Too noisy downstairs and also too cold. Upstairs much nicer. Hostess very competent and greeting was excellent. Waiter (Dillon) OUTSTANDJNG. Food choices were great and everything delicious. Great cocktails. Great wine selection. Prices reasonable.

This was our first time at the Nest Kitchen & Taphouse. We were greeted by a friendly hostess, given our seating options and then taken care of by waitresses and servers who actually acted like they enjoyed their jobs. We sat outdoors on a beautiful evening, and as a bonus, there was live music that night, which made the evening even more memorable. Our sandwiches, which were not overpriced, were served in a timely manner, and the quality was excellent. All in all, we left knowing that this will become a regular place to go when we dine out.

As someone who travels frequently for work and has a particular palate, I’ve had the opportunity to dine at many restaurants across the region. It’s not often that I find a place so exceptional that I make a point to return every time I’m in town—but Glass Light in Norfolk is exactly that kind of place. From the moment I first dined here, I knew it was special. On my recent return to Norfolk, I brought a guest along—and once again, the experience did not disappoint. Every dish I have ordered, from the tender and flavorful octopus, to the creatively prepared halibut, was nothing short of pleasurable. The flavors are bold yet balanced, the presentation thoughtful, and the quality undeniable. But what elevates this restaurant beyond great food and excellent service is something harder to describe—something personal. We had the pleasure of meeting the Chef Ticha during our visit, and that brief encounter gave us a glimpse into the heart behind the cuisine. His passion and humility left a lasting impression, adding a layer of meaning to an already memorable meal. This place isn’t just a restaurant—it’s an experience. And for me, it’s now a must-visit every time I find myself in Virginia.
