door upon leaving. That said , we were shown to our table, and got to chat with Fred , who we assume was the governor of the restaurant . We also chatted with Marinella, a very friendly, pleasant cheerful waitress. Overall we had a pleasant experience and Fred arranged for sorted out my wife’s Prawn dish which was too hot for her. Although we did not have starters or desserts, we were served some sweet indian (with candle) dessert as we were celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary. I was told the restaurant has two entrances, one at each end. Not sure if the other end had steps, but the one I used a had staircase, which was a bit of a problem for me due to my bad knee.
So people with mobility issues need to be aware of the flight of stairs and if planning to go here, please ask whether access into the restaurant is easy.
Food was great service was quite poor. Walked past 5 members of staff on the way in, not one said welcome or hello.
Found this little Resturant since I was In the Knightsbridge area. At first it was difficult to find from the High Street but eventually called and got directions. As Indian food goes this was just ok. Servings a little small. Very pleasant wait staff.
Very enjoyable and tasty.
Ambiance was So-so but quality food for a causal meal.
We booked a table for 12 noon and this was confirmed by Open Table. The waiter was impolite and said that they did not open until 12.30. I showed him the booking on my mobile. He muttered something and went off and we left. Haandi used to be a good restaurant and it has gone downhill. What a shame. I’ve been going there for years and this was the last straw.
Will be back soon !
Lovely food and venue
I am very satisfied customer! Thank you.
Good food and good value. However the real surprise were the personable and knowledgeableable waiters. They are worth the trip alone. I’ll be back the next time I come to London. Sincerely Mr young
Super Service and delicious food! Plants make it feel very open and airy. Tandoor chicken very tender, Lamb Magoush(?) yummy. Very knowledgeable about wines, and helped us choose the perfect foil for the meal. It's on our list for London now! Thanks for a nice evening!
Food is great and staff friendly but stretched, so often quite frantic and rushing around. It meant that we had to ask for things several times to get them.
Inspire of this, we had a pleasant meal
Local clientele are quite rude and entitled, which is a shame and out of the restaurants control. It does make for a less than desirable setting at times though.
This restaurant certainly looks more glamorous in the photos than it does it reality. I selected it because my grandparents were offering to take me out for a birthday meal and, knowing they like Indian cuisine and having seen other good ratings, I thought it looked reasonably priced and an interesting alternative to pricier, more upmarket eateries in the vicinity.
When we arrived, we were greeted by an extremely friendly gentleman who took our order (during which time my grandmother told him she was coeliac). We ordered poppadoms which, when they came, had a sort of stale and somewhat greasy texture. The pickles were from a standard jar and nothing special. For mains, we ordered a variety of dishes. I ordered a tandoori masala salmon dish featuring two whole fillets. Unfortunately, they were quite overcooked and not especially well-boned as I had a small but sharp salmon bone stuck in my throat for the remainder of the evening and did not eat anymore of the meal because of it (which is a bit awkward when the meal you've failed to eat is your birthday present!) Other dishes which I tried, prior to ingesting a bone, were okay - nothing special. Rice was a tad wet/not fluffy.
I ordered another round of drinks from a waitress on my way to the bathrooms (where I was going to try and dislodge the bone), which did not materialise. I waved down our original waiter and asked him for another round of drinks. He brought over just one drink. I had to re-specify that everyone else wanted drinks which eventually arrived after we'd finished eating.
All in all, the bill came to £150 which, in my opinion, was quite steep considering the quality of the food. I wanted to choose a pre-theatre option that was relatively cheap and exciting. In the end, I felt it was neither of those things which was a bit of a shame. (Also, the next morning my grandmother had blotchy, itching hands which suggests that she did eat something containing gluten the night before.)
We wanted a casual, tasty dinner. Haandi was great!
The food is just excellent. I ordered vindaloo and asked the Chef to make it extra spicy and he didn’t disappoint. The portions are very good. The service can be better as reaction time, enthusiasm, smiling staff can improve a great deal. Overall good. Will recommend to friends. Please be more friendly!!!! Thanks
The food was great as usual. The lamb Vindaloo, extra spicy, was just great. Service was good. Could be better. Love the place quaint, warm and friendly
Great food as usual, but service is bizzar.
Everything about the restaurant was very good. Good Food - Good service - I am a very satisfied customer. Tara Punjabi.
Amazing food and fantastic hospitality. I went for a special occasion with my mum, sister and nephew. The staff were fantastic with my nephew and the food was cooked beautifully. The food is definitely authentic too.
Other half ordered chicken tikka but it felt like it was reheated in a microwave. Ordered a lamb dish and there was chicken pieces inside. So I had to call the waiter and explain. Waited another 10min for my lamb to arrive and in that time my naan bread was rock hard. Not coming back here again even I have the urge to have a curry.
I don’t mind trying out new places but this won’t be the one for next time. By all means do go and check it out and see what you think.
We enjoyed our new year's evening meal at Haandi with our family. They served authentic and above average Indian food. The wait staff was a little overwhelmed with the New Year's crowd, but they were pleasant and responsive when they could be.
A warm welcome with helpful staff. The meal arrived speedily and was well presented. Ordering Nan breads and various levels of spicy fare we were impressed by the range of choices at reasonable cost. A good evening and I will be returning.
Good restaurant and good food but They need to get the service sorted out. If you are charging £20 for a curry dish, the least you can do is to serve it hot and fresh.
Great food, but very bizarre service. One of the best Indian restaurants in the area.
The service is slow and very bizarre as no one knows who the manager is and who isn’t.
The staff was very friendly and helpful, the menu was diverse and had options for everyone, and the food was delicious and came out quickly.
Had excellent curry and naan. The appetizer with various dips was also very good.
Glacial service, food was quite pricey and mediocre, ambiance is nothing special. Extremely disappointing meal.
I visited this restaurant 16 years ago and made it a point to come back when I visited London again. I was not disappointed. It has changed a bit, but the food is still delicious and the staff is eager to please. It was a very enjoyable experience!
Good food for good value of money! One of the most authentic Indian restaurant I've been to
They messed up our order ( probably a new girl cause she got in trouble by almost every table ) but the food came out quick after they figured it out . Food was really good . Would recommend it . Very tasteful !
Authentic and tasty Indian food. Attentive, friendly and quick service. Indian beer.
Absolutely delicious Indian food in Knightsbridge. A great, varied menu and flavorful food. Service was only average, but they were pretty busy.
Loved the Punjabi chicken curry, also yoghurt with mint. Would have preferred flakey pastry on veg somosa but what I had was good.
