I want to start by saying this place is great but it definitely has some service flaws… Running a few minutes behind, I called to let them know we would be there before the 15 minute grace period was up. I always call. I was reminded of the 15 minute grace period… Seated, greeted, ordered our wine & then waited for a really long time for our wine. Then waited longer for someone to take our order let alone tell us the specials. At one point a woman (later identified as a manager) came over to see if we had any questions. We asked about a few items. She eventually came back and we ordered. Concerned we were ordering too much, we specifically asked her and were told we might have a some leftovers. We can live with that. We start w the focaccia & duck liver and broccoli chicory Caesar, a favorite. We share 2 pastas as we are reminded they are smaller dishes (special crab & squash blossom - so good; and pappardelle w meat ragu - less so). Cut to we can’t even finish our pastas and we still have the grilled chop and roasted maitake mushrooms coming. Now I’m fine w some leftovers. What really bugged me was we mentioned to one of the servers that we had specifically asked if we ordered too much. When we said who we ordered with were told, “Yeah, I think our manager played you…” That just does not feel great to hear. This place is $$$$$. And yes, I went in planning to splurge. But when you feel taken advantage of, it’s less than ideal. Final straw, too full but still wanting to try their famous pistachio crunch gelato, we ask about getting it to go and are told no problem, they have pints packed to go but they are $18 instead of the $13 on the menu because a full pint. We get home and find the pint is 3/4 full. It’s a beautiful space with delicious food. Just wish we didn’t feel taken advantage of in the process.More infoAntico NuovoPrice: Expensive• Italian• Hollywood•4.8
