Best Neighborhood Gem Restaurants in Hanover

I was not wowed and I thought I was going to be. According to most of the reviews I read the ambience and food were going to be top rate. Everyone was raving about the place. Unfortunately, that was not the case for us. We started with the Ricotta and Honeycomb appetizer. It sounded delicious and refreshing but was actually kind of bland. We also noticed the other tables receiving bread and butter but we were never offered. For our entrees I tried the crabcakes. They had nice chunks of backfin but a bit too much filler for my taste and the price. My wife opted for the filet mignon since they are apparently known for their steaks and even advertise the butcher they source them from. Again the kitchen missed the mark. Granted the steak was cooked perfectly temp wise but it had no seared crust and looked rather grey in color sitting on the plate. This takes me to my next disappointment. There is no plate presentation. Both entrees came out with no garnish or concern for plate appearance. Granted the portions were large but if not appealing looking it really doesn't matter. The only highlight of the evening was our server, I believe her name was Elyssa. She was very attentive and friendly. In closing I would expect a restaurant with these prices to put a little more effort in how they present their food. I left disappointed in our dining experience and most likely will not make a return visit.

We came for the fish special, miso marinated black cod with shitake mushrooms, boy choy, and forbidden rice. It was an incredible meal. The meal was done to perfection with the butter richness of the black cod complemented by Chef Dan's wine recommendation. We did have the squash blossoms appetizers and the coffee cream bruelee. Chef Dan, Chef Patrick and the staff always making our dinners there spectacular.

Great crab cakes! I choose to go there because my daughter enjoyed Brunch there. I had the best Raspberry Point Oysters and will go back for more.

Our waiter suggested the crab dip, and it did not disappoint! Great staff, very attentive, and the recommendations were awesome! Would definitely recommend

I made a last minute reservation for Father's Day and it was well worth it. So many choices to choose from and the atmosphere was amazing. Everything we had was great and we will not hesitate to return to this location again.
