Newly remodeled, the much airier Tavern is all about art, music, and above all great food. Open for lunch and soon to include evening dining, the Tavern adds a distinctly Mexican/Pacific Coast set of flavors to the local fine dining scene. We are located in the heart of the Cedros Design District, within walking distance of the Amtrak station. The style is casual with indoor and outdoor dining ( plus bar seating). Culinary Droupout has a good menu and the food we ordered (fried chicken and Korean short ribs) was very good. The mud pie is also good but you'll regret it later if you're not in the habit if eating decadent deserts. I felt like I needed a wheelchair after eating two bites too many. (and we split it three ways) The service was also very good. Most things were delivered to our table within a reasonable amount of time, with one exception. My only real complaint is the noise level, which is my complaint at nearly every restaurant these days. When we arrived at 6:15, the patio was full but there weren't too many people inside. But as the dining room filled up the noise level grew and it reached a decibel level approaching LOUD. However, maybe the fact that the bar opens to the patio helps mitigate the noise. I'm not sure. The only annoying thing was the sun streaming in through the open bar -- we all had to put on sunglasses and shield our eyes for at least 20 minutes because the sun was blinding. Patio umbrellas can serve to block some sun, but we happened to be located at a booth where there was a gap of several feet in between two umbrellas. But if you manage to visit when it's not sunset, or sit in the back, it's a good place. I'm sure I'll go back. As an aside, this is owned by Fox Restaurants, which is an Arizona restaurant company. I'm from AZ and have eaten at other Fox restaurants and they're all good and well-managed. I hope they open more restaurants here.

I was 1st disappointed when a table offered for us outside was unexpected and very inconvenient for us especially for me. I was asking politely at the front desk requesting for table inside but not very helpful and friendly at all. Am a breast cancer survivor and just recently finished my treatment but am still on oral maintenance chemo meds that sunlight exposure is one contraindication for me. I requested to talk to the manager and he was much much nicer and pleasant and my request was granted at no time. The rest of the evening was more pleasant and we enjoyed our dinner and our stay there

We enjoyed our meal and beers at Gravity Heights! We sat outside on the patio and could easily have conversation. Our server was great. The menu had a nice variety and there was something for everyone.
