Exceptional experience! We made a reservation but were running late & the call to alert them was appreciated! We arrived 15 minutes later and our fav place was already taken. The wait was only 30 minutes so we sat at the bar with glasses of Picpoul and checked out the fresh oysters on display. Although we expected a wait, no sooner than we had sat down, our best booth became available! We started w/ oysters on the half shell: Tuxedo, Olde Salts, and Single Ladies. Impeccably fresh and presented! Next were cups of sherried she crab soup, silky and buttery with hints of nutmeg just as it's done in Colonial Williamsburg. So yummy! Our entrées were salmon w/ bacon and bourbon served with Yukon Gtold mash and Mussels Marinière. Both were delicious! Ken, our server was top notch ⭐️ it was a perfectly wonderful evening.

We had a fantastic dining experience in downtown Charleston. Seated by the window on the 3rd floor, the atmosphere was romantic. The food was excellent—shrimp cocktail, oysters Rockefeller, oak salad, and a perfectly cooked 14 oz NY strip, with mac n' cheese and brussel sprouts on the side. Everything was delicious and reasonably priced for a steakhouse in this area. The staff was friendly, and getting a reservation was easy. Highly recommend!

Open Table app respected my request for table selection and we got a great table when arriving at the restaurant. The service was very good with exception that, we received our drink order, about 2 minutes later got some chips to nosh on... and within 3 minutes had dinner put down in front of us! it was like they knew what we wanted to eat, and wanted us OUT of there quick! Literally no time to even enjoy the ambiance of the inside of the restaurant itself before we had our dinners in front of us. Honestly, it was very disappointing, while the restaurant was busy, there were no lines of people waiting to get in and no reason to push us / rush us out the door! I think our reservation was at 7Pm and we were out the door by 7:30 ish. THe food was tremendous (well the Tuna Poke bowl was) THe Ravioli's were good but they were so heavy - like lead bombs so while there were plenty, could not finish them becasue they were so heavy! THe amount of food provided per dinner was plentiful, like I said the Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl was absolutely phenomenal! my dinner guest actually stopped eating her raviolis and ate some of my Poke Bowl because the raviolis were just so heavy! THe waiter was very nice (I dont blame him for the quick service) but it should have been slowed down so we could enjoy! I still recommend and definitely will be back (with the request that dinner come out slowly and let us enjoy our drinks and appetizers!)

Let me start by saying Mike is an incredible host, server, chef, and historian. This was a one of a kind experience and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a unique culinary experience in Charleston. While it is not a conventional restaurant, Mike takes you on a culinary journey of 18th and 19th century low country cuisine, keeping things as authentic as possible while still appealing to our modern palates. Each dish was carefully crafted and thoughtfully prepared. The table was full of strangers, but we all got to chat and listen to Mike’s wonderful presentation of Charleston history to go along with each dish. Our specific meal was centered around Legacy families of Charleston, so we enjoyed dishes each family would have also enjoyed. Mike deserves all of the attention and reservations he can handle. As he says, he’s one of Charleston’s best kept secrets, and I believe that to be true because I had a fantastic experience.
