Kokkari (pronounced “Ko-Kar-ee”) is a small fishing village located on the islands of Samos in the Aegean Sea, whose name is derived from the small onions that were once produced in the nearby fields. Its fertile soil and Mediterranean climate translated into an abundance of fresh produce as well as treasured seafood and game. Legend tells that Kokkari is the site where Orion, a mighty hunter and a young man of gigantic stature and great beauty, fell in love with the daughter of the king of Chios. For the love of her, Orion forged the island for wild game and seafood to prepare elaborate banquets in celebration of their love. Today, we hope you will enjoy your own celebration as you dine at Kokkari Estiatorio on food “fit for the Gods” prepared with an Aegean palate and the style of innovative California fare.

Che Fico, is a California Italian restaurant from Chefs David Nayfeld and Matt Brewer in San Francisco's NOPA neighborhood. The food focuses on Italian cuisine through the lens of California. It’s our vision of Northern California as if it is a region in Italy, our connection to the region, and our love for Italian culinary practices. The rustic, market-driven menu features handmade pasta, pizzas, antipasti, housemade salumi, meat, and fish plus dishes from the Jewish-Roman heritage known as “Cucina Ebraica.” The beverage program focuses heavily on both Italian and Californian wines with a cocktail program that utilizes a variety of spirits, amaros, and seasonal ingredients. This was our second time dining here and yet again, we were served great food and service. This time it was to celebrate my amazing wife’s birthday with friends. They stayed on top of our table while serving other guest. The food was great and we all left with full belly’s and hearts. Thank you for an amazing experience

This was our first visit, but it won’t be our last. A friend recommended Foreign Cinema so we tried it for our daughter’s 24th birthday dinner. It did not disappoint, everything about it was perfect. The food was amazing, the girls shared it might be the best meal they have ever eaten. I was concerned that it might be a bit gimmicky with the movie, etc, but the atmosphere was fun and not overdone. Would highly recommend!

Overall had a great experience and meal at the vault. The heaters were the perfect temp. I chose the restaurant based on location near the Jay hotel and menu offerings. The crab dip was fantastic. The fried brussel sprouts were a bit burned. The risotto had great texture but I wasn't a fan of the mushrooms but that was personal taste. Overall a pleasant experience. Will try the Vault steak house next time in the city.
